They will be responsible for the performance of manual and machine tasks in the setup, maintenance, and operation offset press to accurately produce product to pharmaceutical customer specifications.

Performs all press skills: roll stand set-up and maint, infeed set-up and main, web guide set up and maint. vacuum system set-up and maint., job set-up – roll vs., sheeter, printing unit set-up and maint., installation of platesand blankets, bending and packing of plates, use and care of packing gauge, roller settings and maint. grit roller maint and repair, ink fountain maint and repair, ink and water balance, ink settings, auto register set-up and maint., manual registration, slitter wheel and perf wheel set-up, trim system, knife adjustments, knife cylinder Timing, unit timing, water system set-up and maintenance, rewind station set-up and maint, press console functions and controls, removal and installation of print heads, densitometer principles and operation, proper ink levels in ink fountain. Troubleshoots problems with the following: web tensions, web breakage, wrinkles, registration, impressions, form rollers, water, ink transference, plates, ink feedback, scumming, toning, piling, ghosting, picking, emulsification, sheeter jamming, edge tears at sheeter, dog ears, knife cutting Ensures efficient operation of presses and related equipment performing preventive maintenance requirements according to operations manuals, manufacturer's instructions and established preventive maintenance schedules. Inspects finished product for smears, stains, uniform shading, and contrast.
Places product on tray to dry or places product on conveyer leading to thermographer.
Periodically washes cylinders with solvent.
Spreads ink on cleaned cylinder with ink knife.
Cleans smears and spots from rejects with solvent.
Changes ink rollers, and die cut to print more than one color.
Responsible for press cleanups

Computerized Offset Printing Press Operator
Job Description While working in production, specifically the pressroom, you will be tasked with fulfilling orders and performing tasks related to printing customer orders from an offset press. You will be responsible for operating the offset press in order to produce a high quality product for the customer. Additionally, you will maintain, and occasionally repair the presses in order to ensure proper quality and a timely delivery to finishing. Job duties include but are not limited to:
Review work schedules promptly at the start of shift, check all equipment and supplies required to perform the work scheduled, and prepare for operations.
Running jobs at the highest production rate possible while maintaining quality through the constant inspection of printed materials for any defects (Hickeys, inking, water balance, bleeds, pagination, registration, wrinkles, scuffing, scratching, ghosting etc.).
Job make ready of proper ink sequence, fountain settings (preliminary and start-up), feeder and delivery set up
Maintaining the press in a safe operating condition.
Must have 2-3 years experience as a sheet fed press operator and a strong understanding of color matching.
Must be able to make ready the press and have a strong mechanical aptitude.
Able to communicate effectively at all levels and will work very closely with management and clients.
KBA Press experience is highly desired but not required.
