The Mechanical Engineer position is responsible for a wide variety of manufacturing process and mechanical engineering activities in a specific production department. He/she has responsibility for coordinating and implementing Lean Manufacturing principles across the department's material flow paths, and must gain a complete view and understanding of the area's manufacturing production centers and processes to be successful.
The Mechanical Engineer will focus on tactical projects in the areas of safety, recovery improvement, machine reliability, training, and production. This position will utilize project management tools for coordinating efforts on process improvements, including capital improvement and sustaining projects, and will support and lead the execution of problem solving efforts related to process and machine improvements. Although the person in this position works primarily daytime shifts M-F, it is expected that they work off-shifts and/or weekends as needed to support the functions of this role.

JOB PURPOSE AND REPORTING STRUCTURE
Under the direction of the Operations Superintendent and Shift Lead, the General Mill Hand supports the finishing and casting operations. General Mill Hands must be flexible and willing to work any shift as needed to train and fill in for others on vacation or leave and/or to support production requirements. The General Mill Hand must be willing to transfer into open positions as they arise, either on a temporary or regular basis.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Performs the required tasks safely and efficiently, following all safety rules to protect self and others.
Operates industrial saws used for processing of metal material.
Follows routing instructions and uses various measuring instruments to ensure material is cut to the correct specifications.
Operates fork lifts and overhead crane to move material and load or unload storage racks while observing the weight capacities.
Operates the Annealing and Aging Ovens, including entering the profiles required per the routing. This also includes the use of thermocouples, the loading and unloading of the ovens using the manipulator, forklift and/or crane.
Loads and unloads trucks as required.
Enters work performed into SAP system, ensuring accuracy in time and weight applied.
Operates the induction melting furnace and all support functions pertaining to that operation. This includes charge preparation, preparing set-ups, monitoring temperatures, performing dimensional inspection on castings, and cleanliness of the work area.
Assists in the set-up of the casting lines.
Operates the cut off saws on the casters.
Supports the starting sequence of the casting process, which may include preparing the alloy that is being cast and interacting with Lab Technicians. Initiates the first and subsequent pours to produce the required casting orders.
Ensures that all required components of the next scheduled casting jobs and charge material required are prepared in advance to ensure smooth shift transition.
Work area is cleaned and organized daily.

6.* Position Summary: This position is responsible for ensuring quality and proper presentation of food orders.
Assemble according to recipes and procedures to avoid waste. Line is always stocked, neat, clean and safe.
FRY & APPETIZER: Preparation of recipes and plate presentations correctly set up according to tickets for all fried items, chips, fries, and appetizers. Following pars accurately, and completing daily/weekly cleaning and maintenance of fryers/cheese melter. Follows hold time standards for all fried products. Sometimes preps food items needed immediately on kitchen line.
WINDOW: Reads tickets, pulls product from window in order specified on ticket, calls side items and any special instructions, coordinates and communicates with grill cooks. Sometimes preps food items needed immediately on kitchen line. Always cautious of lead ticket time and getting food out in the High 5 Priority ticket times.
POTATO: Ensures proper placement of side items on plate while noting any special instructions, ensures that freshly toasted buns for burgers and sandwiches are available to grill cooks when needed, places rice sets in window (if necessary) and preps rice to recipe as needed. Ensures proper potato rotation in ovens. Follows proper hold times standards for all heated products. Sometimes preps food items needed immediately on kitchen line.
GARNISH AND PRESENTATION: Confirms proper placement of product, side items and any special instructions, places butter in potatoes, places brown sugar-cinnamon mixture and butter in sweet potatoes, changes plates and/or wipes excess fluids from plate and garnishes, places order in expo window in proper order according to computer ticket. Sometimes preps food items needed immediately on kitchen line.

Spar mill operator's setup, operate and adjust numerous types of Numerically Controlled (NC) multiple tool spar milling machines, utilizing pre-planned control media and/or program documents. NC Spar Mill Operators machine close tolerance, high quality spars for aircraft assembly. A graduate NC Spar Mill Operator will have the knowledge of all facets of spar fabrication. An NC Spar Mill Operator receives training in all phases of conventional and NC/CNC milling machines, including skin and spar mills and layout, shot peen operations, hand work, heat treat, tank lines, assembly, prep, and spar handling processes.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Prepare to set-up job (e.g., production orders, first lots, tool tryouts, and tape tryouts) or run previously set-up job by reviewing work order, tie-in sheets, load boards, operator's or setup documents, and drawings.
Ensure that the correct work order, drawings, operator documents, program, and part are at the machine for the media to be run.
Ensure that the tools or fixtures are free from visible defects.
Operate electric stackers and overhead cranes, as required, to move material/parts and tools.

Dimensionally check key features, as required, using precision measuring tools (e.g., digital micrometer, calipers, and dial indicators).
Handle and dispose of hazardous materials (e.g., coolants, solvents) in approved manner (per Material Safety Data Sheets) using personal protective equipment as required.

CNC Mill Operator
Set up and operate CNC vertical and horizontal mills. Operate mills to perform a series of machining operations such turning, boring, threading, facing, grinding, drilling and tapering on round bars.
Work from complex blueprints, engineering drawings, and specifications, job orders, tooling instructions and standard charts to obtain such specifications as dimensions, tolerances, and tooling instructions. Make required adjustments to machinery to compensate for material tooling, machine or program conditions. Troubleshoot and resolve various types of operating difficulties, recommend corrective action on process failures within the department. Determine correct cutting tool to use to achieve required dimensions and finish tolerances; be able to measure finish using micrometers and other associated tools; be able to hold tight tolerances within .001"; be able to maintain proper and accurate records, including inspection reports.

Reads blueprints, sketches, drawings, manuals, specifications, or sample part to determine dimensions and tolerances of finished workpiece, sequence of operations, and setup requirements.
Measures, marks, and scribes dimensions and reference points on material or workpiece as guides for subsequent machining.
Selects, aligns, and secures holding fixtures to the work table. Is able to probe fixtures and check datum set points for accuracy. Understands all the attachments, accessories, and materials used to clamp parts onto the fixtures.
Is able to determine cutting tools sizes and verify they are correct for the application per work instructions.
Uses overhead cranes and/or forklifts to move parts and rings.
Calculates and sets controls to regulate machining factors such as speed, feed, coolant flow, and depth and angle of cut. Is able to enter commands to retrieve program files and execute. Must have a basic understanding of CNC programming and has the ability to read and understand computerized machine control media.
Starts and observes machine operation to detect malfunctions or out-of-tolerance machining, and adjusts machine controls or control media as required.
Verifies conformance of finished workpiece to specifications.
Sets up and operates machine on trial run to verify accuracy of machine settings or programmed control data.
Confers with engineers, planners, metallurgists, programmers, or others to resolve machining problems.
Writes Statistical Process Control (SPC) charts; clean and maintain machine and tools; and grind tools and accessories.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
Two year certificate from college or technical school; or three to five years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports. Ability to speak effectively before supervisors or employees of Company.
Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.
Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
Familiarity with all tools and equipment in a machine shop, including drill press, tool grinders, power saws, belt sanders, various measuring tools, shovel, broom, tape readers and punches, etc.

- Operate computer controlled machines to perform one or more machine functions.
Duties & Responsibilities:
Measure dimensions of finished work pieces to ensure conformance to specification, using precision measuring instruments and fixtures.
Remove and replace dull cutting tools
Install, align and secure tools, fixtures and work pieces on machines using hand tools and precision measuring instruments.
Listen to machines during operation in order to detect sounds such as those made by dull cutting tools or excessive vibration and adjust machines to compensate for problems.
Adjust machine feed and speed, change cutting tools or adjust machine controls when automatic programming is faulty or if machines malfunction.
Stop machines to remove finished work pieces or to change tooling, setup or work piece placement, according to required machining sequences.
Lift work pieces to machines manually
Modify cutting programs to account for problems encountered during operation and save modified programs.
Calculate machine speed, feed ratios, the size and position of cuts.
Insert control instructions into machine control units to start operation.
- Prior CNC Mill experience in Aerospace
- High School Diploma/GED
- 5 years current aerospace lathe experience
