Die And Mold Bench Polisher
Polisher for high precision steel and carbide tooling in a family-owned job shop. Successful candidates have attention to detail, patience and the ability to distinguish small imperfections in metal parts. 1 year polishing experience and a high school diploma or GED is required.
Expertly sand, polish, drill and deburr functions using hand and power equipment such as bench grinder, polishers, and belt sanders.
Demonstrate proper and safe operation of equipment.
Setup polishing lathe/wheel and check to see that wheel is on correct/safe and that the proper RPM has been applied.
Prepare polishing wheel by dress/cutting with scrap material for correct contour and grain direction of part to be polished, as required.
Plan sequence of operations and perform one or more setups to accomplish required machining operations.
Select, check, make or repair tools, fixtures, work holdings.
Set up and operate various machinery including grinders, drills, mills, lathes and various hand tools.
Experience with measuring equipment such as dial indicators, bore gages, micrometers preferred.
Blue print reading and interpretation experience.

As a member of a cross-functional team, responsible for polishing cast parts on a fixed jack stand belt/flap sander to produce a high-quality product in accordance with Pace Industries and customer requirements. The polisher must setup their own polish equipment, maintain housekeeping, and be able to start and shut down their machine correctly. Duties and Responsibilities:
Responsible for the quality of the parts produced. Inspect parts for any non-conforming or suspect conditions.
Polish parts to remove/blend casting features and/or defects per documented instructions.
Complete hourly quality checks and fill out hour by hour charts if required.
Initiate containment of any non-conforming and suspect parts.
Clean dust collector system and replace filters.
Polish and pack parts. Record parts produced; scrap generated, scrap percentages, reasons for scrap and down time hourly.
Follows prescribed safety standards and wears required personal protective equipment, which include respirators and foam lined glasses

Polisher 2Nd Shift
Location: Wixom, MI
The Metal Finsher, under direction of the Production Manager, will provide first class metal finishing die sections and die cast tools, prior to PVD treatment according to the Oerlikon Balzers standards. This position will have significant responsability for ensuring the overall quality finish of production services provided for Forming Tools through a rigorous surface pre and post treatment. The Metal Finisher will perform special projects as directed.
Responsible for metal finishing of stamping forming die steels and diecast tooling
Provide additional support to the Production Manager as required
High School diploma ( or equivalent) is required
3+ years experience in die making or metal finishing from a stamping, die cast or plastic injection mold shop is required.
Must have strong proficiency working with various polishing methods and tools to achieve a mirror surface prior to coating.
Previous quality control experience is desired as well as experience working with quality systems.
Previous experience working with precision coatings and / or plastic mold polishing is highly desired
Proficiency with MS Office including Excel, Powerpoint and Word are are required
Must have a strong work ethic and be a results-driven team player with a strong attention to detail.

Polisher - 3Rd Shift
Set up and operate department equipment, including CNC and/or manually operated polishing machines and hand tools. Operate polishers to perform a series of polishing operations on feed screws.
Work from complex blueprints, engineering drawings, and specifications, job orders, tooling instructions and standard charts to obtain such specifications as dimensions, tolerances, and tooling instructions. Make required adjustments to machinery to compensate for material tooling, machine or program conditions. Troubleshoot and resolve various types of operating difficulties, recommend corrective action on process failures within the department. Determine correct tools to use to achieve required dimensions and finish tolerances; be able to measure finish using micrometers and other associated tools; be able to hold tight tolerances within .001"; be able to maintain proper and accurate records, including inspection reports.

The following describes in general terms the purpose and scope of the position. Blend, grind, and polish surface of dies, and aid in hot form die change outs.
Acquire required tooling by using internal procedures.
Prepare and maintain surface finish of hot form dies.
Visually inspect dies for surface imperfections.
Weld dies when required to maintain surface finish.
Assist hot form operators in die change outs when needed.
Responsible for the proper handling and management of hazardous waste generated in their work area.
