We are currently working a 4 on 4 off rotating (day and night) 12 hour shift schedule. Two weekends off per month! Overtime will be minimal depending on the needs of the business.
The position also will require exposure to adverse weather conditions and hazardous environments, as well as the physical stamina to climb tanks and work long hours in the field. You'll also need to wear personal protective equipment, which we'll provide.
The RoleReporting to the Shift Supervisor, as a Pumper, you will oversee and execute all tank transfers of product throughout the refinery, while also monitoring and helping to troubleshoot all truck loading racks. We have approximately 60 tanks at this facility, and you'll join a team of four full-time Pumpers and four part-time relief Pumpers.
We operate a product pipeline and crude oil pipeline, and you'll help monitor the tanks coming down the pipeline. We also load military / government grade jet fuel. As you can tell, this job offers a lot of variety and the opportunity to expand your mechanical skills as well as your technical knowledge. We are transitioning all of our documentation and gauging to a computer system so eventually everything will be documented online and not via pen and paper.
To summarize this role, you will really serve as the eyes and ears of this facility. You'll report incidents, keep an eye out for any suspicious activities and ensure safety is always a top priority. You'll always need to be aware of your surroundings, including the weather and atmospheric conditions (it can get very windy, for example), so you can ensure successful and safe operations.
More specifically, you will:
Ensure refinery environmental and safety compliance by following applicable rules, procedures and policies
Perform routine maintenance on equipment
Monitor, clean and replace filters on product and equipment as necessary
Responsible for housekeeping of tank farm areas and loading docks
Monitor levels in all product and chemical tanks
Record operating data such as products and quantities pumped, storage tank used, gauge readings and time
Inspect valves, flanges, manifolds throughout the piping system and tightens connections using hand tools
Climb and sample tanks when needed for lab analysis
Open and close transfer valves for product transfer
Assist in the loading and unloading of trucks carrying product, materials or chemicals for the operation of the refinery
Weigh trucks in and out of the Refinery at our scale location.
Ensure cleanliness of the vehicles assigned to the Pumpers, these include a pickup and a UTV (Utility Task Vehicle or Side By Side)
Observe all Safety Rules associated with the hazards located in and around the process units
Wear all PPE (personal protective equipment) that is required by OSHA
Follow all plant Safety Rules and Regulations
Generate work orders for general maintenance requirements and prepare equipment as required for maintenance personnel
Perform other duties as assigned

The Assistant Pumper is responsible for assisting with duties related to the daily operations and maintenance of assigned wells and production facilities. Micro Bulk Liquid Transport Drivers may be required to ("Lay Over") in a Hotel upon approval while working in and or traveling outside the Domicile Terminal or Region to make deliveries and secure product.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Abides by all State and Federal Motor laws and Speed Limits.
Maintains Drivers Daily Log according to D.O.T's 70 hour 8 day drivers rule.
Performs and Completes Daily Drivers Vehicle Inspection Report.
Prepares and Completes Hazardous Material Shipping Paper Manifest.
Prepares and Completes Drivers Trip Report.
Loads Transport at Air Liquide and Competitors Air Separation Plants, abiding by each plants safety rules and guidelines.
Prepares and Completes a Driver Load and Delivery Report logging the customers, statistical information.
Maintains OBC, telephone and or radio contact with Micro Bulk Manager for the event of schedule adjustments and changes.
Makes multiple deliveries that require backing long distances and around obstacles using depth perception and hand eye coordination.
May be required to step up, walk over, walk around, stand, bend, crouch, reach, and turn.
Communicates all delays, missed deliveries, short-fills to Micro Bulk Manager.
Reports all Motor Vehicle Violations for annual review.
Reports and provides all Documentation regarding D.O.T Inspections/Violations.
Communicates equipment maintenance issues to Micro Bulk Manager in a timely persistent manner.
Relays customer requests and concerns to the Micro Bulk Manager.
Reports customer installation maintenance issues to Micro Bulk Manager.

The Pumper II, for Apache Corporation will be a member of Apache's East District team at the company's St. Lawrence office reporting to Barry Price.
This role will be primarily responsible for the following:
Provide lease surveillance of Apache-operated properties to assure that the wells are producing at maximum rates allowed and related equipment and facilities are operating safely and efficiently
Accurately measure and report daily production
Prepare daily and monthly production reports
Inspect facilities routinely for operational safety and environmental compliance
Take fluid levels and well tests at least twice monthly and calculate downhole pump efficiency
Accurately gauge production tanks on a daily basis
Report complete production data in TOW
Troubleshoot and repair day-to-day operational issues
Keep accurate seal records
Review amp readings to ensure pump units are in balance
Ensure that all contractors and Apache Corporation personnel follow safety requirements and procedures
Develop an awareness to look for ways to optimize production
Track goals and plans for properties using Scout on a monthly basis
Witness sales of oil and condensate (LACT meter provings, Crude Transfer tickets)
Correct any unsafe conditions or practices immediately upon recognition
Maintain and use safety equipment as required
Report any safety violations to immediate supervisor
Ensure all warning signs are in place and in good condition
Safeguard all company assets; be aware of any security violations and report immediately to supervisor
Report any environmental incidents or potential incidents immediately
