The Opportunity: We have an opportunity for a Forming Machine Operator at our Hazleton,PA, folding carton plant. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: •Observe machine operation to ensure quality and conformity of package material. •Package product in proper containers. •Inspect and remove defective product from production line. •Stop machine when malfunction occur and report immediate to mechanics or supervisor. •Stamp finished good product with packer ID number. •The ability to pack sleeved product into corrugated case, seal (tape) and stack on a pallet. •Perform housekeeping duties to insure department and company standards are maintained. •Performs other related duties to contribute to the success of the operation as assigned by lead person and supervisor. Responsibilities As a
Metal Forming Machine Operator, you will:
Applies specialized skills, methods, procedures, and techniques to monitor and operate complex Grabener coin presses, sheet metal rolling mills to press scrap metal and defective coins into sheet metal, upsetting mills, and other production and support machinery associated with the coin manufacturing industry.
Monitor operations on presses, observe instrument panels, listen for deviations in normal rhythm and sounds and take appropriate action to prevent mechanical failure and assure meeting high quality standards for completed coins.
Inspect blanks before insertion into collars; the finished product is visually inspected for common flaws (e.g., cracks, piece out, dirt, lint, press shifts, etc.) and overall appearance.
Identify defective tooling and causes of various defects in quality of coins and potential causes for jamming, overheating, cracked dies collars, improper strikes, loose grippers inserts, broken or bent pins, springs, etc.
Perform routine troubleshooting for readily apparent minor defects to internal mechanisms and feeder flow obstructions and disassemble assembly of feeder mechanisms and other external press components.

Incumbents of this position frequently handle objects weighing up to 9 kilograms (20 pounds) and occasionally objects weighing up to 23 kilograms (50 pounds); however, hoists, lifts, and workers are available to assist in moving heavier items. They are required to lift, reach, push, pull, bend, walk, and stand for prolonged periods of time.
Employees sometimes work in cramped positions over and under machinery when troubleshooting machine issues.. Welds Cantilever, triple lot Helical and Slantcoil to obtain a proper spot weld with a direct current welder.
Loads Cantilever, Helical and Slantcoil spring into seal jackets using various tools ensuring there are secured according to illustrated work instructions as needed.
Follows procedures for pulling rosettes from sheet and forming with rosette punch.
Follows procedures for second operations; includes using appropriate chemicals to complete etching and notching on seals.
Follows procedures for “-000” spring assembly.
Advanced Cutter Welders will weld 32 cross section spring per illustrated work instructions.
Duties includes labeling, packing, and following customer packaging procedures.
Cross-trains in other areas including but not limited to Assembly and CNC.
Other duties as assigned.
Education and Experience
This position requires a High School Diploma or GED equivalent. This is an entry-level position that should have 0-1 year previous experience in a manufacturing environment.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Ability to use various hand tools such as cutters, direct current (spot) welders and loading equipment.
Must have good dexterity and vision to handle small spring.
Ability to work with welding/soldering machines and small device assembly.
Must have basic knowledge of blueprints and work instructions.

Machine Operator II
MACHINE OPERATOR II
- Ability to fulfill all the requirements of the Machine Operator 1 job description.
- Perform complete machine set-up without assistance.
- Ability to bore jaws to proper size and radius.
- Diagnose process problems and make adjustments as required.
- Read and interpret precision measuring instruments for all threading, boring, and O.D. cutting operations.
- Down load program from computer to machine, and be able to understand and make edits to geometry of program.
- Ability to make edits and offsets to machine program as required without assistance.
- Basic understanding of tooling geometry and use of correct inserts for the material they are running.
- Have basic knowledge to identify various materials and their machining properties.
- To furnish their own hand tools and basic precision measuring tools.
- Maintain a communication log at the machine to record all alarms and issues encountered during the shift, and provide clear communications between shifts, both written and verbal.
- Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence.
- Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to other employees of the organization.

Position Description: Primary Purpose of the Job
Operation and understanding of a cold header. Major activities / Key challenges
Must have a basic understanding of cold heading and a minimum amount of knowledge about operating a cold header.Responsible for checking parts to print and the quality of the parts produced. Will train with a senior operator until a good understanding of the products produced has been obtained.
Must have good math skills
Must be able to read blue prints.
Must adhere to Arconic's EHS and ABS standards and work well within a team environment.
Will need to work to overtime hours needed to meet the demands of the department goals. Essential Knowledge & Skills / Education
Must be able to work 5:00am to 4:00pm Monday through Thursday
Basic PC skills
Experience in the Aerospace field

Must have five (5) of manufacturing experience.
