· Assures that all clinical instructors and candidate fulfill clinical requirements of the organization
· Prior to the start of the Clinical Transitions Program, review student’s progress through Pre-Arrival assignments and address any areas of concern.
· Ensure the goals and objectives of the clinical programs are communicated and upheld.
· Collaborate with Clinical and non-clinical departments to ensure a team approach to candidate management.
· Confers with clinical team members regarding learning opportunities to further enrich candidate learning and accomplishment of the course’s outcomes
· Conduct effective training sessions as live lectures, simulation or role-play with candidates in the Clinical Transition Program.
· Provide candidates with written and verbal feedback as part of a debrief after learning activities, or on an individual basis.
· Performs role of consultant or mentor to other clinical instructors with concerns regarding candidate progress and evaluation in the clinical environment
· Provides evaluative feedback to the Avant team regarding the progress of candidate participation and learning.
· Evaluates candidate’s clinical reasoning skills and provides coaching and support for further development
· Serves as liaison between Avant and various learning partners for shadowing and training experiences
· Communicates in a professional manner in all formats (email, voicemail, live speaking, etc)
· Provides timely and ongoing feedback to the Director of Nursing Education regarding individual student and group performance
· Support candidates participating in the NCLEX review program as directed by Director of Nursing Education
· Ensure timely program revisions based on clinical standards and updates, client feedback and other key data.

With 40 programs and service sites spanning several counties, United Cerebral Palsy of Los Angeles, Ventura & Santa Barbara Counties (UCPLA) is the largest nonprofit provider of direct care services for individuals with developmental and intellectual disabilities in Southern California. The LVN Clinical Instructor will collaborate with the Registered Nurse (RN) and Administrator to provide training to Direct Care Staff (DCS) in an ICF/DD-N setting, to ensure optimum health care is provided to residents per Title 22 requirements, CDPH requirements, and UCPLA Policies and Procedures. This includes ongoing supervision, monitoring, training and evaluation of DCS in areas of Health Care Skills, Developmental Disabilities, and recording/documentation. Shift work as a staff LVN may be required at times. Works under the supervision of a RN and Administrator.
Train, supervise, monitor and evaluate Direct Care Staff (DCS) in the clinical care of residents
Provide direction, assistance, support and guidance as needed to provide optimum health care
Conduct walking rounds throughout a 5 acre program site to work with DCS

Job Description The West Texas A&M University (WTAMU) Department of Nursing seeks qualified candidates for a nine-month appointment teaching graduate Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP) nursing courses, both theory and clinical, and other graduate courses commensurate with expertise and education. The appointment also provides the opportunity for other faculty roles and responsibilities. Necessary Qualifications A master’s degree in nursing is required. Preferred Qualifications A doctoral degree in nursing practice or a related field is preferred. Experience in teaching in baccalaureate and/or master’s degree programs in nursing is preferred.
