Field Mechanic Oil And Gas
Godwin, a Xylem brand, offers a broad product line of fully automatic self-priming pumps used in temporary and permanent applications. With a full range of diesel and electric pumps available to purchase or rent, Godwin pumps are used for dewatering and liquids transfer in mining, constructions, municipal and industrial projects around the world.
The Role: Godwin, a Xylem brand, seeks to hire a Field Mechanic in Oil and Gas who is responsible for trouble-shooting, service, repair and maintenance of Xylem equipment in a safe and efficient manner in the shop or at a customer job site.
Essential Functions:
Troubleshoot diesel engines, electrical systems, hydraulic systems and pump end issues and repair/rebuild as necessary.
Perform routine inspections, preventative maintenance and servicing as directed on Xylem equipment between each rental.
Diagnose and report any damage to the Service Manager.
Create an accurate and legible parts and repair list for assigned Xylem equipment.
Review list of parts with Service Manager and obtain approval to continue with servicing and repair.
Test all repaired equipment for proper operation and quality.
Perform preventative maintenance on Company vehicles and shop support equipment as directed (air dryer, chain saws, lifts, etc.).
Assist customer and/or Xylem personnel with setting up pumping systems on customer job sites as needed.
Maintain a safe work environment by following EHS&S guidelines, policies and best practices.
Participate in weekly on-call rotation schedule to assist customers after hours.
Perform related duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications:
Two to three years of experience and/or training or combination of education, training and experience
Ability to diagnose common mechanical and electrical issues
Experience with diesel engine repairs
Basic knowledge of methods, materials, tools and techniques to repair and maintain equipment
Basic knowledge of DC electric and circuit testing skills
Ability to safely operate hand tools, power tools and lifting equipment
Ability to communicate effectively with customers, co-workers and managers both verbally and in writing
Physical Demands: Prolonged standing on concrete floors; lifting and carrying up to 50 pounds; moderate bending and stooping
Work Environment: Shop environment: intermittent exposure to all outdoor weather conditions; intermittent exposure to shop noise and fumes all within limits of OSHA standards
Manufacturing environment: may be exposed to loud noises, changing temperatures, machinery with moving parts and various materials
Extended hours as needed (weekends, overtime and on-call rotations)

Position Status: Full Time (40 hrs week)
Job Summary:
This position may be based out of our Prescott, Kingman, Show Low or Flagstaff locations and will be determined based on selected candidate.
Repair, recondition, and service Caterpillar and other Empire line allied machines, systems and components in the field. Prepare equipment for delivery. Troubleshoot and diagnose malfunctions and failures of machine and engines systems, and their components. Work in adverse weather conditions as needed. Accept all out of town assignments requiring extended overnight stays. Communicate orally and in writing information, instructions and explanations to associates, customers and management regarding equipment conditions, problems and recommendations. Preferred 3 years' experience troubleshooting and repairing heavy equipment.
Essential Functions:
Troubleshoot and diagnose equipment malfunctions and failures.
Maintain good customer relations and support for corporate marketing objectives.
Repair, recondition, and maintain equipment and components.
Prepare service reports.
Plan and control cost of repair jobs.
Maintain company equipment – keep in good clean orderly condition.

Education and Experience:
Proof of high school diploma or General Education Degree (GED).
Current driver's license.
Current CDL is required prior to hire. (On-going costs to maintain CDL after hire date will be paid by Empire)
Minimum of 6 months related experience.
Completion of TRAIN test evaluation.
Must be able to communicate (speak, read, comprehend, write) in English.
