TE Connectivity's Purchasing Teams are responsible for obtaining materials, components, equipment and services, gather quotations, examine bids, and award contracts. They perform cost analysis and volume planning for commodities, evaluate vendor reliability and develop new supply sources where required.
They coordinate purchasing activities with the manufacturing and engineering departments to maintain inventory at planned levels and monitor cost, schedule, and scope of assigned subcontracts to assure best quality at best value. They also look for and recommend cost saving proposals including make vs. buy analysis, alternative sourcing, and vendor evaluation criteria as well as develop specifications for new contract orders.
Buyer Molded Parts is a part of EMEA Procurement Molding Team. The Team can count on eleven people located in different countries who are responsible for the procurement of injection molded parts.
They look after suppliers nationally and internationally in full screen in different sizes. In particular, the strategy and integration of suppliers and the development and maintenance of existing vendor relationships are important tasks.
Responsibilities & Qualifications
Buyer Molded Parts manages the associated suppliers, roadmaps created for Strategy, Pricing and Performance and is both internally and externally a main point of contact for all matters relating to the supplier. The roadmaps will be tuned in close collaboration with the Manager Molded Parts to whom the Buyer reports in direct line.
He constantly retains the development in the market to keep an eye on price developments, new technologies and manufacturing facilities and to derive measures. Regular visits to suppliers, events and presentation on workshops (VA / VE, SMED, Kaizen ...) in and with suppliers are just a part, as well as the independent development of cost savings under the aid of other purchasing tools (e-Auctions, Game Theory Negotiations, RFQ / RFI ...). These tasks are independent from the preparation and negotiation of annual price agreement, standard contracts or negotiations within the framework of the project awards.
Business or Technical University degree
Minimum 3 years experienced buyer, knowledge of regional molded parts supplier base
Ideally, already experience on purchasing molded parts
Strong communication and intercultural skills, willingness to travel and ability to understand and work with other countries and cultures
Advanced knowledge of MS Office applications, i.e. Excel, Outlook, Word, PowerPoint

Job Location: Middletown, CT
Work under general direction of the Quality Supervisor with minimum supervision. Perform dimensional and visual inspection of complex in-process and completed machines, cast, molded and fabricated parts.
Frequently work to tolerances of .0001 or more, using complex inspection equipment and other such items as tool maker's microscope, coordinate measuring machine, rotary table, sine plate, micro-hardness tester and red liner gear checker, curve tracers, oscilloscopes, etc. Interpret and inspect to engineering drawings, specifications and other approved work documents for such characteristics as functional testing as dimensional configuration, hardness, surface roughness, visual appearance and completion of required operations; records inspection results and completes required paperwork.
Record inspection results and complete required documentation. May occasionally be required to inspect templates, jigs, fixtures and gauges. Report discrepancies or conditions that would result in defective products.
Coordinate with product and quality assurance engineers to communicate and explain non-conforming conditions and obtain necessary corrective action; may work with customer inspector during concurrent inspections. May be required to plot measurements on control charts and histograms.
Interpret and use company/customer specified sampling plans. Assist in formulating and reporting recommendations for correction of process to eliminate or reduce percentage of defects.
Instruct and guide lower level inspection personnel as required. Maintains certification documents control.
Provide input to improve the material/fabrication incoming-to-line process. May be required to participate in improvement activities.

Job Description: :
Inspect machined parts and assemblies for workmanship, dimensional accuracy, deviations, interchangeability, and compliance with blueprints and specifications.
Determine method of inspection, source and application of reference data, and type of precision instruments and surface plate set-ups necessary. Use coordinate measuring machines and rotary tables as required. Improvise or adapt inspection measuring instruments.
Inspect all types of machined Company and vendor produced parts and assemblies where standard checking fixtures are not available, and difficult precision instrument surface plate set-ups are required for the measurement of compound angles; or where precision instruments and surface plate set-ups are required for the checking of three dimensional projections or for the checking of numerous precision linear and angular coordinated dimensions and reference points on two or more planes. Inspect threads, gears, splined or serrated parts, where standard checking gauges and measuring devices are not available.
Accept or reject items and prepare appropriate documentation.
Complete knowledge of inspection practice and procedure including geometrical dimensioning and tolerancing and of the machinability of metals.
Ability to make any type of precision instrument surface plate set-up, use coordinate measuring machines, and rotary tables as required and to use shop mathematics, including trigonometry.
Perform all assigned tasks based on demonstrated, certified skills and abilities necessary to inspect and test ground and airborne sub-systems such as electrical/electronic, mechanical, electromechanical propulsion, or instrumentation top assemblies, sub-assemblies, details, cables, harnesses, printed circuit boards, etc. Duties include inspection of production, non-flight, and support hardware for specific programs and customers
Ensure that procurement, quality, and engineering requirements are met.

Tooling & Machine Parts Inspector B
Perform inspection and/or process monitoring of tool fabrication processes. Validate the assembly of tool components meet alignment, fit, hookup, adjustment, identification, and location of associated component parts, equipment and assemblies conform to tooling/engineering drawings, specifications, diagrams, documents and quality standards. Identify, investigate, and document nonconformance of materials, hardware, tools, tool assemblies or portions thereof, according to specification, processes and procedures utilizing appropriate computing applications.
Perform audit/surveillance of tool fabrication processes, according to documented specifications, process and procedures. Communicate with shop personnel and fellow tooling inspectors on assigned shift and at shift change.
Perform inspection to tool fabrication order, check on-line systems for status of the next job to be worked or in-process inspection. Obtain the applicable tool drawings, engineering drawing, Model Based Definition information and specifications to perform task. Perform various tests or measurements, and verify the shop has performed tests and built tool per the applicable drawing, specifications and procedures. Select and/or set up the appropriate measuring instruments.
Screen paperwork/on-line system fabrication order and review the completed job and inspect workmanship. Ensure all parts/assemblies have been assembled per the tool drawing, specification and fabrication order.
Indicate Tooling Quality Acceptance on the appropriate paperwork and/or on-line systems and process the paperwork/systems as required per appropriate procedures and policies. Investigate and clear nonconformance reports associated with tool manufacturing process as required per process. Verify record and re-inspect removals/reinstallations /rework of tooling components, as required.
Contact team leader/supervisor when assistance is needed. Verify tool number, serial number drawing revision information matches paperwork/online system.
Verify all paperwork/online instruction (e.g., manufacturing order, applicable drawings, specifications, nonconformance items and any other necessary documents) is complete and accurate. Ensure that appropriate revisions of drawings, Engineering Changes, specifications and other documents are being used by the shop and inspection.
Ensure that the tools used by the shop to fabricate parts have been approved by tooling inspection. Verify certifications of tools, equipment. Interface with other organizations to provide clarification and/or information. Handle, use and dispose of hazardous materials in approved manner.
This position requires use (8rs/day) of feet/eye/ear protection required. Occasional performance of tasks (1-3 hrs/day) related to flexion/extension, handling, lifting less than 25 lbs, and sitting, walking, and standing required.

Duties and Responsibilities
Provides company oversight and control of aircraft parts and components as received, ensuring their authenticity, serviceability, and airworthiness.
1.Inspects aircraft parts and materials to ensure compliance with 14 CFR Federal Aviation Regulations and Company policies.
2.Provides guidance and instruction to Material Services to ensure parts are handled, stored and protected in accordance with Company policies and procedures, bust industry practices and Federal Aviation Regulations.
3.Works with Material Service to ensure parts are handled and stored properly.
