Assists in receiving of all incoming loads, such as cream, condense, etc. Responsible for connecting, disconnecting and CIPing all trucks. This position is required to perform all master sanitation items, including cleanup of the receiving office, the receiving bays and other Master Sanitation items as assigned by the shift supervisor. Connects and transfers product internally within the plant. For example; pump buttermilk, cream, etc. Inspect tanks, tankers and equipment as assigned by a production supervisor. Required to climb stairs, ladders and work in confined spaces. Employee will be subject to temperatures ranging from 50 degrees F to 130 degrees F. Responsible for training new hires and employees as needed. Act quickly to reduce or eliminate product loss. RESPONSIBLE FOR: Working side-by-side their receiving team in the warehouse to make sure all inbound material is received quickly and tracked throughout the warehouse and production floor accurately. To do so, The Receiving Lead owns and manages unloading trucks, counting/verifying/labeling material, resolving discrepancies and controlling inventory by overseeing the put-away, transfer and cycle count processes. DELEGATES TO: Team Members in assigned department areas COLLABORATES WITH: Fellow Team Leaders, Production Management, and Materials SPECIFIC DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES: * Responsible for the direct oversight of the receiving department. * Reviews daily and weekly shipping schedules and production capabilities to assure all deadlines are met, checking running orders to determine schedule priorities. * Maintains safe working environment by ensuring staff wears required safety gear and follows safety protocols at all times. * Holds self and team fully accountable to getting all inbound material received quickly and tracked accurately. * Displays respect and dignity through team member communications promoting the company's World Class cultural work environment. * Builds relationships to get to know team members and establishes an environment of trust with and between the teams. * Attentive to new hires, active in the onboarding training plan, ensures their proper development within the company culture and initiatives. * Demonstrates fairness and consistency in all TM decisions and action items. * Leads effective morning tailgate meetings by getting the team ready for the days run, reflecting and learning from prior days performance. * Ensures trucks are unloaded efficiently and manages labor to help with volume increases. * Directs staff to count, verify, and label all boxes correctly. * Communicates/updates management of daily problems and concerns, identifying areas needing attention to ensure the continuity of production. * Ensures data in system matches physical counts and ensures all receiving documentation filed properly. * Investigates the root cause of defects and scrap, implementing corrective action plans. * Works with material managers to resolve discrepancies when shipments do not match POs or when material arrives damaged. * Interacts with the quality control inspector to facilitate inbound sampling and specification testing. * Oversees put-away process to ensure material is stored efficiently and clustered by project. * Responds to phone calls quickly and follows up persistently until all issues are fully resolved in a timely manner. * Inventories and replenishes all receiving supplies. * Calibrates and maintains equipment on schedule. * Takes immediate action when expectations are not being met and gives recognition to high performers. * Takes pride in maintaining an exceptionally clean and organized warehouse.
