We’re hiring for a full-time Feed Mill Operator. You will be handling all daily operations including mixing, movement, inventory and storing of 950,000 bushels. You will be performing light maintenance as well as supervising two drivers. Depending on the season you will assist in other areas on the farm.

Tend to one or more mills that grind materials, such as rock/ore, using chemical reagents and steel balls to achieve required grindability and material fineness. Monitor process control panelboard and regulate inflow/outflow of materials, adding reagents to ensure attainment of specified production goals. Must comply with all company safety regulations, operation requirements, and efficiency levels while continuously aligning daily functions to reflect Kinross' values.
Operates, inspects, and monitors crushing, processing, and refining equipment to achieve the highest possible ore recovery.
Performs mechanical tasks when needed that are within the scope of training and skills.
Responsible for keeping a clean work area.
Responsible for pre-shift inspections, including of equipment.
Communicate effectively with other operators in order to maintain continuity of operating strategies.
Responsible for maintaining written logs in a precise and orderly manner.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following.
Read, interpret and understand blueprints and drawings including symbols, welding symbols, material type and material shape.
Plan machining operations by studying work orders, blueprints, drawings, specifications, materials, machining parameters, and interpreting geometric dimensions and tolerances.

Select appropriate speeds, feeds and tooling for operations.
Lift and position workpiece on machine table and secure it.
Verify alignment of workpiece.
Verify conformance of machined workpiece to specifications using measuring devices.
Maintain safe operations by adhering to company safety procedures and policies.
Maintain equipment by completing preventive maintenance as required following manufacturer's instructions.

This position is located at the Henderson Mill site off of CO-9 between Kremmling, CO and Silverthorne, CO. This is a rural, alpine area approximately 2 hours from the Denver metropolitan area. The mill is at an altitude of approximately 10,000 feet. In the winter the average high temperature is 28 degrees and the average low is 0 degrees. In the summer the average high temperature is 75 degrees and the average low is 40 degrees. The average snowfall in Summit/Grand counties is in excess of 250 inches per year.
Employee who, under supervision, safely performs duties related to the production of copper and/or molybdenum concentrates in the Mill at a skilled level.
Completes duties within the Mill process which could include tasks within the following areas: fine crushing plant, COB, ball Mill, roughers, cleaners, flotation cells, moly plant, copper moly thickeners, tailing thickeners, and mill control room
Takes process readings and makes necessary process changes or adjustments
Uses electronic process monitoring system to monitor conveyor, plant systems and equipment
Performs start-up and shut-down of plant or related systems
Operates processing equipment and makes adjustments as needed; performs basic maintenance on processing equipment and reports maintenance issues
May operate mobile equipment such as front-end loaders, forklifts, skid-steer loaders, and overhead cranes
Performs area housekeeping duties and may perform work area and safety audits
