SUMMARY OF POSITION:
This position is responsible for the pre-batch of blends and the staging of blended orders. The incumbent supports the facility Blenders in spray-outs, draw-downs and filling customer orders.
Pre-batch blends and stage products for blended orders.
Blend custom orders within specified due date.
Match colors within facility color guidelines
Custom blend all orders within specific order guidelines (i.e. color, gloss, viscosity).
Manage batch size within /- 10% to order size.
Follow all safety practices as outlined.
Maintain clean work area as outlined.
Follow Waste Minimization Plan as outlined.
Follow PSR Standard Operating Procedures (SOP).
Follow Hazardous Material Handling Procedures
Make blends of paint as directed.
Prepare spray-outs and draw-down test panels.
Assist in preparation of customer orders, including filling and labeling batches as directed.
Make shade and gloss adjustments as directed.
Clean and repair store equipment.
Identify facility/equipment problems and make recommendations.
Operate all material handling, tinting, mixing and testing equipment in a safe manner.
Properly store all partial containers to correct inventory location.
Provide input regarding inventory levels in the warehouse/stockroom.
Identify potential obsolete/damaged material and handle per established policy/procedures.
Maintain facility to S-W standards through proper maintenance, repair and housekeeping.
Assist in the daily clean up of lab, product service room and equipment.
Follow designated loss prevention, security and safety practices according to policy and correct or report non-compliance of appropriate procedures/policies.
Take immediate action to contain spillage using hazardous material containment procedures as outlined in the Work Safe Manual, including proper and timely reporting.
Assist with general warehouse, delivery and customer service duties as needed, including loading and unloading of material, and waiting on customers.
Know stock limits and be familiar with stock order procedure.
Assist with physical inventory.
Help manage PSR expenses as required.
Other duties as assigned.
High school education or equivalent is required.
Ability to work all scheduled hours as needed.
Employee must have a valid driver's license.
Employee may be required to retrieve material from shelves and lift and carry up to 50lbs and up to 100 lbs. on occasion.
Must be able to tint paint, therefore, must be able to distinguish one or more chromatic colors.
Employee must be able to tolerate non-toxic paint odors and be able to wear a respirator as required.
Employee must be able to operate a hand truck and/or material handling equipment.
Employee must be able to operate a computer and communicate via the telephone.
Must be legally authorized to work in country of employment without sponsorship for employment visa status.

Mixing Operator II
- The Mixing operator is responsible for operation of the Mixing and Granulation equipment in accordance with Company Standard Operating Procedures and maintaining 100% cGMP & compliance to ensure the production of quality products.
Perform and verify Mixing & Granulation advance equipment like Operating "V" blenders and PIAB for loading, unloading and set spin time.
Perform and verify High Shear Granulator Mixer cleaning and Operation procedure as per SOP. Set up spin time and adding/spraying Granulation solution into mixed material through Peristaltic Pump, Calibration of Peristaltic Pump.
Perform and verify cleaning and operation of AMF Hobart Mixer for Mixing ingredient, Granulate material and final Mixing for preparing blends for Compression Department.
Record each entry of each step of manufacturing activities after completion of step as per PBR and maintain the Production batch record after each batch.
Perform and verify setting up of Drying Time in Chart Recorder of Forced air Drying Ovens after entering relevant detail of batch in Recording Chart.
Make sure all scales and Balances and other calibrated equipment are within calibration Date, Calibration stickers are attached to scales and Balances, and are clearly visible.
To perform & verify the room release status before starting the Mixing and Granulation operation. To verify the weighing scales and checks the calibration status before starting the ingredient verification operation.

JOB PURPOSE AND REPORTING STRUCTURE
Under the direction of the Value Stream Manager and/or Supervisor, the SP Operator I operates a variety of equipment that is used for preparing and processing raw material into a final form for delivery to customers. The final products being Zinc Arsenide, Thorium Fluoride and Magnesium Fluoride.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
...include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Follow Supervisor instructions, shop orders and Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) for the manufacturing of Zn3As2, ThF4 and MgF2, operate various departmental work centers involved with bulk material processing.
Measure and weigh raw materials, which are both solids and liquids.
Work will require the use of strong acids and bases.
Operate equipment such as crushers and blenders to prepare raw materials for processing.
Operate material transfer equipment (double diaphragm pumps, screw, vacuum and bucket conveyers) for both liquids and solids.
Operate tumble and paddle blenders and overhead stirrers for mixing.
Prepare reaction vessels for the next run by either rinsing, scraping, sanding, lining or sand blasting. Load reaction vessels with prepared chemicals by pouring, scooping or mechanically dispensing. Remove materials from the reaction vessels and clean reaction vessels.
Loading/unloading of resistant or induction heated vertical furnaces, vacuum induction kettles and resistant heated Gruenberg ovens, both tray and walk-in styles.
Monitor and set parameters such as temperature, gas/water flow, vacuum and time for any and all of this equipment: wet process reactors/ resistance furnace/ induction furnaces/ vacuum kettles/or drying ovens.
Filtering and washing of wet acidic process reactions by use of either vacuum or pressure pressing filter equipment.
Monitor and operate all equipment necessary to insure waste solutions are neutralized before dumping.
Monitor and operate air emission scrubber and dust collector systems.
Inspected materials for color and/or texture.
Bag, store and label material in process.
Move product along from one work center to another.
Use different sizing equipment, jaw and roll crushers and hammer mills size to product.
Use metal detecting equipment.
Use screening equipment either automated or hand to separate product into size requirements that fit the customer's specifications.
Collect required product samples. Submit samples to QATS system.
Ball milling samples. Perform screen analysis.
Blend separate reactions into final lots.
Perform product-packaging function as required.
Clean and maintain departmental equipment and instruments; perform preventive maintenance as scheduled.
Process all necessary documentation and paperwork to include lab records, production book, blend sheets, torit monitoring sheets, and mixer logs.
Use computerized reader to record labor time and quantities produced.
Notify Supervisor/Manager of anything unusual with equipment, raw material and final products.
Follow all clean-up and housekeeping procedures. Comply with all quality, safety, and work rules and regulations.
PROTECTIVE CLOTHING REQUIRED: Requires the use of safety glasses, safety shoes, safety boots, gloves, full tyvek jump suit, full chemical resistant suit, supplied air 3M hood, aluminized heat apron, aluminized heat sleeves, hot gloves, full and half face respirators, and protective clothing such as a uniform. Other, more specialized protective gear may be required occasionally.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
Requires one to three years industrial experience, preferably in a related field and prefer three to six months of work experience at MATERION to become familiar with the equipment and become proficient in the job.

REASONING ABILITY: Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems in standardized situations that involve several concrete variables.
OTHER SKILLS and ABILITIES: Requires the ability to operate various tools and equipment to include but not limited to resistance and induction furnaces, vacuum kettles, lump beaker, ball and hammer mills, roll and jaw crushers, gas cylinders, vacuum conveyers, blending equipment, vacuum filters, filter press, optical pyrometer, vacuum pumps, sand blaster, acid transfer pumps, double diaphragm pumps, pH meters, screening equipment, weighing scales, chain hoists, vortex coolers, packaging equipment, mop, and vacuum cleaner.

Note: Employees new to the department are brought in as a SP Opera rotor I (Trainee). The job grade for the Trainee position is 7NEP. An employee will become a SP Operator I when they have completed the checklist for two of the work centers.

Food Service Worker
Perform routine food service tasks and manual work under the immediate supervision in a food production and/or patient services area; operate dish machines meat slicer; deliver and retrieve patient meal trays from bedside and deliver supplies to patient units; wash clean and mop food service areas as assigned.
Assist in the preparation of foods such as meats vegetables baked goods and desserts; prepare foods to include beverages salads dressings sandwiches and cold plates. Operate food service equipment to include: slicers mixers vertical cutters choppers Robot Coupe blender dish machine and other vegetable bakery cleaning and meat processing equipment.
Transport food or supplies to areas transports carts/trucks to designated areas passes meals trays to patients following proper procedure assembles and replenishes food supplies and equipment as required ensure proper temperature of food in steam tables refrigerators and cold tables; reads orders and serves proper portions remove cover wrap label date store rotate and discard food and condiments per policy and as directed. Clean assigned areas following proper sanitary procedures; sweep and mop floors in assigned areas or as needed. Clean soiled dishes; sort refuse into garbage containers or compost totes; load soiled dishes on conveyor racks and carts.
Set up and operate dish machine to clean dishes trays silverware mugs bowls pots pans and utensils and equipment; remove all labels and stickers prior to washing; inspect cleaned items for quality of operations. Maintain sufficient stock and supplies for proper perfromanace of duties in assigned area; unload incoming supplies and equipment; stock supplies and equipment in accordance with prescribed procedure. Performs other duties as assigned.
Ability to read English and follow oral or written instructions.
At least one year previous food service or customer service experience is required. High school degree or equivalent preferred. Food Safety Manager or Serv-Safe certification highly desirable.
WORK ENVIRONMENT AND PHYSICAL:
Moderately heavy lifting (20-40 lbs) is involved in this position prolonged standing walking or constant physical movements on a routine basis. Speech sight and hearing to effectively communicate by varied means including but not limited to printed tickets phone in person and fax.
