ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBLITIES
Ensure quality production of rubber to be used in the manufacturing process.
Must follow rubber mixing process according to instructions
Set-up and adjust machines as required.
Operate rubber mixing equipment including touch screens, bar code scanners, etc.
Maintain and organize incoming materials to make sure material is properly labeled and identified.
Complete and maintain all necessary paperwork associated with the above mentioned tasks.
Assist production in other areas as needed. (Kaizen activities as well.)
Train new associates to proper procedures in the area.

Mixing Production Operator
The primary function is to properly weigh raw materials and add them to the mixer according to the specifications of the recipe which are preloaded into the computer. Oversee the operation of the mixer and to fix & report any complications. Unload raw materials when necessary
Mix compounds per work instructions
Batch compounds as required using FIFO of raw materials
Label all materials with: date, compound number, type and weight
Keep anti-adhesive (Barbe) system in proper working condition
Store compounds into their proper WIP locations
Keep mixer/raw material area organized and clean
Setup and shut down of computers
Use weigh scale to measure out ingredients for the recipe, which are posted on the computer screen
Empty dust collector when needed
Have a specific understanding of the raw materials that will be worked with and any hazards they may impose
Rotate all positions is cell
Test compounds as required

Operate lift truck in a safe and efficient manner to load and unload trucks and/or rail cars
Move pallets and materials within the warehouse (following FIFO rotation) to maintain proper storage to meet customer needs
Perform lift truck mounted computer operations for the warehousing system (currently WMS)
Hand pick and stack cases for customer orders on an as needed basis

Change propane on scrubber as needed
Check operations of the lift truck, using a checklist, and advise the supervisor of any malfunction immediately

Perform rail car ground work as necessary

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS (Minimum):
- High school diploma or GED equivalent
- Minimum of 2+ years of forklift operations experience within a high volume warehouse environment or have completed a certified program on forklift operations, material handling, RF Scanning and Slip Sheeting

2Nd Shift Chemical Mixing Operator
The operator is responsible for following operating procedures to safely produce quality material.
Read and follow operating procedures including sequencing of opening and closing valves and pumps.
Follow safety rules and procedures as well as MSDS guidelines including wearing required PPE
Load correct quantity of needed raw materials ; monitor processes utilizing instruments/gauges; adjust process both manually and with computerized controls ; assure finish product meets quality specifications.

Perform all technical as well as manual duties required for chemical and physical formulation of product. To include all steps of production from receiving raw materials to providing solutions for Filling lines. Perform preventive maintenance and general repair to the mixing equipment. Generate suggestions for and assist in development and implementation of process improvement on an ongoing basis.
Operate all types of mixing equipment such as slurry mixing systems, Millipore filter assemblies, cartridge filter units, dust collection units, tanks, valving and associated piping, heat exchangers, pumps, acids, alcohol and chemical weighing scales.
Maintain and repair all equipment in accordance with cGMP standards. Perform general maintenance within area such as replacing carbon seals, casters, wheels, broken sight glasses, etc. Maintain all equipment in accordance with cGMP, repair and/or replace leaking sample port valves, diaphragm, butterfly and ball valves, replace rusted nuts and bolts and repair plumbing clamps. Change gear oil in agitator gear boxes, lube, replace tank outlet seals and tank lid gaskets, replace rusted nuts and bolts and repair pumping clamps.
Coordinate with General Maintenance crew to schedule and assist with major repairs to mixing equipment.
Identify and communicate potential safety and maintenance problems to Supervisor.
Maintain the Mixing Complex, Weigh Room and bulk chemical storage areas in compliance with cGMPs.
Interface with Chemical Control, Receiving, Production Supervisors and Maintenance on a daily basis.
Maintain weighing records, raw material released lot numbers, and program's weigh scales computer system.
Tune and adjust equipment during process to maximize output for each production run.
Take leading role in identifying possible process improvement projects, assist in development, implementation and follow-up of ongoing improvement projects.
Investigate process nonconformance and identify manufacturing and quality deficiencies.
Coordinate mixing tanks with production schedules and establish mixing timetables based on water availability, solution complexity and length of release time on a daily, as well as hourly, basis.
Assist, as necessary, for safety purposes, the cleaning process of Mixing Technician I.
Assist with ongoing process improvements.
