Installs, maintains and repairs of a variety of piping and equipment according to layout plans, blueprints, and other drawings in industrial establishment, using hoists, lift trucks, hand-tools, and power tools: Reads blueprints and schematic drawings to determine work procedures.
Cut, thread, bend and assemble metal and non-metal pipe. Weld, solder, braze, fuse or cement as necessary.
Plan sequence of installation and establish/adjust as needed to meet the construction schedule using knowledge of equipment to avoid obstruction and activities of other construction workers.
Inspect work in progress and completed to determine that it conforms to specifications.
Maintains accurate time and material records and completes client paper work as required.
Follows company policy and procedure and enforces safety regulations.
Move and install a variety of heavy equipment and material into buildings and vaults using rigging and chainfalls.
Repair and maintain basic electric motor control centers and circuit controls.
Works harmoniously, cooperatively and courteously with others at all times.
Performs miscellaneous other duties and responsibilities as required.
High school diploma or equivalent and additional specialized training equal to a master craft designation.
Minimum 5 years' experience in mechanical construction trades.
Work within precise limits or standards of accuracy; follow instructions, read blueprints and make decisions based on measurable criteria.

Essential Job Duties:
Maintain protection of the environment and the health and safety of our employees, customers, and the communities in which we operate and/or transport our products, as our highest priority.
Monitor condition of rotating machinery utilizing parameters including vibration, temperature, pressures, flows and currents. Must be able to take field vibration readings, and understand basic data.
Understand and assess the daily operation of various types of equipment including centrifuges, reciprocating and centrifugal compressors, conveyors, screw feeders, blowers and pumps. Based on assessment, provide recommendations to improve reliability.
Maintain equipment to design specifications including, but not limited to, centrifugal pumps, reciprocating pumps & compressors, fans, gear reducers/increasers & other mechanical equipment (valves, operators, testing tools). Replace pump seals, mechanical seals, pump packing. Provide proper alignment for all rotating equipment.
Perform preventative/predictive maintenance and troubleshoot problems. Determine material needs, sequence of operations, and job methods including the use of a computer for storing and using information for preventive/predictive maintenance.
Be familiar with SAP, RMP, warehouse parts management, design specifications, and applicable MI procedures.
Performs work associated with fabrication, assembly, disassembly and repair of vessels, movement and set-up of equipment.
High School Diploma or GED
A minimum of 3 years mechanical experience in millwright activities in an industrial environment
Must be able to read process flow diagrams, P&IDs, mechanical drawings and follow mechanical specifications.
This position requires proof of the New York State Journeyman certification prior to employment.
Able to work overtime, weekends and holidays as needed to maintain a 24/7 operating plant.
Ability to read, speak, and write English.
Valid driver's license required.
High proficiency in Microsoft applications.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Excellent interpersonal skills including the ability to work as part of a team.
Must possess valid driver's license.
Physical requirements – Must be able to lift 40 lbs, climb ladders and stairs. Walking, bending, stooping is required. Must be able to wear personal protective equipment including the use of a respirator. Must be able to respond to visual and audible alarms.

Millwrights will install and/or maintain machinery and equipment according to layout plans, blueprints, drawings, and written instructions in industrial establishments. Millwright will also need to be able to:
Rebuild/install centrifugal, split case and gear pumps with mechanical seals
Install mechanical seals on agitators
Pump alignment, using Ludeca Rotalign Ultra
Understanding of seal flush plans
Installation of agitator/mixer assemblies
Complete general plant maintenance work such as: Flange bolt up, repair threaded piping, temporary leak repair, et.
Reads blueprints and schematic drawings to determine work procedures; dismantles machines; moves machinery and equipment; assembles and installs equipment, such as shafting, conveyors, pumps, compressors, extruders, turbines and blowers; aligns machines and equipment using reverse alignment method; assembles machines and bolts, welds, rivets or otherwise fastens them to foundation or other structures; may operate engine lathe to grind, file and turn machine parts to dimensional specifications; may repair and lubricate machines and equipment; may be involved in the grouting activity for equipment base plates.

Crouching (bend at knees): Frequently, while performing normal maintenance on equipment and plant machinery.
Stooping: Frequently while performing normal maintenance of equipment and plant machinery. Works/stoops at all levels including waist height, to knees. May stoop to get on back or belly to access equipment for repair.
Reaching: Frequently reaches overhead, at shoulder or waist height or at floor level. Must get at all angles while performing normal maintenance of equipment and plant machinery. Reaches with tools or hoses of 3-5 feet length, in process of repairs.
Twisting/Turning: Frequently twists. May twist from neck, waist, hips while accessing equipment or machinery in process of repair. Some repairs allow option for moving feet instead of twisting, but often the angle of access is awkward and requires twisting.
Climbing: Frequently climbing to areas required. This is a "troubleshooting" position, so may work in all areas of plant. Climbs grated steel stairs up to 12 times per day. Also climbs on ladders or on crane or other equipment in process of inspection or repair.
Crawling: Rarely to Occasionally may need to crawl to access area. May be on cement, deck and near very hot machinery.
Kneeling: Occasionally to inspect/work in particular area. May kneel on concrete, roof, dirt, etc. While kneeling may be reaching to replace part, hose, etc.
Leg/Foot: Rarely. Only for walking and vehicle operation.
Handling: Continuously: Handles tool bag, all types of tools and equipment, various sized parts and hoses.
Fingering/Feeling/Grasping: Continually to use hand tools, air tools with vibration, and parts as small as a tiny screw and as large as 3-inch bolts. Must have sensation in fingers for fine motor activity and sensitivity to heat.
Balance: Frequently to climb ladders and to work above ground level on various equipment and machinery. May have to "perch" with a foot on two different areas/levels of equipment to be able to access area for repair.
Vehicle Use: Frequently operates vehicles of forklifts, cranes and trucks.
Pushing/Pulling: Frequently pushes and pulls for hoses, tools, pry bars, pipe wrench, etc. Rarely push/pull requires up to 80 pounds of weight.
Lifting/Carrying: Continually carries minimum of tool belt weighing up to 20 pounds. Other lift/carry includes parts, tools, hoses, etc. Common to lift weights of 20-50 pounds independently. Occasionally carries weights over 100 pounds with assistance. At times cranes are available for lifts. Other times access to equipment doesn't allow use of cranes.
USE OF SENSES
Talking: Frequently via radio, walkie-talkie and in person to communicate daily work instructions.
Hearing: Continually, to receive instructions of daily work and to be aware of sounds of radio, intercom, equipment and alarms.
Vision: Requires normal vision to see equipment and tools to complete regular maintenance. Good depth perception for fine-tuning equipment.
Smell: Continually. To detect fires and gases
Personal Dress / Hygiene Standards: Company policy requires clothes (cotton preferred) in decent shape with no rips or tears. Steel-toed safety boots with metatarsal guards and safety glasses are required along with other safety equipment as needed for specific jobs or area.
Interaction with others is continual to receive work instructions and to relay information about job to co-workers.
Flexibility requirement is continuous . Could be called to any location at any time to assist with equipment failure. Some overtime required. Must be available to work all shifts and holidays and overtime as required
Attention to Detail: Continually attentive to details of repair. Must work independently after receiving orders of the day.
Ability to understand and carry out simple oral or written instructions.
Recognize unacceptable variations from the standards and take appropriate action if needed.
Continually uses considerable judgment in adjusting, dismantling, assembling, and repairing mill equipment.
Works indoors and outdoors approximately 50% each. Exposed to furnace heat over 500°F for short periods as well as typical Oregon weather when working out of doors.
Safety Equipment Required: Must wear steel-toed safety boots with metatarsal guards, earplugs, safety glasses, hardhat, fall protection (harness), hot coat, and respirator when needed.
Exposures: Continually exposed to all noise, dirt, fumes, chemicals, grease, oil and extreme temperature from furnaces.
Operation of Equipment/Tools/Vehicles: Frequently uses manlifts, hysters, cranes, hoses, hand tools, electrical tools and pumps.
Continually: Dispose of waste products, clean up spills of oils, greases, floor dry, aerosol cans, and proper labeling of wastes.
Punctuality and consistent attendance is required. Some overtime is required.
Familiar with and practice general safety practices and procedures. (ie. Lockout/Tagout, Confined Space)
Knowledgeable in the use of hand tools, cutting torch, and power tools as well as welding for repair, both stick and wire.
Ability to interpret drawings and sketches and experience with blue print and drafting from either education or training.
Able to drive company truck (manual transmission). Driver's license not required.
Ability to operate forklift, aerial lift and cranes. Certification required. Must be fitted for fall protection and PPE and must pass eye exam.

The Millwright is responsible for installing, assembling, and, when necessary, dismantling machinery, conveyor systems, pulleys, mechanical clutches, gear boxes, hydraulic and pneumatic control systems. The Millwright will transport and locate machines and equipment to the desired location according to floor plans, or as directed using fork lifts, hoists, winches, cranes and other equipment. Assemble machines or equipment from their component parts. The Millwright must understand how a machine functions to assemble and disassemble it properly. This may involve knowledge of electronics, pneumatics, and computer systems. The Millwright will use complex instruction books that detail the assembly of the machinery and use tools such as levels, welding machines, and hydraulic torque wrenches. The Millwright will also use micrometers and other precision measuring devices to achieve the extreme tolerances required. On large projects, the use of cranes is common. Work requires practical skill and knowledge and journey-level skill as a Millwright. Candidate must be able to perform incidental tasks as required to complete the larger task.

This position consists of repairing and maintaining all production and facility equipment, installing new equipment, and performing preventive maintenance tasks.
