Job Description: Summary
Responsible for the technical aspects of the molding operation within their focus area
Works with Molding Cell Lead to achieve the goal of "No Stock Outs"
Supports molding engineering activities, including skills development, cavity recovery, and process monitoring

The Injection Molding Operator is responsible for setting up/running/monitoring molding machines as well as tearing down and cleaning all molding machines throughout the process. The operator will also be responsible for inspecting parts, performing testing, and determining final product disposition. The operator will also package and prepare material for shipment to customer site locations. Accountable for adhering to all quality and safety guidelines.
Set up equipment, change out molds, and operate all molding machines throughout process.
Capable of following directions to make process and equipment changes as per specification to machines with support and guidance from senior operators, Specialist, Engineering, or Facilitator.
Responsible for monitoring equipment through measured checks of pressures and temperatures.
Able to work with chemicals associated with the process, including Buffer Solution pH, 90% Alcohol, Hydrochloric Acid, Sodium Hydroxide, Sodium Phosphate, Tham, Sodium Chloride, Nitrogen, Antifreeze, and Saturated KCL Solution. Operate scour tank and change scour tank o-rings, filters and 90% Alcohol.
Ability to use basic hand tools such as wrenches, pliers, cutters.
Knowledge of GDP for Device History records for department in order to accurately complete verification reviews.
Knowledge of computer HMI (Human Machine Interface), MES system, and JDE to document process information.
Operate quality test equipment and correlate testing using test equipment including Instron, in-vitro bath, comparator, and distortion gauge.

Due to an increase in business in the Automotive Products Group at our Springfield, Tennessee facility, Johnson Electric will be hiring several injection molding manufacturing specialists.
This position will provide technical skills required to meet departmental and company goals for safety, production, quality and costs.
Essential Duties / Responsibilities
Perform daily duties with accuracy and in a timely manner. Start-up and shut-down of Injection Molding Machines and auxiliary equipment, complete mold changes, quality checks and material movement.
Inspection of product manufacturing according to control plan and work instructions.
Daily preventive maintenance on production equipment (mold, injection molding machine, chiller, plastic pallets dryer, temperature control unit, vacuum pump), etc.
Achieve departmental goals – scrap, PPH, QA, etc..
Provide daily communication with production staff regarding production/quality issues.
Ensure parts are produced to appropriate quality levels and ensure suspect product is contained and corrective actions are in place.
Verify production process against documented process per standard work. Work with engineering to ensure that processes are robust.
Perform root cause analysis of production and quality problems to implement permanent corrective actions.
Keep the assigned injection molding machine clean and organized under the 6S System.
Report scrap and rejects to Supervisor.
Adhere to cleanliness standards and product safety guidelines, including machine cleaningassignments. Maintain a safe work environment by assuring conformance to policies and good practices. Address safety issues immediately – people, equipment and work area.
Provide continuous improvements and cost savings ideas.

Senior Manager Molding - 3D Printing
The Manager for Molding and 3D Printing is a Leadership position to support the different implantable manufacturing sites by ensuring that all molded parts used in commercial environment are robust, harmonized and scalable utilizing best technologies, are capable and compliant with Regulatory requirements, and are validated per design control. A key element of this role will also include the development of a body of knowledge for Molding and 3D Printing, a network, and best practices for testing, deploying, and fine-tuning new applications. The Manager will formalize process improvements to help the end-to-end quality and performance engineering using LEAN/Six Sigma, Design for Manufacturing and Design for Cost methodologies.
The Manager will ensure cooperation with R&D and Operations, will also be responsible for keeping the Implantable Network informed and the manufacturing of plastic products aligned with business objectives to maintain a leading position in the structural heart market across surgical and trans-catheter valve business, including aortic and mitral. This position will report to the Senior Director of New Product Introduction. This position will direct and manage Engineers on the Irvine site.
Essential job functions:
Lead staff in using project management, design for manufacturability, process/design excellence, value engineering, ergonomics and knowledge transfer methodologies to ensure effective implementation and use of plastic components throughout the Implantable Network.
Manage staff of Engineers and experienced professionals in support of effectively achieving the required objectives of Global Technical Operations. Develop a robust talent development plan in alignment with functional growth strategies of the department.
Lead cross-functionally (Engineering, Quality, Regulatory Affairs, and Operations) and across all implantable manufacturing sites to formulate strategies including capacity, logistics, supplier sourcing and development, equipment and processes with a throughput to meet business goals.
Prepare analytics, executive summary, and update materials to facilitate strategic decision making and approval of molding manufacturing strategy with Upper Management.
Accountability (including hands on and resourceful) on troubleshooting, problem solving, and escalation of program risk to management when production transfer and scale-up to manufacturing do not work as expected.
Anticipate budget need, quantify budget to support budget planning, and manage budget.
Work with the engineers and the Global Technical Training team to develop and implement training plans and metrics.

- A Bachelor's degree in engineering is required, preferably Polymer or Mechanical Engineering; Master Degree in Polymer Engineering is desirable. 8 years of experience in engineering functions in the medical device industry and demonstrated track record in management of technical and/or engineering disciplines required.
