General Duties include, but are not limited to:
Perform manufacturing tasks and activities, as trained, and in compliance with work instructions.
Complete production logistics by moving / transacting materials and information through the computer based production system.
Conventional polishing using pitch laps, working to tolerance 1/20 wave.
Knowledge of using test plates, interferometers and optical inspection
Monitor processes; includes recording and charting data.
Perform calculations, quality tests, measurements, and inspections.
Clean and prepare material and parts.
Interface with plant systems (e.g. document control system, manufacturing execution system, optical testing software, etc.).
Responsible for housekeeping and autonomous maintenance of work area and equipment.
Good written and oral communication skills

Polish and finish molds and tooling
Read blue prints, follow written and verbal instructions, and specifications sheets to polish and finish intricate Molds and Tooling
Train on and utilize all tools needed to perform essential polishing and finishing functions including di-profilers, ultrasonic polishers, air powered hand grinders, hand tools and grinders, chain falls, carts, electric lifts, and all polishing mediums (to include stone, compound, and diamond paste)
Utilize basic inspection tools and train to use all inspection equipment necessary to achieve intricate details of tooling
Promote good employee relations and high morale
Demonstrate teamwork and respect by working constructively with co-workers to achieve the best results possible
Follow all safety rules and procedures to ensure a safe working environment
All other duties assigned by the supervisor or department manager

Jewelry Polisher - Corporate Office
The Helzberg Diamonds is filling a Jewelry Polisher position. The Jewelry Polisher supports jewelry repair and refurbishing activities that take place at our corporate headquarter repair shop located in North Kansas City, MO. They perform the final steps of repair and refurbishment services on merchandise and do this at a level that is consistent with Helzberg's high standards for delivering quality customer care.
Jewelry Polishers perform finishing work on jewelry which includes polishing, rhodium plating and cleaning on customer, pre-owned, and vendor sourced merchandise. They also perform final visual inspection of jewelry that has been repaired and refurbished before the piece is shipped to customers or stores. Challenges associated with this position are time management and attention to detail. The Jewelry Polisher must keep to scheduled turnaround times for the jewelry they are working with in order for the corporate repair shop to meet our high customer care standards, maximize shop efficiencies, and maintain a safe and optimal work environment.
PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES ALSO INCLUDE:
Spend expense dollars properly so that adequate inventory levels are maintained.
Ensure that gold stock, finding, and loose stones are properly maintained and accounted for through the maintenance of proper paperwork and storage of materials.
Maximize asset recovery of precious metals by following proper recovery procedures.
Adhere to shop safety procedures.
Coordinate activities with Jewelers and answer Helzberg associate questions about shop policies and procedures.
High School diploma or equivalent and at least one year of jewelry polishing related experience or training.
Basic knowledge of jeweler's tools, machinery and equipment along with elementary knowledge of jewelry repair and basic knowledge of jewelry cleaning.
Previous metal working or finishing experience preferred.
Good decision making, problem solving skills.
Good attention to detail, ability to organize tasks, and strong interpersonal/communication skills.
Regular, predictable onsite attendance is required to perform essential functions involving interactive behaviors with co-workers and managers, operation or manipulation of equipment and/or materials located only on site, and direct interaction with internal and/or external customers.

Color sands, buffs, polishes, and glazes refinished body panels.
Examines finished surfaces of workpieces to verify conformance to specifications.
Retouches any defective areas.
Cleans surfaces of workpieces in preparation for coating, using cleaning fluids, solvents, brushes, scrapers, steam, sandpaper, or cloth.
Reviews refinished body panels with Refinish Technician, as needed.
Monitor painting operations in order to identify flaws such as blisters and streaks so that their causes can be corrected.
Achieves production objectives set by Management.
Maintains and wears all safety and health personal protective equipment, including respirator.
Complies with all laws and regulations pertaining to paint, thinners, and other hazrdous material.
Operates and uses all body shop equipment properly and safely.
Assists in all other areas of the CRC, as needed.

TE Connectivity's Mold Makers apply knowledge of mold design and construction to the construction, conditioning, modification, repair and maintenance of injection and transfer molds, gauges, cutting tools, jigs and fixtures. In some instances they may fabricate new molds by analyzing blueprints, sketches, models and engineering or shop specifications. Every team member is responsible for maintaining housekeeping and organization of the work area as well as following TE Connectivity's EH&S policies and procedures.
This is a Weekend Night Shift position that qualifies for a substantial shift differential. Employees work 12-hour shifts Friday, Saturday, and Sunday nights.
Responsibilities & Qualifications
Prepare molds for production
This consists at times of performing part number change-overs from assembly drawings, cleaning, assembly, repair, and trouble shooting and performing visual inspection on molded product to assure good mold maintenance was performed.
Inspect and prepare tooling to be installed into mold which means being proficient in all shop equipment (excluding wire EDM) and heat treating techniques.
Disassemble mold tooling for cleaning and repair. Cleaning includes disassembly of mold, cleaning each piece of tooling and inspecting for wear and damage. Details are reworked or replaced as needed
Change over molds which include changing out details to change product part configuration
Fits and assembles component parts into mold cavities and verifies dimensions, alignment and clearance
Analyzes and corrects complex mold malfunctions to assure mold will produce acceptable parts
May perform welding to make repairs to mold tooling, mold frames, and other mold parts requiring a fine blend of surface metal that would not distort the finished product
Hand fitting of mold tooling
Education / Experience:
Completion of Accredited Apprenticeship program is strongly preferred
Minimum of 4 years' experience in mold making or mold maintenance preferred
Demonstrated ability to accurately read and interpret blueprints
Ability to operate milling machines, surface grinders and related shop equipment
Ability to operate precision measurement devices
Knowledge of tool design and understanding of fit and function of mold components
Understanding of Plastics and mold tooling
Good communication and ability to multi task and prioritize work in order to successfully accomplish job duties is strongly needed
Must be able to work with minimal supervision.
Must be able to lift a minimum of 54 lbs
Must be able to push a minimum of 77 lbs
Must be able to pull a minimum of 66 lbs
Frequently extending hands and arms between knees and shoulder level; will handle and grasp frequently with hands
