Facilities Mechanical Engineer, Fire Life Safety Engineer, and Site Incident Prevention Program (SIPP) coordinator.
Responsible for overseeing and coordinating all construction fit-up activities to ensure compliance with the construction plans, schedules and safety procedures/policies.
Primary engineering responsibility for cooling towers, boilers, chillers, cooling water, compressors, air handlers, HVAC, Fire Life Safety, and admin bldg upkeep. Work effectively with facilities technicians, UPW technicians and facilities engineers to assist in safety reviews, work planning, operational support, system improvements, and task execution as required to support the factory with no unplanned interruptions.
Provide engineering support to facilities systems driving upgrade projects from concept to completion, as required for continuous improvement of the facilities system to ensure that support and services of the department meet the highest quality standards and performance.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Provide engineering support to Fire Life Safety system. Keep drawings and wiring diagram up to date. Communicate programming needs to programmer. Support sprinkler system work and testing.

Continuously review facility system operating conditions reviewing analytical data and/or evaluations and optimizing conditions for HVAC and facility piping systems.
Assist in training all facility technicians in the proper maintenance and operations of existing HVAC equipment, CDA equipment, chillers, boilers, vacuum pumps and associated piping systems.

Identify and provide training for Techs, Mechanics, and Service Equipment Operators on all aspects of troubleshooting site HVAC operations
Team with contract engineers and outside engineering/architect consultants to put together design specifications and drawings for construction packages
Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Facilities Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering or Architectural Engineering with a building systems or mechanical/HVAC concentration
Minimum 2 years of facilities operations experience
Operational experience using, installing, troubleshooting DDC and non-DDC HVAC control systems, including pneumatic controls
Demonstrated ability to design and troubleshoot various building systems such as process gases, steam and condensate, piping, pumps and pumping systems, chillers, cooling towers and HVAC systems, including hazardous exhaust
Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects, provide detailed lists of mechanical items/systems necessary to support the trades for construction of the project
Proficient troubleshooting of building mechanical and HVAC systems and ability to read and interpret engineering drawings
Working knowledge of ASHRAE, ACGIH, NYS Mechanical Code, NYS Fire Code, NYS Building Codes, NFPA and OSHA compliance requirements
Demonstrated proficient knowledge and use of Microsoft Office suite of programs

Six-Sigma Certified GB/BB/MBB
