Needle Board Repair Operator
Responsible for repairing needle boards, including removal, insertion, and cleaning of needle boards. Also responsible for filling out Needle Maintenance Record card for identification along with keeping an accurate log monitoring wear and replacement of needles.
Duties and Responsibilities:
The operator reports directly to the Carding Department Manager.
Responsible to repair needle boards, including the removal, insertion, and cleaning of needle boards. Upon completion of each repair, he or she fills out Needle Maintenance Record card for identification.
Maintains required / accurate log to monitor needle wear and replacement. Maintains needle inventory for the week/month.
Responsible for the safe disposable of damaged/worn needles.
Supports and implements SFC policies, procedures, work instructions, including the QMS Management System.
Train new employees.
Observe all Safety Rules and regulations and advise Supervision of any safety issues that need attention.
Informs production Supervisor when rotation of needle boards needs to be changed out.
Assists in the removal of needle boards from machines.
Perform all other duties, tasks or projects as directed by Carding Manager.
Must adhere to all company and location policies and safety rules
Must be able to work extended hours when required
All other duties as assigned

Constantly patrols all parts of all machinery and checks for quality defects on section and makes overhauls, repairs, or adjustments as needed.
Perform all “check lists” type duties on style changes, new warps and maintenance looms. Supervisor may assign assistance as deemed necessary.
Performs preventive maintenance procedures on looms. Records all action on the proper forms, takes corrective action or makes recommendations for repair.
Inspect machine malfunction and woven cloth to locate problems, determine work to be done, repair, clean, adjust, lubricate, etc. as required to correct malfunction.
Repairs or replaces defective parts, adjusts tension and timing of parts using hand tools.
Levels and aligns parts to prevent excessive wear.
Assists the warp changer personnel on cleaning and start-up of looms at warp out.
Will perform routine cleaning duties.
Blow off designated looms once per shift to keep them free of dust, scrap, etc.
May be required to run a set of looms at times when we are short a weaver due to vacations, sickness, etc.
Assist weaver as needed in repairing stops and creeling fill yarn.
Mandatory – Must be able to read and write in manner indicated on application.
Preferred – Weaving and good mechanical aptitude.

Place designated eggs in proper incubators at required times so as to ensure hatching of eggs for the determined processing days.
Push prepared egg set from the egg room to the correct setter position at designated times, push 500lbs at a distance of 200' a max of 45 times
To place a max of 720 trays weighing 20 - 25lbs each into proper staggered slots inside the incubator. This procedure requires bending and reaching from 5' - 6' from the floor level.
Using bending, reaching, twisting and pulling motion with both hands, remove eggs from farm racks and place in the incubator. Approx. 24 farm racks will have to be unloaded by each associate.
Must be able to clean up setter floors by using a scraper, bending, twisting, pulling motion along with the ability to work at floor level on knees performing clean up.
Notify maintenance person or foreman of any mechanical problems that may arise during this procedure.
Water hoses, detergents and disinfectants are required for clean up in hallways and setters.
Perform any other duties as required by management.
