Principal Duties and Responsibilities
May perform routine test article/product preparation and execute routine testing and perform routine calculations per NAMSA SOPs and work instructions.
Accurately collects and records raw data in logbooks and on worksheets.
May be responsible for checking laboratory equipment, being on-call and respond to continuous monitoring alarms as applicable. If needed, the Associate will respond in accordance with criteria outlined in Standard Operating Procedures.
May be required to perform personal gowning environmental testing, and submit organisms from gowning, environmental and sterility test positives for identification and inclusion in monthly trending data, as required for specific testing as applicable.
May be required to operate autoclave, depyrogenation oven or other specified laboratory equipment.
May perform Kinetic-Chromogenic LAL testing.
May perform Environmental Monitoring, clean and disinfect cleanroom suites.

High School diploma or equivalent required and at least 4 years of experience, or Bachelor degree and no experience
Sound judgment with effective decision making skills and the ability to solve problems or escalate as needed
Awareness of applicable guidelines and regulations including, but not limited to USP, ISO, CTFA, FSA.
Knowledge of metric system, NAMSA GLP and/or GMP testing, scientific applications, experimental design, and data evaluation.

About the Job
The Microbiologist position is responsible for assay development and performing a full range of examinations and analyses, recording, interpreting, and result reporting of tests on human body fluids, tissues, clinical specimens, and microbiological isolates. A Day in the Life
- Will apply in-depth knowledge and skills in the areas of assay development
- Will perform laboratory associated assays or the ability to learn these techniques upon successful completion of proficiency testing.
- Will be conducting examination of samples and/or reference samples for analyses such as, but not limited to, molecular analysis, serological analysis, isolation and identification of microorganisms or their antigens/nucleic acids;
- Will be developing methodology for the examination of samples and/or reference samples for analyses such as, but not limited to, molecular and serological analysis, isolation and identification of microorganisms or their antigens/nucleic acids;
- Daily participation in evaluation, development, validation and implementation of new testing methods used in clinical/reference laboratory work, as well as preparation of validation documents and SOPs;
- Evaluate, interpret, and validate laboratory results and reports findings.
- Maintain laboratory record system of submitted samples and specimens and their possible referral.
- Conduct quality control checks on laboratory methods, materials, and equipment in strict adherence to the laboratory's quality control policies.
- Maintain an inventory of laboratory supplies and order as needed to ensure testing needs are met.
- Assist in preparations of epidemiological and/or statistical reports from data compiled on a daily, weekly, monthly, or annual basis.

AMMT at this level carries out the day-to-day operations in the microbiology department and facilitates team or unit processes by working in collaboration with team members to ensure that tasks, priorities, goals needs, and achievements are coordinated with management. This would include routine testing, quality control, routine maintenance of instrumentation and troubleshooting.
The MT develops, performs, evaluates, interprets, correlates, and validates the accuracy of laboratory procedures and results ensuring all laboratory regulatory requirements are met. Testing procedures are performed on a variety of biological specimens and/or environmental samples using manual and automated techniques, following practices and regulations governing biosafety and biosecurity in the workplace.
The incumbent at this level performs more complex laboratory functions. Duties may include specific targeted laboratory responsibilities or projects such as laboratory safety officer, analyzer specialist, or quality control file maintenance. - 3:30p with rotating weekends & holidays; possible occasional evenings.
Bachelor's degree in Medical Technology or related discipline and
Documentation of twelve (12) hours of continuing education per year is required
LICENSURE/CERTIFICATION/REGISTRATION: MT (ASCP), or equivalent, relevant to the discipline, is preferred
- Two (2) years of experience is preferred

We are seeking a Medical Technologist to join or Microbiology team at the Dublin, OH lab. Prior experience in Clinical Microbiology required, as is the ability work independently.
Technologist/Technician Microbiology job duties:
Performs routine and complex technical procedures and functions according to departmental Standard Operating Procedures.
Monitors, operates and troubleshoots instrumentation such as but not limited to Vitek 2, Vitek Mass Spectrometers, Microscan, Euroimmune workstation, Cepheid, BacT alert.
Demonstrates the ability to make technical decisions regarding testing and problem solving.
Able to resolve technical, computer, and customer service problems within the Microbiology department.
Must be flexible with time and adaptable to change.
Ability to deliver quality patient care while maintaining efficiency.
Strong organization skills are required.
Performs preventive maintenance and quality control with appropriate documentation and communication.
Assists in processing of specimens when needed.
Required to complete at least twelve hours of medical/technical continuing education annually.
Demonstrates the initiative and ability to provide feedback that is useful and assists in individual improvement.
Assists with the Medical Laboratory Science students on rotation in the department.
Promotes a cohesive and positive work environment and identifies resolutions to improve moral.
Demonstrates the ability to communicate respectfully with coworkers, staff, customer service and clients.
Maintains a safe environment. Wears appropriate personal protective equipment as designated by lab area
License/Certification/Education: This position requires a Medical Technologist Degree or equivalent and city/state licenses or permits to qualify as a Technologist w/1-3 years experience in a Clinical Laboratory.

As a Microbiology Technologist, you will perform stat and routine microbiology and/or serology testing under the direction of a Laboratory Supervisor, Manager or Director. You will also perform duties consistent with written procedures and regulatory requirements and apply theoretical concepts of laboratory medicine using independent judgement to ensure timely and accurate results.

You Should Have:
A 2 Year/Associate Degree, Science Post Graduate Degree
A 4 Year/Bachelor's Degree in Medical Technology is preferred
A State of Florida Technologist License OR the ability to obtain a license during the interview process
Experience in Microbiology and experience with Serology/Immunology
3 or more years of experience in a clinical laboratory setting and at least 2 years in a microbiology setting
You should be available to work during disasters
The ability to frequently stand, bend, reach, squat, kneel, move, and lift patients and/or equipment up to 50 pounds

The Clinical Microbiology Lab is seeking an experienced Laboratory Technologist / Microbiologist to join their team. We have invested in cutting edge technology in this lab and have a strong focus upon molecular sequencing.
Perform technical duties related to the work of the clinical microbiology service: bacteriology, mycology, mycobacteriology, parasitology, serology, virology and molecular microbiology
Maintain complete, accurate, legible, neat, organized, up-to-date records/logs/files,
Assure the accuracy of all tests performed by adhering to the laboratory's Standard Operating Procedures
Perform routine and advanced equipment maintenance
Contribute to the upkeep and safety of the laboratory and assures a clean, safe, adequately supplied work area
Participate in the laboratory inventory program that provides adequate inventories of reagents and supplies
Create and help maintain an environment that places emphasis on safety in accordance with New York State DOH, Joint Commission, OSHA and CLIA regulations
Provide direction, training, and feedback on routine laboratory procedures, as assigned
A Bachelor's Degree in Medical Technology or Clinical Laboratory Sciences
A NY State Clinical Laboratory Technologist License
2+ years experience working as a Microbiologist in a clinical laboratory
Excellent computer, verbal and written communication skills
ASCP certification preferred
Hours of work:
37.5 hours per week
NIGHT SHIFT and evening shift
Weekend and holiday rotation coverage required
