As a feeder department, the Electronic Assembly Department is responsible for maintaining a constant supply of electronic components to the final assembly departments. Shift: Monday-Thursday 4:00pm to 2:30am
Accommodate all training necessary to become fully qualified.
Complete all required reading and successfully pass the written examination for machine certification.
Ensure that all duties are performed in a safe manner. Wear proper personal protective equipment to conform to the established safety standards of the tasks as prescribed or directed.
Communicate hazards associated with the equipment to those working near the machines that may be filling a support role, and ensure they too wear proper personal protective equipment.
Complete all documentation associated with equipment being operated.
Accept production plan passed from previous shift and strive to achieve established throughput quality and productivity goals.
Work with supervisors, engineers, and process engineers to improve procedures processes and training methods.
Assist with the development of training aids to improve processes quality and reduce cycle time.
Perform on a daily, weekly, or as needed basis any maintenance prescribed to be performed by the machine operator.
Be open and willing to train/operate on more than one machine.
Be flexible to work outside the department if necessary.
Train on assembly practices and tasks that pertain to all work cells in the plant.
Attend formal training session as necessary to elevate skill level and productivity.
Learn to read and comprehend blueprints, technical, and nontechnical documents to effectively perform work assigned.
Learn the skill set and be able to practice with reasonable efficiency the skill of hand soldering.
Once proficient as an operator it is expected that you will develop into a Training Partner on the value stream you work on.
Learn and follow company policies and procedures.
Complete other duties as assigned to meet customer needs.
High school diploma or GED required.
Past work experience will be evaluated for potential placement.
Demonstrated ability and desire to train and effectively apply training in a fast-paced production environment.
Ability to operate a computer required. Effective keyboard skills preferred.
Effectively exercise discretion and independent judgment.
Good communication skills.
Ability to learn quickly.
Ability to successfully participate as a member of a team.
Ability to work with minimum supervision.
Regularly and reliably work the scheduled hours. Ability to work overtime when workload requires.
Wear all proper protective equipment as required in work area in accordance with Daktronics Safety Policy and OSHA standards. Items may include safety glasses, safety shoes/boots, hearing protection, and electrostatic discharge wear.
Physical requirements include the ability to:
Distinguish and identify wire and paint colors
Read fine print with or without the use of corrective lenses
Work with odors (solder/paint/solvent/manufacturing odor)
Lift and carry heavy (up to 50 lbs) and/or awkward items
Stand or sit for the full shift and have full range of motion (including but not limited to bending and lifting) required to perform the job functions
Maintain steady hand/eye coordination

Duties and Responsibilities:
Operate assembly machine and auxiliary equipment.
Inspect and Assemble parts / assemblies as processed, per work instructions.
Trouble-shoot and repair minor machine problems.
Restart machine after repair or notify Automation Technician if repair is unsuccessful.
Package parts per work instructions.
Responsible for notifying, Manufacturing Team Leader, Quality Inspector, Automation Technician, and/or Manager of any and all defects detected.
Responsible for the quality of product processed.
To maintain assigned workstation in an organized and clean manner.
Must remain at workstation, unless on break/lunch or authorized by the correct chain of command.
Ability to complete necessary paperwork.
Removes any old labels from gaylords, boxes & totes.
Any and all tasks as assigned.
Tools Used: Normal hand tools found on the production floor (i.e.: trim knives or plastic cutters and steel wool).
Equipment Used: Assembly and accessory equipment attached to performance of a specific part (i.e.: a cooling fixture, grinders, or trim fixture).

Needle Assembly Set-up Operators will be responsible for production on their designated lines as well as maintaining machine runtime and performing some mechanical repairs. They may be trained on any of the processes or lines in the department to help fill production needs, but will have an assigned focus area to build expertise. They may perform visual inspections as well as assembly or packaging operations. Will be responsible for achieving production rate and quality goals on assigned equipment. May require the use of 10x microscopes, calipers, and/or other miscellaneous gauges. May be required to perform SAP data entries. Perform changeovers and line clearances. Help maintain inventory of spare parts and prepare for upcoming work on the lines. Must be willing to troubleshoot machines and help identify methods to increase efficiency of the lines.
