Main Duties & Responsibilities
- Our ideal candidate will have at least 3 years of processing experience in plastic injection molding. The mold setter is responsible for setting molds and starting presses within established process guidelines and will report to the Shift Supervisor.
Set mold into press and load process parameters as defined.
Produce first good product before operator hand off.
Proper removal, cleaning and storage of mold and all auxiliary equipment after the jobs are complete.
Ensure process characteristics of the work center are maintained throughout the job to
provide quality parts.
Resolve process characteristic if parts produced are not meeting standard.
Will be responsible for investigating root causes of repetitive problems and
implement permanent corrective actions.
Diagnose and correct issues relating to setup of production equipment.
Pre-stage the next scheduled production job order, which includes all aspects of the job
change. (ie, auxiliary equipment, watering requirements, etc.).
Follow all quality guidelines and ISO-9001 guidelines.
Follow all safety procedures when changing molds, setting up molds and making process
- Willingness to be flexible with work schedules and work overtime and weekends, with or
without advanced notice.
Minor equipment maintenance.
Assisting with relief breaks.
Communicates with previous and next shift teams.
Responsible for keeping work areas clean.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Install and remove rubber injection molds into a variety of presses, preparing them for production. Assist mold cleaning, maintenance and engineering. Troubleshoot molding operation problems.
PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
1.Remove and install rubber injection molds into a variety of presses and into preheat ovens and storage racks using various tools and power mold trucks.
2.Obtain production 1st Article Sample Approval (checking parts against acceptance criteria, completing paperwork, and submitting parts for approval.
3.Promptly report quality problems and shut down the equipment if unable to resolve.
4.Follow the Quality Management System requirements as outlined in the process notes on the press card, the applicable QMS procedures and work instructions; and suggest ways for continual improvement.
5.Move molds and mold components for viewing, cleaning, shipping/receiving, and repair, using lift trucks and hoists.
6.Maintain a clean and orderly work area.
7.Follow EHS rules and regulations, promptly report quality problems, participate in safety meetings and CBT, identify and report unsafe conditions/personal injuries, and practice and suggest ways for continual improvement.

You will serve as a TILE AND PLATE SETTER in the Production Division of NAVFAC ENGINEERING CMD MID-ATLANTIC.

The Mold Setter will be responsible for changing molds (both installation and removal), changing materials, and ensuring machines are clean.
Duties and Responsibilities:

Able to perform mold changes on machines, both installation and removal
Perform proper disassembly, cleaning, and reassembly of injection molds
Report any mold wear or damage to Supervisor and Head of tooling department

Safely operate overhead crane and gantry systems
Ensure that all work is completed without creating any damage to machines, molds, or auxiliary equipment
Responsible for material handling and accurately reading bills of material to ensure accuracy in all setups and material feeding system setups
Perform material changeovers, both plastic pellets and liquid silicone buckets/drums
Cleaning machine hoppers, lines and molds
Responsible for the proper teardown, cleaning and re-assembly of liquid silicone processing equipment
Complete all work and task related documentation
Maintain cleanliness of machines and working areas.
Assist with cleaning the molding room
Report and consult with Process Engineer and Supervisor/Lead on all technical issues or identified non-conformances.
Notify persons in charge of any non-standard or sub-optimal injection molding processes or mold issues as well as quality and safety issues.
Ensure safety adherence.
Ensure that established policies, procedures, rules and regulations are understood and followed.
Assist with preventive maintenance tasks and documentation

Physical: Must be able to hear and verbally communicate. Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs, sit stand, and walk for hours at a time. Moderate noise level and moderate exposure to physical risk. Exposure to high temperature tools and molds. Use of isopropyl alcohol, mineral spirits, acetone, pvc primer, hydraulic fluids, industrial cleaners and solvents.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Required: Ability to establish priorities, work independently with minimal supervision, and facilitate teamwork. Intermediate mechanical and tool knowledge.
Equipment Used: Pallet Jack, lift truck, hand tools, ladders, computer, basic office equipment, multi-meters, amp meters, calipers, air compressor, etc. Hand tools and equipment are supplied by AMT.
