Plastic Machine Operator - Injection Molding
Set up, operate, or tend metal or plastic molding, casting, or coremaking machines to mold or cast metal or thermoplastic parts or products.
Observe continuous operation of automatic machines to ensure that products meet specifications and to detect jams or malfunctions, making adjustments as necessary.
Measure and visually inspect products for surface and dimension defects to ensure conformance to specifications, using precision measuring instruments.
Position and secure workpieces on machines, and start feeding mechanisms.
Turn valves and dials of machines to regulate pressure, temperature, and speed and feed rates, and to set cycle times.
Perform maintenance work such as cleaning and oiling machines.

Adjust equipment and workpiece holding fixtures, such as mold frames, tubs, and cutting tables, to ensure proper functioning.
Repair or replace damaged molds, pipes, belts, chains, or other equipment, using hand tools, hand-powered presses, or jib cranes.
Mix and measure compounds, or weigh premixed compounds, and dump them into machine tubs, cavities, or molds.
Obtain and move specified patterns to work stations, manually or using hoists, and secure patterns to machines, using wrenches.
Spray, smoke, or coat molds with compounds to lubricate or insulate molds, using acetylene torches or sprayers.
Connect water hoses to cooling systems of dies, using hand tools.
Maintain inventories of materials.
Operate hoists to position dies or patterns on foundry floors.
Preheat tools, dies, plastic materials, or patterns, using blowtorches or other equipment.
Smooth and clean inner surfaces of molds, using brushes, scrapers, air hoses, or grinding wheels, and fill imperfections with refractory material.
Select and install blades, tools, or other attachments for each operation.
Install dies onto machines or presses and coat dies with parting agents, according to work order specifications.
Pull level and toggle latches to fill molds, to regulate tension on sheeting, and to release mold covers.

Responsibilities may include:
Machine Setups that involve changing of molds, setting a variety of limit switches to achieve proper mold height, stroke, closing, etc.
Set injection pressures, adjust material feed and back pressure and ram speed.

Our Manhattan, Montana facility is seeking a Machine Set Up Tech 3 to add to our team. The Machine Set Up Tech 3 is responsible for but not limited to: Technician must possess excellent knowledge of injection molding process, materials, molds and machinery. Technician must maintain molding schedules; evaluate parts based on quality standards and specifications, and assist machine operators as needed. Technician will assist material handler with start and setup procedures. This position supports 32 IMM's with a drive for 90% uptime along with 2 other machine set up technicians of varying experience. This position is a direct supporter/contributor to the success of the Operations Manager and any/all delegated work is expected to positively promote the Blackhawk brand.
Including but not limited to the following
Verify correct set-up of molds, presses, and auxiliary equipment before machine start up.
Establish proper molding conditions.
Perform mold changes and sampling runs according to molding schedule.
Assist with the set-up and maintenance of auxiliary equipment, including granulators, conveyors, liquid temperature controls, and mold electrical controls.

Silgan is searching for an experienced energetic maintenance employee to join their team. Install new equipment and molds, perform preventative maintenance, and provide needed service to machines and molds so to remain operational and provide product that meets both customer and company standard.
Responsible for all machine preventative maintenance and repair to ensure operational efficiency. This includes the hydraulics systems, basic electric systems and PLC trouble shooting and programming.
Responsibility also includes recognizing, reacting and adjusting machinery independently when needed to maintain proper machine efficiencies Recognize and react to process problems in a timely matter so to minimize non-conformances. Monitor materials to insure correct amounts are available throughout the shift. Responsible for minimization of scrap produced and machine downtime in color changes.
Ensure maximum use of regrind. Perform preventative/routine maintenance on mechanical, hydraulic, and electric equipment and molds to ensure that products produced are of the highest quality. Disassemble, clean and reassemble equipment and molds according to instructions.
Monitor cleanliness of floor; inspect machinery and surrounding fixtures regularly for oil leaks, grease, or residue. Responsible for care and cleanliness of presses. Report any food safety and quality problems or concerns to the Plant Quality Manager.
Identify mixed materials, products, or colors and react quickly to correct the problem. Verify that bins, boxes, and skids have been correctly identified.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Provides technical instruction to customers.
Trains customers on technical information relating to ENGEL machinery, including plastics processing, hydraulics, pneumatics, electrical, electronics, safety, mechanical, machine controller, hardware, software, automation and quality.
Ensures customers are trained thoroughly on the operation and maintenance of the various types of ENGEL molding machines and automation products.
Uses a variety of mediums to train, including visual aids, computer presentations, projector, overheads, charts, manuals, presentations and demonstrations.
Identifies training needs and prepares agenda and coursework for customers.
Identifies machine/s and process types in order to deliver the most effective training.
Secures the necessary electrical, hydraulic prints to support training needs. Studies such in order to be prepared to deliver training.
Liaises with customer to discern specific training needs.
Travels to/from customer sites to deliver training.
- Though travel may be conducted at the ENGEL facility, traveling to customer facilities or to ENGEL training sites to provide training is required. Travel may be by air or by land.
Provides advanced customer support and technical assistance.
- Answers customer queries relating to machine systems and processing of materials, machine controls software and machine features.
Performs research and development.
Liaise with other ENGEL departments (e.g., engineering) to obtain specifics on customers machines and/or automation products.
Develop customized approaches to training based on customer needs. Develop new training materials and methods as needed.
Performs other duties or special projects as required or as assigned by a supervisor.
High school diploma or equivalent plus 3 years of trade school are required.
Any of the following are helpful/preferred:
Associates in Industrial Maintenance Technology - concentration in Injection Molding Machines
Degree in Mechatronics BS in Mechanical or Electrical or Polymer Science/Plastics Technology or Equivalent Experience
- Minimum 5 years related experience is required.
- Master Molder Degrees/Certifications preferred
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Proficient in presentation packages such as MS PowerPoint, Excel and Word as well as with ENGEL proprietary(?) software.
Experience with tools such as gauges, multimeters, micrometers, vernier scales and general machining tools is desired.
Experience with projectors, audio systems and computers is required.
Excellent communication skills needed to work with other ENGEL employees and departments on a weekly basis. External communications includes those with regulatory representatives and agency representatives (on a quarterly basis) as well as with customers and Board members on a weekly basis.
Awareness of professional and safety standards (e.g., OSHA, ISO, CSO and ANSI) is a plus.
Customer service focus is a must.
Ability to be resourceful and to seek out training improvements, for example, if training materials need to be translated.
This job requires extensive travel, approximately 90% of the time, both domestic and international. Of total travel, International travel is expected to be about 20% of the time.
Must be willing to travel as needed in assigned region.
Must possess a valid passport.

Machine Operator- Blow Molding
Warren Oil has an immediate need for Blow Mold Machine Operators at our Dunn, NC manufacturing facility!
Plastic Technician Duties:
Single source responsibility for blow molding process, efficient production, minor repairs, preventative maintenance and all required quality checks as specified in control plan.
Sufficient process knowledge to assure that all products produced will meet or exceed quality standards as specified in control plan
Make applicable process adjustments to insure line capability (timing adjustments, screen changes, etc.)
Demonstrate working knowledge of material handling system to insure accurate mixing of all additives, including, but not limited to the introduction of PCR, colorant etc.
Understand and meet all KPI's specified in control plan and interrelationship thereof
Train machine operators, wheel operators, and B plastic technicians
Audit quality records and processes involved in any aspect of blow molding
Perform tasks in a safe manner, observiing all plant and OSHA safety rules guidelines.
Other duties as assigned
Plastic Technician Qualifications:
High School diploma or GED
1-3 year of experience specifically blow molding or plastic manufacturing.
Basic electrical and mechanical skills anbd aptitude.
Must be able to select and properly use basic hand tools and meters for the task
Ability to operate manufacturing equipment.
Knowledge of industrial technology a plus.
Basic math skills and reading comprehension.
Certificate of completion or equivalent in basis Statistical Process Control (SPC)
