Under general supervision, performs routine and non-routine chemical and/or metallurgical analytical tasks at assigned site.
Prepare samples for analysis/run tests using appropriate techniques and perform sample preparation for quality control program
Perform routine chemical and/or metallurgical analysis and reporting
Provide operation diagnostics and adjustments for tests and analytical equipment

Establish Electro Static Discharge (ESD) certification of work stations throughout the facility and maintaining a record of due dates and expirations.
Sets up ESD certification of new work stations as they are deployed.
Responsible for all chemical material used in production.
Keeps shelf life information current.
Keeps records of inventory in production.
Works in compliance with the Health and Safety procedures.
Maintains inventory of adequate supplies for spare parts for process equipment.
Performs routine maintenance on process equipment per Solumina Preventive Maintenance process.
Assembles benches, cart and shelving for the Production floor.
Installs and maintains dry nitrogen hoses and guns at all the assembly work stations.
Maintains the chemical storage area.
Performs other maintenance and repair tasks when necessary.
AA degree or other 2 year technical degree in related discipline with 0 years of experience; 2 years of experience maybe considered in-lieu of degree.
Must be able to troubleshoot and repair various production process equipment.
Must have good mechanical skills.
Must have basic understanding of electrical theory.

The AccessioningTechnician 1 duties shall include but are not limited to the following:
Assist Licensed TestingPersonnel in the performance of screening or confirmation tests in accordancewith laboratory policies and procedures.
Perform inventory and order laboratory suppliesas authorized.
Follow all new and revised lab procedures after traininghas been approved by the Laboratory Director or designee and authorization bythe Chief Toxicologist /Technical Supervisor, Lab Director, Operations and
Technology, Lab QA Manager/General Supervisor or the Laboratory DepartmentManagers.
Assist Licensed Testing Personnel in maintaininglab equipment to manufacturer specifications.
Provide assistance, training and support fornewly hired Unlicensed Testing Personnel as authorized.
Perform any and allother duties as may be requested by the Chief Toxicologist /TechnicalSupervisor, Lab Director, Operations and Technology, Lab QA Manager/GeneralSupervisor or the Laboratory Department Managers.
The basic responsibilities of the AccessioningTechnician 1 are to assist in the performance of drug screening andconfirmation testing and reporting in an accurate and timely manner inaccordance with the procedures established by Redwood ToxicologyLaboratory.
The Accessioning Technician 1 shall perform onlythose testing procedures that are authorized by the Laboratory Director thatrequire skill commensurate with the individual's education, training orexperience, and technical abilities.
Each Accessioning Technician 1 must:
Follow the laboratory's procedures for specimenhandling and processing;
Follow the laboratory's procedures forperforming test analysis which include quantitatively measuring samples andreagents done automatically by the instrument in the course of its normaloperation or by the use of previously calibrated and approved automaticsyringes or other dispensers.
Operate laboratory equipment that was initiallystandardized or calibrated and periodically checked for performance bymonitoring results of appropriate standards and controls, by licensedlaboratory personnel.
Read and record results which are doneautomatically by the instrument in the form of a digital read-out, print-out,or a recording mechanism onto pre-calibrated charts.
Follow the laboratory's established applicablecorrective action policies and procedures whenever test systems are not withinthe laboratory's established acceptable levels of performance.
Be capable of identifying problems that may adversely affect test performanceand report potential problems to the Department Manager/Shift Supervisor orLicensed testing Personnel.
STANDARDS OF PERFORMANCE
The Accessioning Technician 1 will be deemed to be performing in a satisfactory manner when:
All lab testing results are performed within expected turnaround times.
All laboratory standard operating procedures are followed.
All work is performed with a high degree of accuracy.
The completion of work as specified in the principal duties is performed in a timely fashion.
A rating of "Meets Performance Requirements" or higher has been attained in two of the last three employee evaluations.
In order to qualify for the position of Accessioning Technician 1, the individual must:
Have earned a minimum of a high school diploma or equivalent; and
Have documentation of training and has satisfactorily demonstrated to the laboratory director the ability to engage in such activities such as: labeling, centrifuging and transferring specimens, transcribing results which have previously been recorded either manually or electronically, preparing equipment and reagents provided the following conditions exist:
When manual methods are employed in the performance of clinical laboratory tests licensed personnel, other than trainees, must perform any test or part thereof which involves the quantitative measurement of the specimen or test reagent, or any mathematical calculation relative to determining the results or the validity of a test procedure, except that:
- When mechanical and electronic instruments are used in the performance of clinical laboratory tests licensed personnel, other than trainees, must:
- Initially standardize or calibrate the instrument and periodically check its performance by monitoring results of appropriate standards and controls.
- Read and record results unless this is done automatically by the instrument in the form of a digital read-out or a recording mechanism onto pre-calibrated charts.
- Quantitatively measure all samples and reagents unless done automatically by the instrument in the course of its normal operation or by the use of previously calibrated and approved automatic syringes or other dispensers.
