Description and Responsibilities
The reactor operator is responsible for performing all assigned reaction operations, to ensure continuous operation.
Helps ensure production needs are met with regard to quality, GMP's and safety. This includes HAACP.Responsible for making sure ingredients are added into the reactor correctly, utilizing process control sheets.
This includes weighing up of any minor ingredients, double checking item numbers, batch quantities, and lot numbers.Make any necessary changes to make sure batches meet quality specifications. Provide the quality department with a sample of every batch run.Operate the vacuum tray ovens as needed.Comprehend all aspects of the blending controls.Comprehend all aspects of the sanitation process.Comprehend the purpose of USDA and procedures to follow for USDA products. Complete the proper USDA documentation and contact quality for documented oversight.Maintain sanitation level in the reactor room area at all times.Points out equipment problems to maintenance for repairs and follows up on progress.Works with the other reactor operators and Supervisors to ensure a smooth transition from shift to shift.Demonstrates a positive attitude and relates in a positive manner when interacting with all personnel.Understand and comply with all HACCP, Allergen, Environmental, regulatory and customer demands and requirements.Report food safety and quality problems to personnel with authority to initiate action.Have a good understanding of the general purpose, philosophy and direction of The Kerry Group as a whole and specifically the Clark, NJ plant as it relates to employee policies and expectations, quality, customer satisfaction, GMP, sanitation, and production requirements.Performs other duties as assigned. Previous experience in process operation in which has been demonstrated a high degree of competence and understanding of process equipment.

Must be able to lift up to 80 pounds and move up to 400 pounds. Must be able to operate forklifts and other equipment integral to the job functions.
Must be able to see and distinguish between labels. Must be able to stand for extended periods and walk through the warehouse. Must be certified to wear a respirator and follow all rules regarding respirator wear.
Working Environment: Factory environment with exposure to flavor, and basic product chemicals and raw materials.
Reactor Operator I
Convert raw materials into finished products using established procedures and batch formulations. Maintain the highest quality standards while operating the equipment and producing batches. Properly prepare, document and carryout activities associated with receiving raw materials; shipping finished goods and material movement throughout the warehouse and manufacturing areas. Operate, monitor and maintain Plant Equipment and Utilities.
Accurately measure and process chemical ingredients using specific tools and equipment per instructions to produce finished products.
Follow SOP and formulations exactly and record correctly all required information legibly and accurately. Note any comments which may indicate quality concerns.
Submit Pink Sheets for process improvement as appropriate.
Actively participates in Lean initiatives
Assure that all work is performed safely in accordance with established safety practices. Ensure the work area is maintained in a clean and orderly manner.
Understand and follow safe handling procedures for all chemicals.
Working "off shift" hours will be necessary on an as needed basis.
Shipping & Receiving - transfer raw materials and finished goods to and from the warehouse storage areas to/from delivery vehicles.
Collect, review and/or check the accuracy and completeness of all necessary paperwork.
Ensure that all goods are properly labeled and packaged.
Carry out operational maintenance on equipment as necessary.
Maintain a clean and orderly facility.
Ensure that hazardous materials are stored in designated areas.
Conduct periodic cycle counts to ensure the accuracy of the inventory.

The analyst will resolve accounts as quickly and accurately as possible, obtaining maximum reimbursement, and perform investigative and follow up activities in a fast-paced environment by conducting research, contacting patients, insurance companies and attorneys, handling incoming and outgoing mail, scanning and indexing documents and handling any other tasks that are assigned. The core responsibilities of an insurance representative include research, insurance billing adjustment identification to ensure proper account resolution. This position requires the ability to stay well-organized and pay close attention to detail. The analyst should be able to correspond with hospital contacts professionally using appropriate language, while following the specific facility and department protocol, and be able to interact with staff at all levels, sometimes under pressure; remain flexible, proactive, resourceful and efficient, with a high level of professionalism and confidentiality.
- Knowledge of EOBs, CPT & ICD-10 codes, HCFAs, UB04s, HCPCS, DRGs and authorizations/referrals, preferred.
- Experience as an insurance follow-up representative HIGHLY preferred.
- Highly recommended to have full understanding of insurance follow-up processes (i.e. Billing, Collections, managed Care, Medicare, Medicaid and Commercial Practices), and well-developed interpersonal skills.
- Equivalent work-related experience and/or Bachelor’s degree preferred.
- Strong oral, written and interactive communication skills required.
- Ability to multitask and accomplish projects in a fast-paced environment required.

This position is for a Reactor Operator license candidate who will perform the duties of a Licensed Nuclear Operator (LNO) at the Fermi 2 Power Plant located in Newport, Mi. Those duties include: manipulation of reactor and other controls to effect the safe, reliable and efficient operation of the nuclear station; directing the activities of nuclear operators; and ensuring that periodic tests and inspections are performed in accordance with NRC regulations.
Monitors and interprets plant parameters and manipulates plant equipment by simultaneously regulating reactivity, steam, water, temperatures, flows, pressures, generator loads, voltages, etc.
Operates and provides protection on any plant equipment.
Directs the activities of Nuclear Operators including scheduling work, giving work direction and managing flow.
Initiates repair orders and/or arranges for necessary maintenance to instruments, gauges, and mechanical or electrical equipment. Inspects, tests, accepts or rejects maintenance work.
Responsible for checking all instruments, controls, mechanisms, and systems prior to startup. Personally tours plant to inspect equipment to assure safe, efficient operation. Takes appropriate action to correct unsatisfactory conditions by reporting, tagging, erecting barriers, applying emergency operating procedures, etc.
Exchange factual information with directors, managers and federal government regulatory agencies, other utilities and vendors/suppliers/contractors.
Responds to alarms and signals and takes corrective action deemed necessary by operating equipment or issues direct operating orders to other plant personnel. As necessary, follows up to ensure proper execution of orders.
Acts as Fire Brigade Leader in directing the fire brigade in firefighting activities.
The candidate's education and experience must be verified and in accordance with Regulatory Qualifications List and ACAD 10-001, Guidelines for Initial Training and Qualification of Licensed Operators as described below:
High School Diploma or GED
36 months Total Power Plant Experience - may include a combination of Nuclear, Fossil, Military Nuclear and Academic Equivalence Credit
o Academic Equivalence Credit 18 months maximum credit toward 36 month requirement may be given for candidates with Bachelor of Science degree or equivalent in engineering, engineering technology, or related sciences; or a professional engineer license
o 9 months maximum credit toward 36 month requirement may be given for candidates with associate of science degree or equivalent in engineering, engineering technology, or related sciences
o AND one of the following:
- 6 months performing plant operational duties as a non-licensed operator at Fermi 2 PP
- 12 months performing plant operational duties as a non-licensed operator at a BWR facility
- 6 months performing plan operational duties as an ACTIVE licensed reactor operator at a BWR facility
- 24 months in position equivalent to the reactor operator position at a military reactor such as:
o Reactor Operator
o Engineering Officer of the Watch / Propulsion Plant Watch Officer
o Engineering Watch Supervisor / Propulsion Plant Watch Supervisor
Must successfully pass POSS Exam and obtain recommended score on other pre-hire assessments
Knowledge of blueprint /drawings/schematics and general plant and power plant operations
Must obtain 6 months of Operations experience prior to the start of Licensing Class
Must successfully pass the Reactor Operator License Examination and maintain license
