Performs repairs and Preventive Maintenance. Schedules Preventive Maintenance and coordinates with production and operations. This is a hands-on Supervisor and will be expected to troubleshoot and perform some amount of hands-on maintenance.
Identifies and takes action on continuous improvement efforts in the areas of machine uptime, safety, and productivity.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities
Preventative Maintenance activities are available and on-site.
Schedules work, provides assignments with estimates to completion, conducts follow-ups and communicates with superiors, subordinates and peers.
Collects cost information, develops preventive maintenance procedures, performs employee supervisory activities (including timekeeping), and identifies areas for continuous improvement.
Assists in developing and implementing the capital planning, plant equipment procurement and installation, design and operations needs of the facility.
Training & Development – Set-up training programs to cross-train and re-train employees for their day-to-day tasks. Provide opportunities for employees to grow professionally and personally.
o Conduct daily crew meetings that focus on safety, planning, quality, and company policies and culture
o Managing External Resources – At times experts in certain fields are required to complete repairs, installations, etc. Ability to contact these individuals and companies, procure quotes for defined activities, and execute the work.

The WVU Extension Service (WVUES) is seeking applications for a Maintenance Worker II position at their Jackson's Mill facility, located in Weston WV. This position provides service and support to clientele of Jackson's Mill State 4-H Camp that supports numerous youth camps and the State Fire Training Academy by providing a safe, secure environment for scheduled activities in meetings, seminars, conferences and other events.
In order to be successful in this position, the ideal candidate will:
Perform commercial cleaning and security of grounds, buildings and equipment.
Systematically check and secure all buildings following stipulated procedures.
Report any questionable, inappropriate or illegal activities, requests unwanted guests to leave, contacts Leadership Team Member on call for assistance as necessary.
Communicates with 911 Center, local volunteer fire department and staff about fire alarm issues as needed. Monitor airstrip usage as needed.
Carry a working radio at all times for communication.

Attend various training classes and other meetings to learn new techniques and procedures to remain current in all safety requirements and for professional development as needed.
Notifies supervisor of equipment and facilities needing repairs or replacement and of potential safety violations.
Operates a motor vehicle in the performance of duties. Maintains upkeep of such vehicles by replacing wipers, belts, gas, oil, etc. Maintain log of vehicle repairs for each vehicle.
