Package Picker / Sorter - Warehouse

FedEx Ground Package Handlers load and unload sorted packages in a fast-paced environment and ensure that FedEx Ground continues to deliver packages to its customers on time and with care.
FedEx Ground facilities typically have multiple sorts operating daily in each location. During the sort, Package Handlers are responsible for the physical loading, unloading and/or sorting of packages by hand, including lifting, pushing, pulling, carrying and placing, in a safe and efficient manner. Package Handlers (PHs) may be assigned to or rotate through various areas and positions such as Loader, Unloader, Palletizer, Scan Weigh and Key (SWAK), Quality Assurance (QA), Facer, Switcher, etc.
Individuals who are interested in being considered for a Package Handler position are required to watch a virtual job preview before completing an employment application process. The virtual job preview, will provide a realistic preview of the Package Handler job.
Daily activities include assisting with warehouse operations and performing entry level warehouse and dock-related tasks, loading and unloading trucks, shipping and receiving, moving, handling and tracking packages and other material and assisting with transportation and distribution operations.

Essential Functions of the Package Handler position
•Utilizes "hand-to-surface" methods for all package handling.
•Loads and unloads packages onto or from delivery vehicles, trailers, pallets, conveyor system carts and load gratings.
•Lifts, carries, pushes and pulls packages on a continuous and repetitive basis for approximate shifts of two to four hours.
•Determines the appropriate conveyor system by scanning packages, reading labels and charts, verifying numbers and memorizing information and sorts packages accordingly.
•Performs other duties as assigned

This is a work from home position and you will set your own appointments and when you are not in the home filling requests you will be handling business from home via the computer. Typically an agent full time will work 32-40 hours a week and 16-22 hours of that will be in the field. The average commission for full time agents is about $85,000 to $150,000 a year in the first year. Part time is also an option.
Training will be available to you and we can help you get licensed by the state if you are not currently licensed. You do not have to have experience selling mortgage protection or final expense insurance to apply for this position. We will train you. Our training program is state of the art.

Collect money (cash or checks) where required, and turn in all funds collected daily.
Pickup, load and unload damaged goods and customer returns, and complete necessary paperwork.
Perform pre-trip and post-trip responsibilities in accordance with Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations and Sysco policies and procedures.
Perform coupling procedures for the tractor/trailer as needed.
Complete Department of Transportation (DOT) logs (electronic or manual as required), company vehicle maintenance reports and reconcile with appropriate company representative as required.
Follow SyscoSafe preferred work methods at all times, and immediately advise supervisor of any unsafe conditions.
Maintain sanitary conditions in tractor and trailer and assist with maintaining sanitary conditions in the warehouse and yard.
