The EDM Machine Operator A will:
Set-up and operate electrical discharge machines, radial and straight, to shape metal work pieces to specifications, following standard charts and manuals and applying knowledge of set-up and operation of electrical-discharge processes and methods.
Examine operation sheets and plan operation and fabrication of electrodes.
Turn controls to adjust machine setting, such as voltage, current, frequency and electrode feed rate according to information in charts and knowledge of electrical-discharge machining procedures.
Start machine and observe beginning of operation and adjust controls such as voltage, current, frequency and electrode feed rate according to information in charts and knowledge of electrical-discharge machining procedure and adjust machine setting to position electrode in work piece.
Inspect first piece visually and with templates and other measuring instruments for conformance to specifications. Maintain measured dimension list. Inspect key dimensions on each piece and record dimensions.
Troubleshoot production quality and machine problems.
Maintain tools and measuring instruments supplied by company.
Maintain company production and quality standards.
Report unusual problems or conditions to supervisor.
Observe company safety rules and regulations.
Perform, as assigned, other similar or related duties.
Advanced Machine Operator (Warm Form) - A Shift
Great opportunity in an advanced machine operator role that will focus on machine operations, process improvement, training, standard work documents, etc. Candidate must be very strong with their technical skillset within the plant and operate machines within a team environment for the purpose of producing quality parts for customers while meeting production schedules in a cost efficient, profitable and safe manner.
- Demonstrate a thorough knowledge of all Plant and cell/line safety and environmental policies and procedures and be able to recognize potential safety hazards.
- Possess full knowledge of Schuler, or Komatsu.
- Operate Schuler, or Komatsu while maintaining standard operating rates / Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) with minimum downtime.
- Demonstrate full knowledge of autonomous maintenance.
- Demonstrate correct gaging techniques and perform all quality verifications within the required standards.
- Ensure that all Safety systems designed to protect the operator are functional and are being used. Ensure that Production Management are notified immediately if any system is not functional or is being violated.
- Contribute to the achievement of the company's goals and objectives including budgetary and production goals as defined by the Precision Forming Leadership Team and Production Management Team.
- Maintain Heat Lot Integrity and ensure all parts have proper routing documentation.
- Maintain proper housekeeping and complete TPM responsibilities.
- Ensure that Utilization Sheets and all other daily Production paperwork is completed at each press, including end of shift notes and shift change communication.
- Ensure that Process Scrap and Discrepant Materials are handled in accordance with procedure and discrepant materials are dispositioned by the end of the shift with accompanying paperwork.
- Interprets stage drawings, (blueprints), job layouts, sketches or verbal instructions, etc., and then processes work to establish proper size, shape, and finish. May be required to analyze and interpret program commands (PLC).
- Demonstrate proactive approach to problem solving. If problem is encountered while running a job, apply proper troubleshooting and ensure it is documented on the utilization sheet in detail.
- Monitor quality of product throughout shift operations.
- Conduct visual checks of first five parts on each new side of the parts cooling table. Conduct measured checks of parts and verify that parts meet specification requirements as per Dynamic Control Plan. Record readings on SPC charts as required.
- Respond to out of specification or out of statistical control conditions and make machine adjustments as needed. Record in detail on utilization sheet to be used as for data analysis purpose.
- Use any type precision measuring instruments necessary to check and maintain accuracy of results including 1st article inspection using conventional and coordinate measuring equipment.
- Sets up and maintains his/her own work, determining proper settings of all process parameters relative to the warm form processes.
- Train partner / others to perform more complex warm form operations.
- Makes all adjustments, either electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, chemical or mechanical while insuring the maximum utilization of the machine capabilities concerning quantity and quality of warm formed extrusions.
- Uses all tools, jigs, and special equipment associated with warm form machine operations including grinders, polishing, torque wrenches, set-up adjustment, preventive maintenance, troubleshooting both product and machine faults and other machine and process adjustments.

The Machine Operator is responsible for the following activities, assembly, chemical finishing, laser etching, packaging/labeling, vibratory finishing, cutting raw material, drilling, milling, bending, deburring, buffing, as well as some work on other types of machines and tools within the manufacturing environment.
Other equipment used may be CNC, Hydraulic, Pneumatic, Manual, or automatic and includes, but is not limited to various types of lathes, mills, grinders, hex, roll flows, vibratory machines, drill presses, jack rabbits, bead blaster, grinding wheels, buffer, bench presses, etc.
All operators use various types of measuring instruments including, numerous types of gauges, micrometers, calipers, comparators, pH meters, conductivity meters, and digital titrators for chemical analysis.
All operators use diverse types of hand tools (i.e. wrenches, screwdrivers, etc.) to adjust or change tooling or fixtures for set up changes or quality adjustments.
The Machine Operator is also responsible for following process sheets and using individual judgment, performs first piece inspection and in process quality checks. This is done both visually and mechanically.
Adjusts set up or changes tooling/chemistry as necessary to maintain quality levels,
Performs scheduled and unscheduled preventive maintenance on a regular basis such as, but not limited to, checking and replacing coolant, checking fluid oils, emptying metal chips, maintenance regarding equipment breakdowns, and process chemical maintenance,
Completes rework, as necessary, on products rejected by inspection,
Works with other production areas and cell leaders, as necessary, to resolve quality problems, Provides input to cell leader or supervisor for more efficient cell operations, tooling, fixture design, layout, and cell organization, and works following appropriate safety practices in order to prevent accidents to self or co-workers.

A minimum of a High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent is required.

Must have the ability to work in conditions that may be hot, cold, wet, and/or noisy on a daily basis. Exposure to fumes from chemicals, oil, coolants, etc. is regular with appropriate PPE.

Position Title: Operator Industrial Machine III
Reports to: Production Manager or Assigned Supervisor

An Operator Sewing Machine III operates equipment to join pre-cut materials, attach or insert components using: various mechanical equipment, electronically controlled single or multi-needle sewing machines; other equipment. Materials being sewn together have had other sewing operations performed where sewing tolerances have been altered. Since tolerances have been altered by previous sewing operations, these sewing tasks required additional skills to make pieces fit together due to variance among pieces. Sewer will also inspect and package various products produced and/or distributed by the company.
Operates single, multiple-needle, or automatic machines to join pre-cut materials, and/or attach zippers to other hardware.
Starts and stops and controls speed of machine with controls and guides parts under needle following edges, seams or markings on pre-cut materials.
Monitors stitching to detect defects to insure acceptable quality.
Selects thread and other components according to bill of material.
Thread machine, winds and changes the bobbin.
Cuts excessive material or thread with scissors / nippers when necessary.
Routinely check fabric for defects, runs, stains, missed stitches. Performs repairs on defected merchandise as needed.
Performs required daily machine maintenance and adjustment. Includes but is not limited to adjusting thread tension, dusting machine, wipe off oil, adjust stitches per inch.
Notifies sewing machine repair person when experiencing problems with machine.
May be required to turn garments right side out, preparing garment for inspection, folding and packaging.
Insert foam into assembled life vests according to specifications, counting correct number of layers of foam
Thread belt through loops, thread buckle component onto webbing, and snap buckles shut.
Affix UPC tag and Think Safe Pamphlet on vest with a ticket gun according to specifications.
Place product in box and closes box using tape machine or hand tape and places boxes to be taken to warehouse.
Perform the Inflate and Deflate process. Keep required records as set by quality standards.
Completes required documentation including but not limited to recording production quantities, downtime, scrap, traceability, component usage
Responsible for injury prevention and promoting safety by keeping work area neat, clean and organized.

Ability to read numbers, count, add, subtract, multiply and divide using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Measure using a ruler.

Physical Demands: While performing the duties of this job, the employee must be able to sit for extended periods of time. The employee may be required to use fingers, hands and arms and foot pedal to operate machines and reach for, hold, grasp, push/pull, and handle material repetitively with a high degree of dexterity. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
Work Environment: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is exposed to limited moving mechanical equipment.

EMV Operator - Machine Operator - Fri-Sun, 5Pm-5Am
Company Overview / Position Summary:
Come be a part of CPI Card Group, the principal provider of payment card production and related services. Our IN team is growing! The EMV Operator is responsible effectively preparing, operating and maintaining Smart Card equipment including lamination, milling, embedding, pre-personalization, key rolling, quality and quality testing under the direction of Smart Card (EMV) Lead to ensure the production and timely delivery of high-quality plastic secured chip cards according to customer specifications and Company quality objectives
The schedule for this position is 5:00pm to 5:00am.
The position starts at $15.07/hour plus an additional 10% shift differential for working weekend nights.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Responsible for accurate machine setup, operations, loading and unloading of materials and error adjustments based on work instructions, checklists, product specifications, and customer job ticket requirements
Continually checks, monitors and corrects any quality issues that may occur during each customer job run to minimize downtime and waste
Interprets and completes all Smart Card forms and documents that pertain to the Smart Card department with high accuracy.
Maintains an accurate record of all completed work in shop floor data system and/or manual forms as required Completes required audit paperwork based on job stage and equipment operated
Machine operating/assisting experience
Keen attention to detail including distinguishing color
Proficient communication skills including reading, writing and speaking in English
Basic computer skills
High school diploma or GED
Good mechanical aptitude with the ability to select and use appropriate equipment, supplies, and tools
Good math skills to be able to compute percentages, weights, and measures
Good detail and decision-making skills in order to set up equipment, check product quality and make adjustments to meet customer deadlines and requirements
Ability to setup computer-aided machinery and a solid understanding of Windows-based personal computers, including the ability to interface with a PC by inputting and outputting data and loading and unloading programs
Ability to communicate and interact effectively with others
If identified as a trainer, the ability to effectively train others
Ability to follow/interpret written and oral instructions and specifications
Must be security and safety oriented • Must be reliable through good attendance, punctuality, and cooperation
