We are currently seeking a Trimmer / Climber to join our team.
Trims and/or removes trees by climbing with the aid of a ladder, safety belt, climbing line, powered trimmer lift truck, or works from the ground using gasoline, air, and hand-powered saws, pruner, etc. He/she cuts branches or trunk sections and drops or lowers them to the ground with lines.
Uses wedges, sledges, and chain saws in felling trees or trimmed trunks and in cutting and splitting logs into manageable pieces.
Sprays stumps and brush with hand-spraying equipment to prevent further growth.
Loads and unloads trucks with logs, stumps, brush, and debris and/or feeds brush into a wood chipper.
Repairs slight damage to lawns, fences, and walks caused by tree trimming.
Services gasoline, air, and hand-powered tools and other equipment.

ACE Epic NPS WV: Recreation Stewardship Internship - Americorps
Summary: American Conservation Experience (ACE), a nonprofit Conservation Corps, in partnership with New River Gorge (NERI) National River in West Virginia is seeking ONE Recreation Stewardship Intern to serve full time for 12 weeks. This position will work directly with the National Park Service to develop and implement a climbing stewardship program.
This position will develop a plan to collect observational data related to climbing that can be used to better inform future management actions and work to develop a volunteer climbing stewardship program.
This internship opportunity is intended for enthusiastic, energetic students with a background and/or interest in parks and recreation management, social science, climbing management, environmental education, or other relevant field of study.

Location:New River Gorge National River, Glen Jean, West Virginia.
New River Gorge National River (NERI) is located in southern West Virginia and encompasses 70,000 acres and 53 miles of one of the oldest rivers on the continent. NERI is home to a vast array of natural and cultural resources. Renowned for its recreational opportunities, NERI hosts miles of hiking and biking trails, premiere white water rafting, rock climbing, fishing, hunting, bird watching, and camping.
Park staff also manages nearby Bluestone National Scenic River (BLUE) and Gauley River National Recreation Area (GARI). BLUE protects 10.5 miles of free flowing river and offers a rich variety of natural resources and history along the Bluestone Turnpike Trail. GARI protects 25 miles of the Gauley River and 6 miles of Meadow River. Known for its multiple class V rapids, GARI is one of the most adventurous rivers in the east.

Compensation: The ACE intern will serve 40 hours/week and receive a living allowance of $250/week.
The intern will have use of a government vehicle for project-related travel, though a personal vehicle is required for time off and transportation to/from the park. Housing is provided at no cost to the intern by the park and consists of a furnished house located 6 miles from park headquarters and 13 miles to the nearest grocery store. Park housing has free wifi and limited cell service.
Absolutely no pets are permitted in government housing. This position may earn hours eligible for Public Land Corps non-competitive hiring authority.

Position Description: The Recreation Stewardship Intern will develop and implement a climbing stewardship program.
This position will develop a plan to collect observational data related to climbing. The intern will develop a methodology to collect information on number of users, parking area capacity, timing, and concurrent recreational uses in climbing areas (hammocks, radio use, etc.). This will involve research into climbing and bouldering areas and activities in the New River Gorge National River and Gauley River National Recreation Areas. The intern will also actively collect data based on the methodology developed and adopted.
The intern will also work on developing a volunteer climbing stewardship program similar to the existing "Adopt-A-Trail" program in place in the park. A background in rock climbing is not necessary for the position, but it would be helpful.
This position will devote 10% of time to professional development opportunities including cross training, online coursework, and shadowing National Park Service professionals.
Training: The intern will be trained in safety procedures and attend park-wide safety days. Cross-training opportunities are encouraged and can include: amphibian surveys, bird netting, mine portal surveys for bats, invasive species management, vegetation management, and interpretive programs/education.
Physical Demands: Duties consist of a mix of indoor sedentary work and physical outdoor work.
Work may be conducted over rough, un-even terrain during adverse weather conditions. Light lifting, bending, and driving are required.
Schedule: weekend activity will be required; every two weeks weekend is "off." Can be flexible on this arrangement, but weekend data collection in the park is required.

Thesuccessful candidate will be responsible forteaching courses in chemical engineering, advising students,implementing program assessment tools, and engagingin professional and institutional activities.

A Ph.D. in chemical engineering ora closely related field is required.
Must have a commitment toundergraduate teaching excellence and be responsive to student needs.

Expertise in bioprocessing, energyconversion, particle technology, process design or related field isdesirable.

Traveling between multiple locations to perform the duties and responsibilities of the role, the RN is accessible to staff at all locations during working hours. Depending on the program, may be required to be accessible after hours for consultation.
Provide clinical care to address the medicalneeds of individuals in multiple locations within the assigned region.
Conduct the medical assessment of each individual referred to the program and collaborate with an Intake staff member to determine appropriate placement in the community
Participate in the development and implementation of service plans and supervise, in conjunction with the physicians, the medical components of the plan
Serve as liaison and advocate with other medical and professional service providers
Provide input regarding health care services to be included in each Individual Service Plan (ISP)
Review documents and revise all nursing/nursing related care plans on a regular basis
Promote health and wellness for individuals and ensure nursing actions and steps are put in place for prevention
Ensure medical records and reports are current and complete in accordance with regulatory and corporate standards, including medication administration records and physician's orders
Maintain contact with primary care physicians and specialists, and, when directed, attend doctor visits with mentor and/or individual receiving services.
Administer medications according to established guidelines
Provide documentation for all medications given and review medication administration records for compliance
Oversee the management of high-risk medical conditions and private duty nursing services
Provide technical assistance, medical oversight and training of LVNs and program staff to ensure the effective implementation of all related services
Develop training flow charts specific to each individual receiving services, provide and document medical skills training to clients, mentors, respite providers, staff, and where appropriate, the biological family
Participate as an Individual Health Plan (IHP) or Plan of Care (POC) team member
Evaluate the medical needs of each individual for initial IHP/POC,
Ensure IHP/POC goals and objectives are medically indicated
Present medical skills components at Pre-service Orientation
Generate ongoing health care protocols for the specific medical conditions outlined in the IHP/POC
Provide consultation and technical assistance to staff and mentors regarding home care issues along with operation of durable medical equipment.
Participate in on call system as needed
Travel between multiple locations during work hours
Provide support and is accessible to staff at all locations during working hours
May be required to be accessible after hours for consultation
May actively participate in IDT meetings, Human Rights Committee, Health and Safety Committee and Administration meeting

What we ask of you:
Graduate of an accredited RN program
One year experience working with medically complex individuals
Current state RN License
Current driver's license, car registration and auto insurance if driving on the behalf of the Company or providing transportation to individuals receiving services.
Current CPR/First Aid certification.
Job requires performance of duties that involve potential for exposure to blood, body fluids, or tissues. Tasks that do involve exposure are an expectation of employment.
Experience working with individuals with Intellectual or Developmental Disabilities is preferred, but bring the right attitude, and we'll train you for success
Excellent assessment skills with the ability to exercise critical thinking in the clinical environment. Ability to prioritize, strong organizational skills
Effective communication skills a must – ability to communicate clearly with team members, medical professionals, those we serve, and their families
Position requires travel in assigned region to provide services and conduct visits to our individuals.
