Responsibilities
Perform maintenance and operation of the dam and appurtenant structures; water and wastewater treatment plants water and wastewater treatment plants; project office end maintenance complex; equipment; and facilities.
Plan, and actively participate in, a maintenance program involving test operation, preventive maintenance and minor repair of all equipment assigned to the project.
Observe gauges and other indicators to assure-proper temperature oil levels, water levels RPMs, oil pressures, voltages amperage, and frequency of the various items of equipment.
Test, clean and dry equipment; locating shorts and other trouble spots, and replacing a variety of electrical components using 110, 220, and 440 voltages AC
Locate leaks and breaks in liquid and air distribution systems requiring cutting, threading, and installing new pipe to contain pressures up to 1000 psi.

- Must have knowledge of electrical and mechanical features of sluice gates, sump pumps, water sampling devices, and related dam structures for flood control and allied purposes. Must be able to troubleshoot and diagnose problems, then repair or replace defective parts, components, or systems. Must have knowledge of and skill in using accepted trade methods and techniques related to journeyman level work in various trades and crafts such as carpentry, painting, masonry, welding, heating and air-conditioning systems, and plumbing. Must have the knowledge and skill necessary to operate equipment, machinery, and instrumentation essential to the proper functioning of Martins Fork Dam; and to check water flow weirs,
piezometers, and take inclinometer readings within the dam.
Physical Efforts: Frequently lifts and carries items weighing up to 50 pounds, works from ladders and scaffolding, and assumes awkward and tiring work positions regularly. Work involves much walking and climbing of steps.
Working Conditions: Work is performed inside and outside and is often dirty, dusty, and greasy. There is danger of injury to fingers and hands while operating power tools, of strains and sprains from heavy lifting, and of drowning when working in the proximity of water. Exposure to weather conditions and possible broken bones, lacerations, electrical shock, and burns is regular.

Since 1958, INTERCON has served hundreds of customers across three market segments with product sales, design engineering, prototype development and subcontract manufacturing services. INTERCON's corporate offices and production facilities are located on 65 acres in suburban Kansas City, Missouri.
Intercon’s mechanics are based out of our Harvey, LA office and are responsible for performing maintenance, diagnostics, disassembly, inspection, rebuild, and reassembly of all Intercon OEM equipment (i.e. mooring winches, anchor windlasses, towing winches, Articulated Tug Barge Coupler Systems, etc.). This activity typically takes place onboard vessels in shipyard, but may also occur in our shop facility or third party shops.
Responsibilities
- Perform preventative maintenance, break fix, and commissioning on various mechanical equipment on an as needed basis.
- Prepare service reports and travel expenses in a timely manner and with expected Intercon quality.
- Work with the office manager in regards to issues with spare parts, materials and tools, will also work with purchasing department to maintain the inventory of spares.
- Train junior mechanics on various equipment and systems.
- Participate in customer contact involving part orders, troubleshooting, and follow-ups.
- Maintain and update a status list of ongoing equipment repairs
- Perform other duties as assigned
Requirements
- A minimum of a High School Diploma or GED is required.
- A two-year Associates or Technical Degree is preferred.
- A minimum of 5 years of successful experience as a Mechanic is preferred.
- Ability to read/understand hydraulic and pneumatic schematics.
- Ability to read/understand mechanical/electrical drawings.
- Prefer a individual who has the ability to use digital multi-meter to troubleshoot electrical circuits.
- Possess a valid State Driver’s License, and a good driving record.
- Possess a valid Transportation Workers Identification Credential (T.W.I.C.) and Passport or the ability to gain one immediately.
- Effectively communicate, both verbally and in writing, with other individuals, employees, teams, customers at various levels of the organization, in a business like and professional manner.
- Assume responsibility, be flexible, perform duties under pressure and handle multiple tasks under potentially stressful and/or hazardous conditions.
- Have a record of positive work performance and safety record.
- Proven working knowledge of marine maintenance and repair, shipyard, and barge degassing facilities is preferred.

Position Summary:
Assist in performing work involved with the installation, rearrangement, maintenance, operation, removal, and inspection of electrical transmission and distribution facilities; drive and operate line trucks and associated auxiliary equipment. All job duties apply to overhead and underground equipment and facilities.
Principal Accountabilities:
1.Assist with the assembly, installation, maintenance, removal and competently inspect underground facilities, conductors, fixtures, structures and other associated equipment on de-energized and grounded overhead and underground facilities under direct or immediate supervision.
2.Climb poles, towers and ladders and demonstrate evidence of being at ease above ground level during the performance of work tasks.
3.Demonstrate the ability to competently perform Ground person duties under immediate or direct supervision.

Description of Job
The Temporary Heavy Equipment Mechanic III – Field Mechanic will work at the Colorado in Fairplay, Colorado.
Major Duties and Responsibilities:
Performs skilled work including overhauling, rebuilding, and/or performing major repairs of systems such as transmissions, drivelines, rear-ends, gasoline and diesel engines.
Overhauls and rebuilds components such as generators, carburetors, fuel injection systems, fuel and water pumps on, but not limited to, 3 ton trucks, 10 ton tandem axle snowplows, 5 to 4-wheel drives, tractor/trailers, bulldozers, motor graders, asphalt equipment, paving machines, 15' mower tractors and front end loaders.
Inspects and analyzes gas or diesel powered equipment using a wide range of testing equipment, accurately diagnosing defects, malfunctions, causes of failure and determining the method, time and parts needed to repair the equipment.
Performs preventive maintenance, annual safety inspections, general inspections, pre-trip and post trip inspections as required by DOT and CDOT. Inspections include safety components such as, but not limited to brakes, lights, tires wheels, suspensions, frames and emissions systems on all CDOT equipment,
Maintains up to date knowledge of the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations and out of service criteria.
Designs and fabricates parts and special tools needed for unique or emergency situations by machining, arc welding and cutting with oxygen-propylene or plasma cutter, applying knowledge of different metals and alloys as well as the different welding rods and their applications. Applies understanding of machining operations such as using a lathe and milling machine.
Sets up new equipment by means of fabricating or modifying to meet CDOT Specifications for special need needs and uses.
Enters work orders and working time into SAP; completes SAP transactions for credit card purchases.
Uses computer programs such as MSWord, Excel for record keeping.
Attends industry and CDOT training to remain current on equipment and repair techniques.
Provides training for maintenance and other field personnel in various aspects of equipment maintenance, inspections, diagnostics and repair.
Attends new equipment training provided by vendors.
Maintains accountability for, and proper care of assigned equipment, tools and other state-owned property.
Perform minor repairs, general housekeeping and cleaning to assigned work area.
Other duties as assigned.
Work Environment:
Expected work schedule is Monday through Friday, from 8 am to 4:30 pm
Approximately 50 % of the time is spent in the field and 50% spent in the equipment shop
Required to respond to emergencies outside regular work hours and work overtime including weekends and holidays
Must provide the supervisor with a telephone number where he/she can be reached for the purpose of responding to an emergency
Required to lift up to 70 lbs
Required to bend, kneel, climb in/out of trucks when maintaining and repairing equipment
Required to operate CDOT vehicles

Minimum Qualifications, Substitutions, Conditions of Employment & Appeal Rights

- Four years of progressively responsible experience in automotive AND heavy equipment repair, that includes at least ONE year of experience with diagnosis and repair of heavy diesel equipment such as 10-ton double axle snowplows, tractor-trailers, bulldozers, motor graders, paving machines and/or 15' mower tractors, with current proficiency at the journey level.
Licensing Requirements:
Must possess a Commercial Driver's License (CDL) B with no restrictions on air brakes at time of application. A legible copy of your current CDL Class B or higher must be submitted with your application. (See Supplemental Section for more information)
Substitution: Satisfactory completion of a formalized apprenticeship program, or higher level non-correspondence coursework from an accredited college or technical school, beyond high school, in automotive and diesel equipment mechanics or heavy equipment mechanics may be substituted for the required general experience. Unofficial transcripts or a copy of your certificate of completion are required if substituting this education for experience and may be uploaded within your online application.

Gardner Trucking, Inc. is seeking multiple Diesel Mechanics to be located at our shop in Chino, CA.
Summary:
The Diesel Mechanic is responsible for maintaining class 8 trucks and trailers to ensure efficient, reliable, and safe equipment.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Perform required maintenance services on fleet tractors and trailers.
Perform tractor PM services as required by DOT 49 CFR 396.
Perform trailer PM services as required by DOT 49 CFR 396.
Maintain written repair orders to include labor hours, parts used and general comments.
Complete written PM inspection forms.
Perform lot checks to verify equipment condition, identify potential OOS items and verify load status.
Operate class 8 vehicles in yard conditions, move fleet equipment safely around yard and into and out of service facility.
Maintain maintenance reference manual to include job codes, standard operating procedures and service bulletins issued by CRST
Operate basic shop tools to include; welders, torches, impact wrenches, band saw, scaffolding, ladders and other equipment as assigned.
Qualification Requirements
High school diploma or GED is preferred, general mechanical skills relating to class 8 vehicles and trailers.

Essential Responsibilities
The Diesel Mechanic, under the direction of a Supervisor, repairs and overhauls buses, coaches, trollies, trams, railway cars and other automotive vehicles by performing the following duties:
Specific Responsibilities
- Plans work procedure
- Raises vehicle, with hydraulic jack or hoist, to gain access to mechanical units bolted to underside of vehicle
- Removes unit such as engine, transmission, or differential, brakes valves and front and rear suspension
- Disassembles unit and inspects parts for wear
- Repairs or replaces parts such as pistons, rods, gears, valves, and bearings
- Overhauls or replaces, blowers, generators, starters, alternators and A/C components
- Rebuilds parts such as steering gearboxes, door motors, hydraulic pumps and differentials
- Troubleshooting and rewiring ignition system, lights, and instrument panel, trouble shooting
- Relines and adjusts brakes, aligns front end, repairs or replaces shock absorbers, and solders leaks in radiator
- Mends damaged body and fenders by hammering out or filling in dents and welding broken parts
- Replaces and adjusts headlights, and installs and repairs accessories such as radios, heaters, mirrors, windshield wipers and windshields
- Additional cross-functional duties as required
- 3 years minimum experience working on diesel engines: preferably Detroit or Cummins
- Knowledge of computer software associated with specific diesel engines
- Strong electrical knowledge a plus
- Must know hand powered and manual tools
- Ability to work under minimum supervision while working in a team-oriented environment
- Must be able to:
