The Hand Surgery Fellow performs clinical, didactic, research, and other educational activities required to develop knowledge and skills required to practice hand surgery competently and independently and to qualify to sit for the certification of added qualifications in hand surgery examination. This position requires population specific competencies. Adheres to National Patient Safety Goals as appropriate based on the level of patient contact this position requires.

The Hand Surgery Fellow responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:
Performs history and physical examinations, ongoing patient evaluations, consultations with attending review.
Documents in the patient's medical record history and physical examinations, progress notes, consultations, discharge summaries, and procedures and operative reports as appropriate
Performs hand surgical procedures with attending physician supervision
Performs other clinical activities as directed by the attending physician and under the supervision of that physician
Performs other clinical, didactic, research and administrative activities as directed by the Program Director and as required to complete the education program
The Hand Surgery Fellow reports to the Program Director of the Hand Surgery Fellowship Program.

JOB DESCRIPTION- DRIVE HAND
- STATEMENT OF THE JOB
Every full- or part-time Drive Hand is responsible for full service to diesel customers including the proper, safe, and efficient refueling of diesel customers' vehicles. Additionally, Drive Hands are responsible for keeping the outside store area and parking lot clean and free of debris. Each shift will be assigned specific duties and individuals filling those shifts will be responsible for accurate completion of those duties.
THE DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES ARE:
Observes shift operating hours at all times, as assigned by the Store Manager.
Performs specific tasks as assigned by the Store Manager.
Assists the Store Manager in seeing that the store maintains a store-inspection grade of at least 90% on the store-inspection report.
Adheres to all city, county, state, and federal regulations.
Adheres to all Company policies.
Gives all customers prompt and courteous service.
Follows the work schedule as posted, unless a change in schedule is arranged with the Store Manager.
Stays familiar with the Company Policy Manual, and bulletins.
Ensures the Store Manager is made aware of all sales, cash, or operating discrepancies.
Operates shift within Company guidelines to achieve sales and profit.
Advises the Store Manager of any personnel situations or policy violations having an adverse effect on store operating performance.
Shares the responsibility for controlling the inventory on the shift.
Protects Company assets at all times.
Fill every diesel vehicle and call in to the fuel desk
Check oil when requested
Keep the front lot clean from trash
Make sure all pump islands (gas & diesel) trash cans and all other area trash cans are emptied
Fill windshield fluid and brown paper
Replace old squeegees
Clean up minor gas or diesel spills
Mop the front tile
Change outside signs when needed
Post signs on out-of-order equipment.
Post signs on hazardous conditions, such as wet floors.
Immediately advise the Store Manager of any maintenance problems.

THE REQUIREMENTS FOR THE JOB ARE:

As a Hand Therapist you will evaluate and treat patients with hand/wrist/elbow injuries using physical, chemical and mechanical means in accordance with written and signed prescription and/or referral of a state licensed physician or authorized practitioner and maintain complete medical records for each patient.
Administers direct patient care in accordance with the written and signed prescription of the referring physician or other State authorized practitioner.
Designs and implements a treatment plan that best meets the needs of the patient and works toward achieving established goals.
Develops and implements treatment plans to improve gross and fine motor coordination, movement and function of upper extremities.
Fabricates custom splint/orthosis, as required/prescribed.
Facilitates the use of Durable Medical Equipment (DME) and instructs patient in use and protocols for dealing with malfunction of same. Makes appropriate recommendations for follow-up care upon discharge
Instructs patient and caregivers in daily living skills including, but not limited to: dressing, feeding and household activities in order to promote a more independent and self-sufficient level of functioning.
Observes patient tolerance and/or status during treatment and modifies treatment program, as needed.
Responds to established department emergency procedures for patient safety and care, when necessary.
Follows all documentation guidelines and submits required documentation in accordance with the policies and procedures of the department.
Participates in quality improvement chart reviews and activities.
Attends family meetings/conferences and interacts with members of the inter-disciplinary team pertaining to the welfare and management of assigned patients.
Bachelor's Degree in Physical Therapy or Occupational Therapy, required. Master's Degree, preferred.
Current license as a Physical Therapist or Occupational Therapist in New York State
Certified Hand Therapist (CHT), strongly preferred.
