The Micro Need Utility Operator under general supervision and in accordance with applicable specifications, polishes, inspects, and heat¬ treats micro and channel needles in various alloys. Keeps equipment and work area clean and orderly. Does all other work, related in nature to assure efficient machine operation and maintenance of production schedule.
Be responsible for compliance to FDA/GMP/ISO/OSHA as it pertains to daily activities within Ethicon.
Follow all job specific safety procedures and utilize PPE when necessary.
Comply with quality system requirements as defined within procedures. and instructions and enter production information in quality records.
Use test equipment (Starrett Gauge, Mitutoyo Gauge, Microscope etc.) where applicable.
Utilize applicable software systems as needed for the job (e.g. JDE, ComplianceWire, ADAPTIV,etc.)
Be familiar with proper documentation practices and SOPs.
Consistently meet required work performance targets (RE's), if applicable.
Support LEAN and Six Sigma Initiatives.
This position pays $25.66/hour and is under a Collective Bargaining Agreement in a union environment.
A minimum of a High school diploma or G.E.D. is required.

This position requires a daily commute to Somerville, NJ, Monday - Friday for the 1st shift working hours of 6:00AM - 2:30PM with occasional overtime and off-shift hours, including weekends, is required.
Environmental Associate, Team Leader
The Team Leader supports the philosophy and management of the Environmental Services department; Will be responsible for the daily operation in the absence of the supervisor/weekends. Coordinates direct labor as assigned; helps direct work flow as needed, provides training assistance as needed, counsels direct labor when necessary, and maintains equipment and supplies. Routinely performs terminal cleaning functions, using the appropriate sterile or non-sterile techniques.

Expected to aseptic clean the patients' rooms and bathrooms using prescribed methods. Observe/report any deficiencies of equipment, furniture, or fixtures.
Perform the proper and efficient germicidal cleaning of assigned areas. Assure that all chemicals are properly labeled and are used for intended purposes.

Lead and facilitate Kaizen events and develop on-site associates in the area of CBS tools such as 5S, Process Improvement, Material Flow (kanban/pull systems), Lean Line Design, PFEP, Visual Management, Value Stream Mapping, Root Cause Counter Measure, and other CBS Lean Tools to drive organizational change.

The Project Leader is a key senior scientific and strategic member of the IMED with accountability for the strategy, design and execution of drug projects and leads cross-functional teams to deliver these objectives.
In this role you will lead the development and execution of the product strategy for one or more projects (which may be either clinical or pre-clinical), leading a cross-functional team of senior individuals. Project Leaders are required to develop a range of strategic and tactical options, secure governance approval and investment for the projects and then take accountability for execution and delivery of the approved development plan, with accountability to Oncology and IMED leadership. The individual will be able to articulate the project goals, strategy and the underlying science and clinical need to internal and external audiences with clarity and credibility.
You will be expected to work in a highly effective way with other project leaders, scientific and clinical leaders and external opinion leaders to develop integrated plans which can be delivered across cross-functional boundaries, and to demonstrate highly visible leadership within the Oncology community and to support the broader goals of the IMED Oncology. Development of clinical and non-clinical staff will be expected with the individual embodying the AstraZeneca values.
The ideal candidates is a strong leader who can demonstrate their strategic thinking, ability to work collaboratively and act decisively. They will need a blend of drug hunting experience coupled with a strong oncology background. This role will be based at our Boston research site.

As a Project Leader
Lead projects from Lead Optimisation Investment Decision to PoP/PoC:
Responsible for project strategy, TPP and delivery
Ensuring alignment with the project strategy to the disease area strategy
Interfacing and positioning of project within the broader business context
Pro-active in cross project and disease area learnings
Ensure appropriate resourcing of the team
Providing strategic and scientific leadership to cross-functional team
Working in a cross-Enterprise fashion to ensure effective and efficient transfer of positive Proofs-of-Concept to registration opportunities within the late-stage organization
Liaise and collaborate with internal and external scientific and clinical experts to ensure optimal conception and delivery of project plans and strategies
Support development of a winning disease area strategy, driving portfolio value.
Share responsibility for IMED Disease Area strategies, and the delivery of sufficient successful POP/POC, demonstrating therapeutic relevance, with high probability of successful market access and delivery of valuable new medicines
Create a vibrant, entrepreneurial and externally facing team focused on the delivery of successful PoCs that supports courageous leadership, innovation and collaboration, such that the Project team is open to challenge, new ideas, innovative ways of working, and where continuous learning and improvements are driven.
Collaborate strongly with other IMED Project Leaders to embed best practice.
Talent Management & Development
Provide high quality feedback and coaching to deployed reports and mentor key talent in the organization (development of talent)
Collaborate with VP Projects, Project Leader colleagues and deployed functions to build outstanding project leadership within the iMEDs.
Minimum Requirements – Education and Experience
- Advanced degree in life sciences, MD and/or PhD or equivalent
Extensive work experience in discovery or development settings·Experience of working with projects in discovery and development setting·Experience of decision making and leadership in a cross-disciplinary/functional, cross-cultural environment
Experience of the working with the disease area·Practical experience in working on teams in the discovery and development settings·Strong project management expertise·Proven leadership skills in managing projects
