Senior ODD Risk Consultant
Aon is looking for a ODD Risk Consultant As part of an industry-leading team, you will help empower results for our clients by delivering innovative and effective solutions as part of our Investment Consulting business group within Aon Hewitt, in Chicago. The ODD Risk Consultant will have the following areas of focus:
Responsibilities will include all aspects of business and operational due diligence on funds in which our clients invest their money. Strategies covered include: equity long/short, statistical, systematic, convertible, merger arbitrage, macro, credit, fixed income, and mortgages.
Review all DDQs and supporting documentation for fund managers (offering documents, IMA's, financial statements, ADV, valuation policy, compliance manuals, DDQ's, service provider agreements, risk reports and other relevant documents).
Carry out on-site visits to managers and follow up work as necessary to identify business and operational risks that might negatively affect a client's investment.
Write up detailed operational risk reports following visits and reviewing relevant fund documents.
Advise GIM and senior management of findings.
Regular communication with GIM analysts.
Briefing clients and prospective clients as necessary about ODD work undertaken on their managers or the process generally.
Take part in the iterative improvement of the ODD process and questionnaires being used. Qualifications for this exciting opportunity include:
At least 5 years' work experience in a similar role at a fund of funds, consultant, credit risk group, auditor, operations, prime broker or compliance department.
Detailed knowledge of alternative industry and products.
Professional/advanced degree preferred
Strong business related IT skills with focus on Excel, Word and Power Point.
Strong verbal and written skills.
Willingness to undertake some international travel as required.
Appear and act professionally in front of consultants internally and externally with managers and clients.
Strength of character to make unpopular or difficult decisions and to defend them in a rational thoughtful manner.
