Install and remove rubber injection molds into variety of presses, makes them ready for production. Assist mold cleaning, maintenance and engineering. Troubleshoot molding operation problems.
PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Remove and install rubber injection molds into a variety of presses using various tools and power mold trucks.
Remove and install rubber injection molds into preheat ovens and storage racks using power mold trucks.
Obtain production 1st Article Sample Approval (checking parts against acceptance criteria, completing paperwork, and submitting parts for approval).
Verify that proper materials and equipment are at the workstation prior to turning over to production personnel.
Troubleshooting production process problems as needed.
May assist with mold cleaning process.
May assist maintenance and process engineering teams.
Complete heavy mold setter daily time log.
Follows safety rules, participates in safety meetings and notifies supervisor of unsafe conditions or events hazardous to the environment. Suggests ways to improve the environment or health and safety.
Follows the Quality Management System requirements as outlined in the process notes on the press card, the applicable QMS procedures and work instructions; and suggests ways for continual improvement.
Promptly reports quality problems and shuts down the equipment if unable to resolve.
Maintains a clean and orderly work area.
Follows EHS rules and regulations, participates in safety meetings and CBT, and suggests ways for continual improvement.
Promptly reports personal injuries and unsafe conditions and helps to resolve them.
Ability to read and understand work instructions and traveler instructions.
Ability to read and write well enough to perform simple arithmetic calculations.
Must understand acceptance criteria, be able to understand a criteria sheet, and be able to use a size mylar to determine is parts are acceptable for first article.
Analytical abilities necessary to plan and prioritize own work, complete work on schedule and maintain required records and logs.
Able to operate and troubleshoot molding presses.
Operate mold cleaning equipment and effectively clean molds.
Interpersonal skills necessary to exchange information with variety of staff.
Ability to obtain a powered lift truck license for powered walker trucks.
Ability to work in a team environment
Ability to read and understand press cards, procedures, work instructions, safety rules and warning signs.
Ability to lift and carry objects weighing up to (50 pounds) on a daily basis.
Ability to walk and move about, stoop and bend, and climb (ascend and descend ladders).
Ability to stay focused for an eight-hour shift.
Ability to reach and grab with arms and hands, and manual dexterity to operate machines with precision.
Normal or corrected vision necessary to read directions and closely examine parts; and to distinguish colors.
Normal hearing in order to detect equipment and motor malfunctions.
Ability to push, pull, lift and transport molds to and from various locations within the building.
Works in areas that can be uncomfortable due to noise, odors, and temperature extremes.
Works regularly with machines where carelessness could result in cuts, bruises, burns or muscle pulls. Serious injuries can be avoided if established safety precautions are followed.

Injection Mold Setter & Process Technician

The Injection Mold Setter and Process Technician must be able to set up and operate plastic injection mold machines including tool changeovers for horizontal and vertical injection molding machines in a safe, effective, and compliant manner. Will be expected to maintain control of validated processes, identify issues, and communcate improvement opportunities. Position will have critical involvement in problem solving and continuous improvement activities including scheduling, scrap reduction efforts, and optimization of mold room management. Will be required to perform tool and machine maintenance, including cleaning and minor repairs.
Perform start-up, shut-down, process monitoring and troubleshooting per standard work on all plastic injection molded tools and related equipment; this includes cleaning and maintainence. Must verify correct set-up of molds, processes and auxiliary equipment before machine start up.
Verifies paperwork for jobs and completion of inspections at startup of job and in-process inspections;
Follows the company's medical manufacturing quality system per ISO 13485 and FDA guidelines to insure product quality meets or exceeds customer expectations.
Adheres to company safety policies as well as OSHA rules and regulations.
Must operate a forklift and an overhead crane on a regular basis.
Performs troubleshooting and basic mechanical repairs from process monitoring and part inspections to insure part conformity and quality.
Helps attain scheduling targets and communicates possible issues and deviations appropriately.
Monitors and focuses on scrap reduction.
Integrate mold room system with company's continuous improvement activities including ideas submissions, safety observations, 5S, adherence to standard work, and data tracking/charting.
Perform packing and inspection duties.
Performs other duties as assigned to meet the objectives of the facility.

Previous experience with strong mechanical aptitude, five years.

The Design Engineer will be responsible for creating 3D virtual CAD models for a wide variety of tread patterns used globally, including passenger, light truck, ultra-high performance, winter, motorcycle, and truck/bus designs. Job Specific Duties:
Utilizes 3D parametric solid modeling software to create CAD models, engineering drawings, and electronic vendor outputs of tread patterns for the manufacturing of cast or engraved tire molds.
Provides engineering support to vendors and quality department during the design and manufacture of tire mold related components and equipment.
Investigates innovative modeling techniques and software automation to improve design processes for speed and quality.
Attends key meetings internally within the facility and externally within the company and offers engineering input to drive decisions.
Organizes, leads, documents, and presents projects to cross-functional teams across the company.
Works within the guidelines of applicable policies and procedures, ISO standards, specifications, and compliance.

Bachelor of Science Degree in Mechanical Engineering (or related field).
