Camera Control Operator
The University of Virginia Police Department is seeking highly qualified applicants to fill multiple openings for Camera Control Operators. Camera Control Operators provide support to public safety agencies such as police, fire and EMS responding to incidents in and around the University.
This position will be expected to independently operate software programs, monitor radio traffic access control systems intrusion detection systems and utilize security camera resources to enhance response to incidents. Camera Control Operators must be able to effectively communicate with public safety agencies, work well under pressure and may be required to testify in court.
A High School Diploma or equivalent is required, preference will be given to applicants with some college education. Previous work or volunteer experience dealing with individuals from diverse backgrounds is required.
Applicants must possess a Valid Drivers License and have the ability to obtain a Virginia Drivers License. The North Carolina Administrative Office of the Courts (NCAOC), Court Services Division, is seeking a qualified individual to review document images created by the 100 Clerk of Superior Court offices. A Micrographics Services Assistant maintains the imaging equipment used by the clerks and assists the clerks in making necessary corrections to the images produced, and ensures images are preserved in accordance with the records retention schedule.
Duties include but are not limited to the following:
Conduct quality control on scanned images.
Create duplicates of CDs for distribution to the Clerk's office.
Copy images to microfilm for preservation.
Retrieve case files and document images from CDs and reels upon request.
Interact with the clerks' staff for all 100 counties.
Assist in training of 100 counties in scanning documents to CDs.
Occasional travel to counties across the state or other government agencies to pick up or deliver microfilm reels or scanning equipment.
This position reports to the Records Manager. Normal work hours are 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM, Monday - Friday.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities / Competencies
Knowledge of: image scanning and creating CDs.
Skills in: MS Word, Excel, and Outlook; image scanning software and hardware; creating compact disc and microfilm images; and quality control.
