Must have Oxy / Acetylene Spray Welding Experience.

Technician, Mold Shop

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
1.Prepare molds and tool repairs for new and existing molding equipment.
2.Operate lathes, milling machines and grinders to fabricate small parts.
3.Be involved and provide input for turnkey systems pertaining to molding.
4.Read blueprints, gauges and dials.
5.Analyze problems utilizing experience and troubleshooting techniques.
6.Troubleshoot and repair 3-plate, 2-plate, and unscrewing molds as well as hot runner systems and their controllers.
7.Interact with management, manufacturing, engineering and vendors to improve tooling.
8.Monitor and ensure the safe operation of equipment.
9.Control inventory of the necessary spare parts in order to reduce downtime and increase equipment efficiency.
10. Assume a leadership role in training and developing other personnel.
11. Refurbish and maintain equipment to Good Manufacturing Practices standards.
12. Perform all documentation as required.
13. Attend and complete all required training.
14. Work a flexible schedule in order to support operations.
15. Perform all other duties and responsibilities as determined by supervision/management.
Education and Experience
1.High School Diploma is required. Technical education/training a plus.
2.5-7 years of mold maintenance or tool and die experience required.
3.Practical processing knowledge of various plastic processes.
4.Work well independently as well as with teams.
5.General knowledge of quality and safety procedures and regulations.
7.Good interpersonal and communication skills.

Mold Compound Operator
SUMMARY OF POSITION:
Manufactures mold compounds for use in the production of wire wound resistors.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
Draws necessary raw material from stock for manufacturing a variety of molding compounds, as called out by drawing number or DPS.
Mixes raw materials into specific lots of molding compound using existing formulas determined by specification
Submits samples of each lot to line engineer for test and acceptance.
Assures all materials issued to production are labeled with lot number, RR number, batch number, date of manufacture, DPS number and any other information that may be required.
High School Diploma or equivalent.
Three months to one year experience required.
Skills / Certifications
Equipment Utilization: Operates horizontal blender, mixers, platform scale, extruder, cooling conveyor, and granulator.

Purpose of Job: What is to be accomplished? Repair and maintain horizontal and vertical molds, supporting PM intervals.
Desired Education, Experience, and
Disassemble complex mold tooling for cleaning and repair. Cleaning includes disassembly of mold, cleaning each peace of tooling and inspecting for wear and damage.
Details are reworked or replaced as needed. Changeover molds which include changing out details to change product part configuration. Fits and assembles component parts into mold cavities and verifies dimensions, alignment and clearance. Analyzes and corrects complex mold malfunctions to assure mold will produce acceptable parts.
Studies blueprints, determines machining operations necessary and determines proper sequence of operations considering such factors as type of metal, shape of metal, size of part, finish requirements and machining time. May perform TIG/Laser welding to make repairs to mold tooling, mold frames and other mold parts requiring a fine blend of surface metal that would not distort the finished product.
Fabrication and hand fitting of mold tooling. General housekeeping of work area. Follow company and department guidelines, procedures and policies.
Follow safety guidelines. Other duties as assigned.
EDUCATION, TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE
HS diploma or GED, Associate's Degree in Tool making or related field is preferred. Completion of Accredited Apprenticeship program is strongly preferred.
Minimum of 4 years experience in mold making or mold maintenance. Demonstrated ability to accurately read and interpret blueprints. Ability to operate milling machines, surface grinders and related shop equipment.
Ability to operate precision measurement devices. Knowledge of tool design and understanding of fit and function of mold components.
Understanding of Plastics. Understanding of Mold Tooling. Excellent math skills including a working knowledge of trigonometry which includes roll dimensions and compound angles.
Good communication skills. Ability to multitask and prioritize work in order to successfully accomplish job duties. Must be able to work with minimal supervision.

- Our ideal candidate will have at least 3 years of processing experience in plastic injection molding. The mold setter is responsible for setting molds and starting presses within established process guidelines and will report to the Shift Supervisor.
