The Kansas City plant is a union facility that employs approximately 145 people producing Gold Medal flour and Bisquick. The plant operates with three milling systems and nine packaging lines ranging from 2lb retail flour, 50lb Conviencen & Foodservice flour to Bisquick.
The Milling Supervisor will provide Milling leadership to deliver a world-class operation. The supervisor will lead, motivate, and develop employees to achieve outstanding manufacturing results, while leveraging Continuous Improvement tools, improving individual skills, and enhancing teamwork. This role is on first shift with backshift rotations approximately every 4-6 weeks.
Educate, develop and motivate the Milling team to achieve required production results, improving individual technical skills and enabling collaboration across boundaries
Ensure that we meet the company and government standards for quality, sanitation, and safety
Establish and sustain sound relationships with all employees in order to foster an environment where innovative methods are used to involve others in creative solutions to issues

We are looking for a highly motivated and team-oriented experienced CNC Milling Machinist. Selected applicant will be responsible for operating and setting up CNC vertical, horizontal and multi-axis machining centers. To perform various functions, such as cutting, drilling, milling, reaming, and boring, utilizing knowledge of machine tool capabilities, machine ability of materials, shop math, inspecting parts to drawing requirements and troubleshooting malfunctions when necessary and reporting needed repairs. Operator will review setup sheets and specifications to determine set up procedures; read and understand blueprints. They must also be capable of running multiple machines when called upon.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
Mounts, aligns, and secures tooling, attachments, and work piece on machine.
Selects and installs cutting tools in machine spindle.
Using the DNC, loads job programs into the machine control or enters commands to retrieve programmed instructions from the data base.
Calculates and sets machine controls to position the spindle in relation to the work piece and to regulate factors, such as cutting depth, speed, feed and coolant flow.
Operates machine and monitors displays and machine operation to detect malfunctions, change cutting tools and set up according to required machining sequence or to measure parts for conformance to blue print specifications, using precision measuring instruments.
Discusses control media errors with foreman or programmer to resolve problems as well as documents the in-process inspection procedures in accordance with Quality Assurance Procedure 4.10-2.
Performs routine daily machine maintenance; fluid levels and etc.

Must be customer focused and possess: (1) the ability to perform complex set-up and fabrication of machined parts with little or no direction; (2) in-depth knowledge of machining equipment including ability to use judgment and safe practices; (3) ability to read, interpret and explain engineering drawings, sketches and verbal and written instructions; (4) skills to maintain the flow of work within the unit using independent judgment in solving moderately complex problems and recommending solutions; (5) strong interpersonal skills and written communication skills to interface with employees and management; and (6) basic computer skills.
The ability to work both independently and lead in a team environment is essential as is the ability to work extended hours as required.
