TAPPING OPERATOR- Perform duties to operate mandatory bank of five tapping Machines, or ten spindles to cut internal threads in nut blanks, per directions from Tapping Leader and/or Production Manager of Tapping. This position affects quality by producing parts with clean, full threads that conform to customer specifications. DUTIES, TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Work from verbal and written instructions of production order schedules.
Start machines and fill machine hoppers, order nut blanks as needed. Un-jam machines using basic hand tools as required.
Check oil levels; maintain oil levels as prescribed.
Write production tickets, tapping in-process inspection sheets, up-time and down-time reports.
Dump shavings/chips and product pans into appropriate containers as directed.
Change taps as needed during production process.
Notify set-up person when machine runs improperly or runs out of stock which is not replaced in a reasonable amount of time.
Follow appropriate MacLean Fasteners Operating System (MFOS) procedures and instructions.
Follow safety rules and keep work area in clean and orderly condition.
Perform other related duties as assigned.
Adhere to Company Quality Policy and follow appropriate procedures as documented in training agreement. SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE AND ABILITIES:

Make $50K plus annually to start
Earn .40-.48 cpm starting rate with .05 cpm when hauling hazmat
Extra pay for going into NY ($100), Chicago ($40), & Canada ($100)
.005 CPM raise every 6 months
Additional pay for detention, lay over and stops
Company reimburses driver for obtaining Hazmat & Tanker Endorsements
Bonuses for 1st Hazmat and Tanker Loads
Average 2700-3100 miles/week
