The Raleigh facility is seeking an Offset Press Operator who will be an integral part of the Press Room. They will be responsible for the performance of manual and machine tasks in the setup, maintenance, and operation offset press to accurately produce product to pharmaceutical customer specifications.

Starts machines and performs trial runs to verify accuracy of machine setups.

Troubleshoots problems with the following: web tensions, web breakage, wrinkles, registration, impressions, form rollers, water, ink transference, plates, ink feedback, scumming, toning, piling, ghosting, picking, emulsification, sheeter jamming, edge tears at sheeter, dog ears, knife cutting
Ensures efficient operation of presses and related equipment performing preventive maintenance requirements according to operations manuals, manufacturer's instructions and established preventive maintenance schedules.
Understands and respects responsibilities of working in an SOP and cGMP environment.
Maintains safe and clean working environment by complying with company safety rules, procedures and regulations.
Effectively communicates with and to management staff.

Must have 5-7 years of related experience running, troubleshooting and performing quality control on a press of similar size and complexity.

Must demonstrate basic computer skills to do data entry.
Must have the ability to perform intermediate arithmetic (decimals, fractions, ratios, addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, etc.).

12-Color Offset Press Operator
Curtis 1000 – Las Vegas is seeking a 12 Color Press Operator for Offset Production. The position is responsible for productivity at standard, producing quality products, and equipment maintenance.
Shift Available
- First Shift: Full Time, Monday through Friday, 6:00AM to 2:00PM
- Second Shift: Full time, Monday through Friday, 2:00PM to 10:00PM
- Third Shift: Full time, Monday through Friday, 10:00PM to 6:00AM
Responsibilities Include:
Produce product for our customers within their required specifications and timelines
Press Checks; Directly interact with our customers in a professional manner
Meet and exceed press run speeds while maintaining consistency and quality

What does a Second Press Operator do?
Second Press Operators play an essential role in helping Quad/Graphics reduce the cost of errors; achieve client satisfaction and create a safe and hazard free workplace. The Second Press Operator assists the First Press Operator with make-readies, press equipment operations, performing quality control functions and enforcing the safety rules. This position is a leadership role and will assist in directing the work activities of the press crew members to ensure productivity, quality and safety goals are met.
The role is physically demanding. The work is done while standing. The job will include the ability to bend and lift 10-15 pounds continuously, ability to lift up to 70 pounds occasionally, perform repetitious tasks, use hands and wrists continuously in controlled movement. The ability to perform basic math calculations is vital as is the ability to follow instructions and use vision in order to identify defects.
What do I need to Qualify?
Must have 1-3 years previous press room experience, including ability to web up press. Previous offset second press operator experience is desired. Will consider applicants that have worked in a gravure or sheet fed environment.

Position Overview:
Quad Graphics is seeking a Offset Second Press Operator in our Charlotte, NC Retail plant. The incumbent plays an essential role in helping Quad/Graphics reduce the cost of errors; achieve client satisfaction and create a safe and hazard free workplace. The Offset Second Press Operator assists the Offset First Press Operator with make-readies, press equipment operations, performing quality control functions and enforcing the safety rules. This position is a leadership role and will assist in directing the work the work activities of the press crewmembers to ensure productivity, quality and safety goals are met. Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
To understand and follow all standard operating and safety procedures
Must verify size, color, type of paper and color of ink from job order
Responsible for color or register with demonstrated proficiency
Monitors roll reports for accuracy as directed by the Operator
Inspects printed sheets visually after registration or position printing and readjusts guides and controls to rectify spacing errors, irregular ink distribution, faulty cuts of folds
Safely assists in unlocking plates and replacing with makeover plates according to directions marked on plate regarding location and time of printing
May rethread paper through press if web breaks and readjusts tension rollers
Provides direction, training and guidance to junior crewmembers
May be designated Tension Regulator when installing paper rolls in press and adjusting controls to regulate tension of paper; or specified color registration
Follows all company safety regulations and encourages safe work habits from other crewmembers
Maintain a clean and orderly work area
Performs other duties as assigned
Required Qualifications:
Candidates must have prior Press experience.
Proficient in reading, writing, speaking and general knowledge of English to understand written directions.
Perform basic math functions as related to press operations.
Ability to troubleshoot and solve print related problems such as pressure, settings, tension, irregular ink distributions and web-breaks
Enhanced listening skills and ability to follow directions from the Supervisor and Operator
Performs and ensure all tasks on and around press equipment are done following established safety procedures
Contributor of suggestions for improvement to crewmembers and Supervisor.
Exhibit good interpersonal skills in issuing work instructions to crewmembers.
Ability to demonstrate and share personal job knowledge with less experienced crew members
Ability to work overtime as required based upon production demands
