The Nurse Consultant works at the direction of the Manager of Family Engagement/Support Services and the Health Coordinator. The nurse consultant agrees to provide services to Illinois Action for Childrens Early Learning Programs on a timely basis in compliance with all federal, state and local requirements.
All work to be completed with minimum supervision and in accordance with organization standards.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include but are not limited to the following. The organization reserves the right to add to, delete, change or modify the essential duties and responsibilities at any time.
These services include, but are not limited to, the following activities:
Complete the Early Head Start postpartum home visit with parent(s) within two weeks of delivery.
Obtain the newborn babys height, weight, length, and head circumference during two week postpartum visit.
Provide health information to parent(s) during postpartum visits (i.e. postpartum care, parent mental health, sleep safety, nutrition, lead exposure, consequences of tobacco products, etc.).
Provide trainings to parents on prevalent health topics at monthly site Parent Meetings where required (i.e. medical and oral health care, emergency first aid, environmental hazards, and health and safety practices for the home, etc.).
Training and Technical Support: Provide staff trainings on prevalent health topics including infant care.
Conduct weekly site visits to Early Head Start classrooms to complete heights, weights, length, BMI for infants and toddlers.
Document visits at all EHS sites for data collection in accordance with EHS guidelines for health related child outcomes.
Support program family engagement staff in engaging parents in identifying and accessing health services and resources that are responsive to their interests and goals.
Consultations with parents in regards to health concerns (where required).
Participate in center health related events.
Observation of Early Head Start classroom practices carried out by personnel (example: diapering, feeding, sanitizing, and supervision).
Ensure program compliance with DCFS licensing health requirements for infants and toddlers.
Review and assessment of child immunization records and health forms.

The Division of Health Service Regulation (DHSR) provides for the health, safety and well-being of individuals through effective regulatory and remedial activities including appropriate consultation and training opportunities and by improving access to health care delivery systems through the rational allocation of needed facilities and services. The Nursing Home Licensure & Certification Section provides regulatory services to nursing home providers so that they can improve the quality of services they deliver through regulatory compliance; resulting ultimately in safe quality care, quality of life, and safety of residents and citizens who utilize nursing home services.
As a Nurse Consultant in the Nursing Home Licensure & Certification Section, your main responsibility is to conduct inspections of nursing homes to determine compliance by applying various laws, regulations, rules, and protocols that have been established by the state and federal government. These decisions may be made independently, or in conjunction with interdisciplinary team members.
You will spend an average of three days per week in nursing homes conducting inspections and the remainder of time is spent in your home-based office completing survey reports. Management will attempt to schedule inspections within your region, however if the nursing home is more than 60 miles from your home-base, you can expect overnight stays. On occasion, inspections are required on weekends and night shift.
You will need to pass the Federal Surveyor Minimum Qualifications Test (SMQT) within 2 years of hire.

Lactation Consultant Registered Nurse (Rn) Mixed Shift
Del Sol Medical Center is a Level II Trauma, 347 bed acute care TJC accredited hospital. Within our hospital campus, we also house an Inpatient, CARF accredited Rehabilitation Hospital.
We are located on the Eastside of El Paso, Texas right off of Interstate 10. We provide exceptional patient care services to the El Paso and Fort Bliss communities, as well as Southern New Mexico and West Texas Regions.
Postpartum (Ob/Gyn) is a 21 bed mother baby unit. We also take Ante Partum's and Gyn patients.
Our admissions are direct admissions from Doctor's offices, from Emergency room, main OR and L&D. We have approximately 250 deliveries a month, over 3,000 a year.
The Lactation Educator facilitates current, consistent and precise instruction for all lactating mothers in the Maternal Child areas which include: Labor and Delivery, Post Partum, Transition and special Care Nurseries.
The educator functions in coordination with the hospital policies and procedures to constantly provide improvement in the area of lactation coordination using the cost/quality models. Functions include managing the Maternal Child Area's Breastfeeding program, utilizing support education and intervention in the inpatient setting as w3ell as throughout the continuum of care.
This process begins with maternal education in prenatal classes and continues with post discharge follow up by the educator. In addition the educator is available and responsible for phone counsel, product sales control and rental with facilitation of breastfeeding education to the mother.
The educator provides consistency utilizing educational opportunities for all healthcare staff members, while promoting excellence in patient/maternal care. The Lactation Educator recognizes and seizes all opportunities for outreach community services. He/she facilitates education within all healthcare disciplines to promote optimal lactation care outcomes and community services.

Premature and critically ill newborns receive exceptional care in either our own Level II nursery or the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) at the University of Chicago Medicine Comer Children#s Hospital. Comer Children#s neonatal critical care transport team transfers patients from Saint Anthony.
Family involvement and bonding is the Maternity Center#s goal, and rooming-in is encouraged.
The Lactation Nurse Consultant is responsible for the overall coordination, planning and management of patient, family and staff education related to breastfeeding and developmental department education for Saint Anthony Hospital Obstetric Departments.
Current and unrestricted Registered Nurse in the State of Illinoi One year of clinical acute care RN lactation consultant experience. Current certification as an International Board Certified Lactation Consultant (IBCLC) preferred Demonstrated accuracy with software applications including WORD and McKession; excellent interpersonal skills, verbal and written communication skills. #Ability to work independently, exercising judgement and initiative. Sheltering Arms is seeking a Clinical Nurse Specialist (RN) to join the Mental Health Clinic (MHC) management team. The RN services as a liaison between the MHC and/or the community provider to ensure the coordination of care. The RN will collaborate with the MHC Associate Directors to monitor the quality improvement of adherence to patient care and treatment plans; provide and monitor patient injectable treatment, and adhere to infection control procedures; as well as monitor the health care progress of clinic's clients, and devise methods of compliance as determined by the Office of Mental Health. This is a Consultant position in Jamaica and Far Rockaway, Queens.
Provide quarterly utilization review of medical record to ensure appropriateness of treatment plan, psychotropic medication adherence, and documentation of safety plan for High Risk patients
Provide Injectable psycho tropic treatment on-site, and carry caseload to ensure monitoring of patient adherence and compliance to treatment
Ensure adherence to infection control procedures related to Injectable medication, including ordering and maintaining inventory of necessary supplies
In conjunction with MD, ensure communication regarding side effects of injectable medication, and/or pertinent lab screening
Participate in High Risk and/or incident review committee meetings
Attend 1 to 2 monthly supervisory sessions to ensure communication regarding adherence and compliance in medical records through utilization reviews
Assist with the review and preparation of case record reviews and audits, i.e. PSYCKES
A Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing, plus at least two years of experience in a medical and/or psychiatric setting is required
Utilize critical thinking, demonstrate flexibility, and contribute to the successful operation of the mental health clinic and transitional residence
Model professional behavior at all times, utilizing tact and diplomacy when interacting with staff, clients, and community providers
