We use camera equipment to quickly and conveniently complete inspections from the street level of customer’s site. These inspections are used to mark the sewer/storm utilities so that we can prevent damage during construction.
Essential Functions: (Based upon level of position, not all functions may apply)
- Understanding of the electronic and mechanical processes cameras use to film or to capture photos.
- Calibrating specific camera components to disassemble and repairing electrical and mechanicals parts.
- Providing useful and detailed reports.
- Monitoring the location of all the equipment from above ground.
- Providing customers with updated information.
- Operating the remote-controlled sewer camera.

Working Environment/Physical Demands:
The position lifts heavy objects, walks and stands for long periods of time and perform strenuous physical labor under adverse field conditions. Will be lifting, pushing, pulling or carries heavy objects; using abdominal and lower back muscles to provide support. Must have good manual dexterity, hand-eye coordination and balance. The employee is occasionally exposed to a variety of extreme conditions at construction job sites. The noise level in the work environment and job sites can be loud.

Posting Summary: The University of Virginia Police Department is looking to fill the position of Camera Control Operator. The purpose of this position is to provide surveillance support and information for police, security and other emergency responders for criminal and/or other emergency incidents. Description The position would consist of operating robotic closed-circuit television equipment in sewers and manholes. The essential duties and responsibilities of the position include, but not limited to:
Adhere to all safety practices, procedures and policies.
Operate TV camera for initial pre-inspection of existing pipe.
Maneuver cutter equipment to reinstate lateral services.
Complete post-inspection of newly installed liner in pipe for any defects.

Engineering REPORTS TO: Manager, Broadcast Operations Camera Operator (Engineer) Basic operation, setup, and cabling of the cameras including but not limited to: properly plugging in fiber cable; smoothly zooming, panning, and tilting; viewfinder operation including setting markers, viewing effects. Operator must have ability to follow instructions from News Director regarding various shot selections required for the broadcast; be attentive through the entire show; set the scripted shots in a timely manner; react quickly to last minute changes and direction.
Have the ability to quickly move the camera and pedestal to a new position, focus and set the shot. The operator must also be able to stand operating the camera for an extended period of time, due to the length of the production, before getting a break. Must be able lift, carry, and operate a hand held camera.
This includes but is not limited to: properly framing shots; be able to provide a variety of shots (low, high, etc.); holding focus while moving; filter selection. Vision Camera Operator is an important role in the daily operations of our facilities. The successful candidate will ensure that Cargill gets the best possible value from each carcass. This position is responsible for the correct sortation of carcasses in the sales cooler, which includes identifying the most profitable destination for a carcass. One must enter all information accurately in the computer for payment and cooler destination.
