Molder 1St Shift
Operate rubber injection molding machines to fabricate rubber components, responsible for the production of molded products.
Understands and follows plant safety and procedures
Avoids or prevents hazardous conditions from developing
Wears appropriate protective equipment as required, dresses and conducts self in a safe manner
Keeps work area clean and orderly and maintains Lean 5S
Participates in plant safety objectives
Responsible for all aspects of molding operations, i.e. work instructions, S.O.P's, and revision control
Ensures quality operation of the process, performs quality checks and controls, including adherence to cleaning and maintenance
Must maintain pre-determined efficiency, standards and productivity rates
Prepares and maintains accurate production records and follows SOP's
Communicates respectfully with all team members
Ensures shift change is completed and forms are filled out with accurate and appropriate information.

Education and Experience
High School Diploma or general education degree (GED)

Essential Responsibilities: Ability to work from layouts, prints, specifications, route sheets and general instructions
Review requirements and select appropriate molds and fixtures and obtain necessary materials
Prepare work area to ensure clean working surface
Vacuum cycle the parts as required to evacuate air and humidity
Install parts in fixtures, create reservoir and install spacers as required
Mix specified compound per formula and written specifications, blending prescribed materials, weighing and heating as prescribed
Prepare, fill, mold, and cure parts as specified in work instructions
Operate computerized ovens per specifications to ensure curing times and cycles are maintained as required
Clean components to remove excess compound and flash and ensure cosmetic appearance
Check work at prescribed intervals to ensure compliance with operating standards
Use of hand tools, weight scale, molds, fixtures, vibrator, vacuum chamber, ovens, air gun, solvents and arbor press
Calculate mixing ratios from work instructions

This role is responsible for making the different types of cores for various types of golf balls. They are also responsible for ensuring that the cores meet product specification through visual inspection. This includes operating a machine press while maintaining a clean and safe work environment.
ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Load slugs accurately into all three types of cavities and load trays (hot cure, BB and dual core outer)
Follow standard work, vacuum centers from press, pick up slugs and centers from floor throughout the shift
Remove flash from press
Source inspection of cores
Move baskets on drying and cooling conveyors and load Glebar hoppers as needed
Report mechanical/electrical/piping problems
Must also be able to maintain daily logs, product counts and scrap counts
Participate in continuous improvement to maximize productivity and obtain the best quality and rate of operation
Maintain equipment and room cleanliness
Work in a safe manner following all PPE and standardized processes
Perform all other duties as assigned by the Supervisor

Principal Duties and Responsibilities:
Essential Functions Molding:
Perform mold, material and auxiliary setups for production runs. Follow safety procedures and maintain high productivity by coordinating resources.
Troubleshoot problems to ensure minimum downtime.
Communicate/interact with appropriate personnel to ensure high-quality production parts, adequate crossover information, and production schedule attainment.
Responsible for following quality system procedures. Assist in procedure development when required. Ensure product quality and take appropriate action when non-conformities are identified. Maintain accurate records, as required.

Essential Functions Quality:
Perform basic courtesy First Part inspection, addendum inspections, and melt flow index inspections of plastic resins as required with limited supervision. Operate the Measuring Machine (CMM), Optical Comparator and various inspection equipment including calipers and micrometers, if applicable.
Advise appropriate personnel of required updates on part inspection procedures, blueprints, SPC records and inspection records.
Responsible for following quality system procedures. Assists in procedure development when required. Ensures product quality and takes appropriate action when non-conformances are identified. Maintain accurate records as required.
Essential Functions Material Handling:
Ensure that machine hoppers are filled with the proper raw materials. Ensure that drying of raw material and any other material preparation steps are followed correctly. Ability to operate the Motan© material transfer system.
Maintain accurate records of all material identification and update information in a timely manner.
Responsible for the timely input of accurate material identification, part count, scrap count, and job information for printing correct raw material certifications.
Responsible for emptying grinder drawers and checking the quality of regrind generated to minimize contamination.

What is the role of a CNC Punch Operator?
At Davis Tool, CNC Punch Operators safety set up and run our Amada Punches to punch/form a variety of ferrous and non-ferrous materials.
You download programs and set up tooling
You perform first article and in-process inspection
You ensure tooling is sharp and maintained
You will be responsible for the quality of your own work and will achieve time standards as well.
- You ensure equipment is clean, maintained and in good working order
