Monorail Crane Operator Job Description Sample
The Crane Operator is responsible for operating a mobile crane to lift, move, position, and reposition loads. These cranes will be from 90 to 260 ton capacity. The Operator will be required to unload coiled tubing injectors and risers from trailers or support vehicles. The Operator receives direction from riggers and/or site supervision via verbal or hand signals to determine required load movement. The Operator must also have a CDL license, and will be required to perform pre- and post-trip inspections along with daily and monthly equipment inspections.
Operates various types of cranes: 90 to 260 Ton
Drives crane to wellsite and properly sets up per the manufacturer’s operators manual and company rules.
Perform routine maintenance.

An understanding of basic maintenance concepts required to perform light to heavy repairs as necessary. The position requires the use of hand tools and other equipment associated with the vehicle.
Must have a background in crane and rigging. Operator must be able to show proof of past history of operating hydraulic cranes up to 160 tons.
Requires good hand-eye-foot coordination, an ability to judge distance carries equal importance. Most training programs require students to have a high-school diploma, earned with some coursework in science, mechanics and electronics.
We require professional certification through the National Commission for the Certification of Crane Operators (NCCCO), even if the state in which they operate does not. 18 states require crane operators to hold certification or licenses through NCCCO. NCCCO offers mobile crane operator certification with a specialty in lattice boom crawler cranes.

The Offshore Crane Operator is responsible for the safe and efficient operation of the Company's marine cranes including knuckle, lattice, boxed, and telescopic boom-type cranes for subsea, offshore, marine and port operations. The Offshore Crane Operator shall have experience operating cranes in an afloat environment lifting loads in dynamic wind, wave and water conditions.
RESPONSIBILITY AND AUTHORITY
Possess and demonstrate a strong technical knowledge of crane specifications and capabilities including load charts, crane ratings and operational performance characteristics and limitations in a marine offshore environment that should include crane operations in an active-heave compensation (AHC) mode.
Possess and demonstrate a strong technical and operational knowledge of lifting operations including experience and participation as a Lifting Team member in various roles and responsibilities; including lifting categories such as engineered lifts, routing and non-routine lifting plans; and including operational planning including risk assessments, hazard identification, job safety, equipment selection and personnel requirements.
Possess and demonstrate a strong technical and working knowledge of wire ropes including type, construction, grade and performance characteristics in addition to demonstrated knowledge of wire rope integrity management that includes wire rope maintenance, inspection, examination, testing and discard criteria.
Possess a strong technical and working knowledge of lifting equipment and gear used in marine offshore operations that includes rigging (wire rope and synthetic), slings, shackles, spreader bars, personnel baskets, padeyes, sockets, load cells, link plates, blocks, hooks and tackle.
Possess and demonstrate a strong technical and working knowledge of crane and wire rope maintenance and inspections including the direct participation in the Company's maintenance management system that consists of Pre-Use, Weekly, Monthly, Quarterly, Annual, Quinquennial and other inspection intervals, as required, and also includes the documentation of deficiencies and corrective actions related to cranes, lifting equipment and their components. We are looking for a highly driven individual that will operate mechanical boom and cable equipment to lift and move material, machines, or products through the fabrication process of Valmont products.

Boom Crane Operator / Material Handler

In this role, you will provide delivery support to the ABC Supply branch location. You will assist with the safe and accurate handling of material from the warehouse to the delivery location and you will operate a boom to unload building materials.
Specific duties may include:
Operating boom cranes
Manipulating crane controls to regulate speed and direction of crane and hoist movement according to written, verbal, or signal instructions
Following all applicable safety rules and procedures
Accurately distribute and place all specified building materials as indicated on the order ticket
Examining and recording all material transported to and/or from the delivery site
Verifying and recording the quantity and type of building materials being handled
Ensuring the delivered products are neatly placed and presentable
Cleaning up debris created by the delivery process and properly disposing of it before leaving the delivery site
Operating a forklift safely and efficiently and being able to handle heavy and awkward loads
Specific qualifications include:
Previous boom crane operating experience
Ability to unload, transport and position all building materials as required
Ability to follow all safe and applicable methods of transporting material from the delivery vehicle, by way of stairways, elevators and boom operations
Ability to be trained and licensed/certified to operate equipment
Ability to stand, climb, reach, bend, and twist throughout complete shift
Ability to consistently lift and carry 115 lbs with assistance

We are currently seeking a Crane Operator to join our CMC Houston Recycling Operations in Houston, Texas. As part of the CMC team, the Crane Operator will operate the assigned crane in a safe and efficient manner. This position's working conditions include working in an uncontrolled climate with exposure to heat and cold. The Crane Operator will also provide dependable support to plant operations.
This position works an eight (8) hour shift Monday thru Friday; which may include some overtime to include at least four (4) hours on Saturday. If you are looking for an opportunity to grow your career, this is the job for you!
Essential Functions and Responsibilities
Transports / processes scrap material utilizing crane and or mobile shear.
Sorts material utilizing crane and or mobile shear by grade, size, and per customer specs.
Loads and unloads trucks with scrap material utilizing magnet and/or grapple attachment.
Inspects all mobile equipment such as cranes and forklifts daily before use.
Assists with minor repairs of equipment, and washes equipment.
Performs constant repetitive finger movement to include twisting and or pressure involving the wrists/hands.
Must be able to frequently lift, push, pull and carry up to 50 lbs.
Utilizes rails and steps to frequently climb in and out of the crane cab.
Submits requests to provide preventative maintenance of all mobile equipment such as cranes and forklifts as required.
Complies with safety procedures and regulations at all times.
Ensures all jobs are completed in a proficient and safe manner.
