The PST Electronic Materials business unit located in Orangeburg, NY provides services to the semiconductor industry, where we deliver the materials needed to keep the world connected.
Currently we have an opportunity available for an Industrial Maintenance Mechanic. Responsibilities will include but not limited to the following:
Coordinates and performs preventive and corrective maintenance on equipment and electro mechanical systems.
Works under regular supervision, utilizing somewhat diversified procedures and standards
Non-standard decisions reviewed with immediate supervisor and/or Plant Manager
Has some latitude for variations in sequences of, and within, procedures to deal with unusual or unanticipated aspects of required work

Performs routine repairs and preventive maintenance as scheduled

Utilizes hand and portable power tools and follows safe working practices through all steps of equipment repair and maintenance
May provide advice to management regarding equipment life and usage and in researching new equipment purchases

Coordinates and oversees the movement of furniture and/or materials and equipment as required

Maintain organization's production equipment. Perform electrical and/or mechanical troubleshooting and repairs in response to equipment errors or failures. Repairs and maintains, in accordance with diagrams, sketches, operation manuals, and manufacturer's specifications, machinery and mechanical equipment, such as die cutters, web and sheet-fed presses, inserting machines, folders, conveyor systems, bindery equipment etc. using hand tools, power tools, and precision measuring and testing instruments. May repair or reproduce parts using welders or machine tools such as lathes, milling machines, drill presses, surface grinders or other machine shop equipment.
Skill in installing, troubleshooting, repairing, overhauling, aligning, testing, and maintaining complex equipment and machinery. Advanced knowledge of equipment and machine control bodes in sufficient depth to trace symptoms of equipment malfunction and distinguish mechanical, pneumatic, and hydraulic failures from those which are electrical or electronic. Ability to make precise adjustments for alignment, parallelism, and concentricity due to the continuing effects of malfunctions throughout the entire machine or equipment. Ability to perform precise measurements of air and fluid pressure and flow, and knowledge of the mechanisms used to convert such readings into measurable units. Ability to interpret complex multiview drawings, sketches, wiring diagrams, manufacturers' specifications, and other technical material to isolate malfunctions in such devices as hydraulic pumps and motors, mechanical clamping devices, and electric or hydraulic axis drive and positioning systems. Advanced knowledge of construction and assembly techniques and the ability to manufacture replacement parts with complex configurations or assemble unique devices with unusual angular relationships. Knowledge of geometry, shop mathematics, and handbook formulas to provide for surfaces with interrelated dimensions and to calculate angles, clearances, fits, pressure, flow, and other parameters of interest.
Must be able to lift, pull and push 60 pounds frequently.

Runs reports as necessary.
Performs preventative maintenance and corrective repair work on water/wastewater/reclaim facilities and equipment.
Fabricates and machines repair parts for equipment, with the ability to weld steel, brass, and aluminum.
Operates lathes, mill/drill presses, welder and various other metal working power tools as needed.
May direct and/or oversee the work of other employees, provide instruction, guidance, and training as required.
Locates leaks, and detects defects in water/wastewater/reclaim equipment in conformance to established plans and standards.
Expected to temporarily perform duties outside normal classification in the event of a declared emergency.
Operates a personal computer and work in software programs associated with job.
Completes various maintenance jobs on buildings and grounds.

PURPOSE OF THE JOB:
To safely move finished & unfinished good throughout the plant
Supply aluminum shell & tab coils to production modules
Unload coil truck deliveries – up to three coils per truck
Dump garbage hopper into compactor
Accumulate and consolidate recycling materials
Move finished goods from production modules to the stretch wrapper & into warehouse
Tend to scrap baler – remove totes, stage empty totes, operate overhead hoist, band pallets of scrap bricks
Move totes of heads & tails from production modules to warehouse for recycling
Shovel scrap when baler is not functioning
Load/Unload balancer and move balancer trays to and from the warehouse
Pack ends into sleeves & build pallets of finished goods on manual packing station
Miscellaneous cleaning or power washing during equipment overhauls
Conduct re-work when we have finished goods in Hold For Inspection (HFI) status
Operate sweeper and floor scrubber
Load scrap brick, scrap slugs, and finished goods into trucks
Familiar with Personal Protective Equipment
Experience working in an industrial environment

Absence of any related duties or functions in this document does not imply that incumbent may be exempt from assignments required to support production. The primary responsibility of this position is to ensure external areas are maintained in a clean, safe, and presentable manner.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned as production demands may require.
Adhere to all safety, USDA, HACCP, and the plane rules and regulations.
Construct, maintain and test mechanical equipment, machinery and components
Identify parts or machines needing new or replacements parts
Utilize shop mathematics to complete assignments
Interpret drawings of equipment in order to properly adjust, maintain or repair the machinery
Respond to requests by production area when mechanical issues with equipment have been identified.
Communicate with production management and personnel to diagnose problems and to determine potential mechanical problems.
Performs preventative maintenance.
Complete assigned tasks with accuracy and efficiency, in regards to time as well as resources.
Performs other related duties as assigned to support production demands as may be specified by customer or client.

Education: Possess a high school degree or an approved GED. Associate degree in Industrial Maintenance, or equivalent, preferred, but not required.
Five years' experience in industrial electrical / mechanical maintenance preferred.
Must be able to operate and have knowledge of simple and complex heavy industrial equipment such as forklifts, scissors lifts, and boom lifts.
Must have working knowledge of the following: proper use of hand / power tools, shop math, pneumatics, power transmissions, parts nomenclature, measurements, and fasteners.

Must be able to work any shift as needed.

2019 INDUSTRIAL MAINTENANCE MECHANICAL APPRENTICESHIP
Quad is seeking Industrial Maintenance Mechanical Apprentices for our Sussex, Pewaukee, West Allis and Lomira, Wisconsin plant locations.
This is a 4-year, State of Wisconsin approved apprenticeship program that combines on-the-job training with classroom instruction at an approved technical college.
While in the plant, the mechanical apprentice will be responsible for the following:
Assisting with the installation, servicing and troubleshooting of production and support equipment.
Completing rotations through various maintenance departments; Quad Metal Works, Predictive, Mechanical Departments in Building, Press, Finishing and Automation.
Upon successful completion of the program, the position will be responsible for performing a wide variety of installation and repair work on mechanical systems.
The ideal candidate will possess the following qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent is required, as select candidates will be required to complete a standard admissions assessment at an approved technical college.
Strong verbal and written comprehension, with the ability to thrive in a team environment and work well under supervision.
The ability to work responsibly in a variety of environments, including at heights up to 50 feet.
Mechanical aptitude, strong math skills and basic computer skills, are highly desirable.
Experience or exposure in an advanced manufacturing environment or recent, skilled trade related classes is preferred but, not required.
Apprentices may be required to travel locally in order to complete program requirements, therefore, the ability to travel between our plants is essential.

I. Job Summary
Under general supervision, performs preventive maintenance services and inspects, diagnoses and repairs vehicles and equipment.
II. Essential Duties and Responsibilities
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Other minor duties may be assigned.
Works under limited supervision and selects from written instructions and established procedures to accomplish assigned tasks.
Performs repairs and assigned preventive maintenance services.
Performs inspection, diagnosis and repair of electrical, hydraulic, suspension, brake and air systems on vehicles and equipment.
Utilizes vehicle computer electronics systems to interpret failure modes to initiate or assign repairs.
Estimates time and material costs on vehicle repairs and requisitions new parts.
Performs all work within Standard Repair Times (SRTs).
Performs service calls for emergency breakdowns.
Conducts safety checks on vehicles.
Completes required paperwork utilizing fleet maintenance software program associated with repairing vehicles, documenting parts usage, and accounting for repair times.
Assists senior Mechanics in the completion of project work.
Reviews, completes or assigns repairs identified on Driver Vehicle Inspection Reports.
Maintains a clean, safe work area in compliance with Corporate / OSHA Standards, and performs all work in accordance with established safety procedures.
