The Johns Manville team in Etowah, TN is seeking a Mechanical Maintenance Supervisor to support the maintenance department in the care and maintenance for two mat machines and two furnaces to include the daily upkeep of the various associated equipment, as well as all facilities and fleet maintenance. In this role, the Mechanical Maintenance Supervisor will track and manage the required parts and materials to ensure all assets are running to their fullest potential. Direct and manage the daily work orders, PM's using SAP. Attend meetings to keep apprized to daily plant operations for planning outages and routine work. The Etowah, Tennessee plant houses two major furnaces and two glass mat lines. Molten glass is produced on both furnaces and converted to a continuous filament fiber. The fiber is chopped to a prescribed length and then used in various processes in the building industry.

Mechanical Maintenance Supervisor
The Maintenance Supervisor provides direction, coordination, and support for the daily execution of the maintenance crew's operating plan. Working with the Maintenance Manager, Maintenance Engineer, Planner, Maintenance Technicians, Operations, and Safety, the Maintenance Supervisor drives department productivity and quality of workmanship for the purpose of increasing overall availability and reliability of equipment. As a leader of the Maintenance Department, the Maintenance Supervisor reports to the Maintenance Manager.
Implements strategic vision for maintenance and reliability to correct, coordinate, and support plant maintenance functions by: (65%)
Developing and implementing plans to reduce breakdowns, improve planned maintenance, optimize scheduled maintenance, and effectively execute down-day events;
Maintaining the facility in a safe manner and to a standard level of equipment availability;
Reviewing and observing the work of the maintenance employees and directing development/training requirements;
Managing all maintenance wash up days;
Participating in the wash up day planning, half-time, and follow-up meetings;
Incorporating plant delay items into weekly wash ups;
Maintaining close contact with Maintenance Manager to ensure maintenance activities occur with minimal disruption to production operations;
Driving the analysis of all electrical and mechanical down time incidents to root cause;
Communicating individual, department, plant, and corporate performance to the maintenance technicians;
Recommending and implementing improvement in maintenance and operational procedures; and

Provides leadership to the Maintenance Technicians by driving the development, implementation, and sustainability of a predictive and preventative maintenance system by: (25%)

Leading the continual improvement and integration of the computerized maintenance management system (CMMS) into the maintenance and production work system;
Capturing and recording necessary equipment and material history;

Working with storeroom personnel to ensure the Company has the right parts, at the right price, when the part is needed.

The incumbent daily assigns projects and repairs and follows up with technical and/or physical assistance.
The incumbent is responsible for maintaining the mill in a functional, productive and safe operating condition. He is responsible to carry out the preventive maintenance program as related to cranes, machinery motors and other related equipment where routine adjustments are made and is available and adaptable to special problems which arise. The incumbent works closely with supervisors and superintendents within the company explaining and resolving maintenance problems.
The incumbent must also keep several reports including maintenance downtime log, work request log, and fab shop log, and records any changes that are made to the master plans.
The incumbent has several employee relations functions to perform such as merit reviews and recommends the hiring, disciplining and terminating of employees. The incumbent is responsible for maintaining records of attendance. The incumbent is responsible for training and orientation and must be able to communicate technical expertise in order to delegate responsibility to subordinates. The technical experience includes but is not limited to industrial hydraulics, understanding of mechanical, piping, and structural drawings, mechanical systems, water systems, rotating equipment, industrial automation, PLC's and HMI's.

The Global Cellulose Fibers Business is seeking an experienced engineer to provide maintenance and operational support for our new product development facilities within the Global Innovation Center (GIC) in Federal Way, WA. This is both a hands-on and leadership role, with responsibility for safely planning, conducting and documenting maintenance, repair and process development activities pertaining to laboratory and pilot-scale equipment and systems. GIC facilities and systems are dedicated to the development of innovative and sustainable cellulose fiber-based products and processes. Mechanical Maintenance Technician
- Troubleshoot, repair, hydraulic, pneumatic, and lubrication circuits
- Disassemble machinery and equipment to remove parts and make repairs.
- Repair and replace broken or malfunctioning components of machinery and equipment.
- Repair and maintain the operating condition of industrial production and processing machinery and equipment.
- Examine parts for defects such as breakage and excessive wear.
- Reassemble equipment after completion of inspections, testing, or repairs.
- Observe and test the operation of machinery and equipment in order to diagnose malfunctions, using voltmeters and other testing devices.
- Operate newly repaired machinery and equipment to verify the adequacy of repairs.
- Clean, lubricate, and adjust parts, equipment, and machinery.
- Analyze test results, machine error messages, and information obtained from operators in order to diagnose equipment problems.
- Record repairs and maintenance performed.
- Study blueprints and manufacturers' manuals to determine correct installation and operation of machinery.
- Record parts and materials used, and order or requisition new parts and materials as necessary.
- Cut and weld metal to repair broken metal parts, fabricate new parts, and assemble new equipment.
- Demonstrate equipment functions and features to machine operators.

Mechanical Maintenance Technican- 2Nd Shift
Responsible for installing, troubleshooting, repairing and maintaining electrical systems, PLC's, DC drives, AC inverters and electronic components of industrial machinery and equipment by performing the following duties.

Ability to install electrical wiring and conduit for newly installed machines and equipment such as robots, conveyors and programmable controllers.
Ability to diagnose and repair malfunctioning apparatus such as transformers, motors, lighting fixtures, etc.
Diagnose and repair faulty electronic components, such as printed circuit boards.
Ability to diagnose and repair faulty mechanical, hydraulic and pneumatic components of machines and equipment.
Ability to plan layout of wiring and install wiring, conduit and electrical apparatus in the building.
Ability to weld and fabricate.
Knowledge of boilers and chillers.
Other duties as assigned.
Basic Qualifications (Include education, experience, special skills and licenses or certifications required):
High school diploma or General Education Degree (GED).
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
Ability to speak effectively before groups or employees of the organization.
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram or schedule form.
A minimum of four to six years of mechanical experience and/or a state license, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
One year certificate from college or technical school and/or a state license.
Safety conscious, 5S driven, and recommends safety corrections immediately.
Produces excellent quality work.
Engaged to meet production goals regularly.
Participates in team initiatives yet self-motivated.
