Job Summary
AECOM is seeking a qualified Aircraft Sheet metal Mechanic at the Corpus Christi Army Depot.
The Aircraft Mechanic I troubleshoots malfunctions in aircraft structure, landing gear, flight surfaces and controls, anti-icing, pneudraulic, engines, auxiliary power unit, and ventilation and heating systems. This mechanic repairs, replaces, and rebuilds aircraft structures, such as wings and fuselage, and functional components including rigging, surface controls, and plumbing and hydraulic units, using hand tools, power tools, machines, and equipment such as shears, sheet metal brake, welding equipment, rivet gun, and drills.
This worker reads and interprets manufacturers' and airline's maintenance manuals, service bulletins, technical data, engineering data, and other specifications to determine feasibility and method of repairing or replacing malfunctioning or damaged components.
This mechanic performs 100-hour, progressive, isochronal, phase, periodic, and other hourly or calendar inspections, examines reciprocating engines for cracked cylinders and oil leaks, and listens to operating engine to detect and diagnose malfunctions, such as sticking or burnt valves, inspects jet engines and components for cracks, corrosion, foreign object damage, burned areas, distortions, security, warping, wear, and missing segments. Inspects jet engine turbine blades to detect cracks, distortion, corrosion, burn-out, security, or breaks, tests engine operation, using testing equipment, such as ignition analyzer, compression checker, distributor timer, ammeter, and jet calibration (Jetcal) tester, to locate source of malfunction.
Work involves: replacing or repairing worn or damaged components, such as carburetors, alternators, magnetos, fuel controls, fuel pumps, oil pumps, and engine mounted gearboxes, and compressor bleed valves using hand tools, gauges, and testing equipment; removing engine from aircraft, using hoist or forklift truck, disassembling and inspecting parts for wear, cracks, security, or other defects, and repairing or replacing defective engine parts and reassembles and installs engine in aircraft.
Job duties require that this mechanic: adjusts, repairs, or replaces electrical wiring system and aircraft accessories, performs preflight, thru-flight, and post-flight maintenance inspections, performs miscellaneous duties to service aircraft, including flushing crankcase, cleaning screens and filters, greasing moving parts, and checking brakes. This incumbent supervises the jacking and towing of aircraft, enters in the maintenance records description of the work performed and verifies the work was performed satisfactorily, may service engines and airframe components at line station making repairs, short of overhaul, required to keep aircraft in safe operating condition, may specialize in work, repair and modification of structural, precision, and functional spare parts and assemblies, and may specialize in engine repair.
This worker may be required to be licensed by Federal Aviation Administration.
Working Conditions:
Works inside hanger in all types of weather. Subject to cold, heat, and drafts. Danger of cuts, bruises, scrapes, burns, and electrical shock. Job involves limited assembly and repairs while working under the guidance of a higher graded electronics mechanic.

Uses common measuring tools, precision measuring gages and alignment fixtures to perform structural repairs.
Uses and performs operator maintenance on common and special tools.
Prepares forms and records related to aircraft maintenance.
As required, instructs military and other personnel in all phases of incumbent's assigned duties and responsibilities.
Knowledge and use of special tools/equipment required to perform assigned maintenance tasks is mandatory.
Must be able to meet physical requirements associated with and/or pass any medical examination requirements related to performing daily assigned tasks.
This is a requirement in order to obtain a CAC card.
Perform all other position related duties as assigned or requested.

Role Summary:
The Global Commodity Leader – Metal Stampings and Aluminum Extrusions is responsible for all strategic sourcing activities for the commodity and serves as the functional lead for all new product introductions for related platforms. These activities include contract negotiation, supplier selection, competitive quoting, market benchmarking, and development / execution of cost out programs, which deliver value-added benefits for the supply chain.
Essential Responsibilities:
In addition, as the Global Commodity Leader – Metal Stampings and Aluminum Extrusions, you will:
Create and lead the commodity procurement strategy including selecting preferred primary and secondary suppliers for each commodity based on business objectives, developing a process to communicate those selections to design teams, and enforcing adherence to that strategy
Leverage the strategy you create to drive reduced lead times, consolidation of common and similar components, as well as achieving variable cost productivity, cash flow, and controllership goals
Lead the supplier selection, qualification, development, and overall supplier management, including managing the entire contract life cycle from Request for Proposal to supplier exit
Negotiate supply agreements with strategic suppliers to ensure supply of critical components where necessary
Balance strategy development with the tactical execution necessary to deliver cost reduction projects through contract negotiation, process changes, and implementation of sustainable cost controls, including collaboration with Finance to validate the impact of projects and contract negotiations to the general ledger
Develop technical and market expertise in Metal and Aluminum and building supplier relationships
Use acquired expertise to become a resource for NPI teams to design cost effective solutions that meet their design requirements as well as supply chain and commercial objectives
Develop a model for estimating the manufacturing capacity of each part to support ramp up investment discussions
Closely monitor supplier performance to plan and work with the suppliers to manage any required recovery plans / actions
Coordinate with factories and suppliers to ensure supply meets any and all demand requirements
Hold performance reviews with suppliers as needed
Conduct Capacity Audits, track any Red Flags that impede supplier performance and control revisions at Suppliers
Analyze and negotiate quotes from multiple suppliers to develop "best in class" and "best in design" performance needs
Work with Product Line Sourcing Leaders, Fulfillment Leaders, Technology, and Product Management to execute programs to meet business objectives and meet customer needs
Update MRP systems with appropriate supplier inputs (e.g., cost, lead-time, supplier selections, MOQs, ROPs, safety stocks, etc.) for each program
Conduct program milestone reviews to identify risks within the programs and mitigate those risks prior to launch

5+ years Purchasing experience, preferably in automotive (Not mandatory)
