JOB PURPOSE: Sets up and operates a variety of automatic or semi-automatic machines including steel cutting saw equipment used in the preparation for the shipment of the company's product.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Responsible for the overall operation of potentially large-scale manufacturing machinery including actions such as feeding materials for processing, adjusting settings, performing minor repairs, and pulling finished product from the line.
Works from process sheets or written/verbal instructions given by supervisor to perform production tasks.
Checks and inspects operation results against predetermined tolerances.

Must become familiar with all the products (part numbers, gauges, etc.) and how they are used and stored;
Think and practice safety daily;

Experience, Competencies and Education
High School diploma or equivalent; typically requires less than 1 year of related experience.
As an Entry Level position, individual must demonstrate the ability to follow directions and work within the Shipping Department to learn the production process;
Several tasks will be assigned to aid the Department that includes manual labor (lifting, stacking, pushing, etc. of heavy objects);
Strong math, measurement, reading and comprehension skills;
Mechanical aptitude and trouble shooting skills;
Ability to maintain positive attitude and be a strong team player;
Ability to read, analyze, and/or interpret simple to moderately complex process sheets or written/verbal instruction and/or documents;
Ability to understand and follow through on both verbal and written instructions.
- Acquires job skills and learns company policies and procedures to complete routine tasks.

Operator 1- Overhead Crane
•Operates a 29-ton P&H Static Step less overhead bucket crane (cab controlled) in a safe and efficient manner to lift, move, and position loads of petroleum coke bulk materials from a pit to conveyor belt hopper. Participate as trained and instructed in the maintenance, troubleshooting and repair of cranes, bucket and related equipment. • May be assigned to general duties in all areas of operations of the terminals. • Refresher training in maintenance, operations, and safety and environmental as required. • Housekeeping and general maintenance as required. • Perform any other type of terminal function as trained and as instructed by the supervisor. • Operate all the equipment and perform the duties and responsibilities of the terminal’s Equipment Operator/Maintenance positions such as fork lifts, Dozer, skid steers, Excavator, Telehandler, Driller and Ship Loading Operations.

BAE Systems York PA Site is seeking an Overhead Crane Operator on 2nd shift.
Cleans and performs surface preparation to parts prior to paint, loads and unloads paint conveyor lines. Spray paints various assemblies, vehicles, subassemblies, parts and miscellaneous plant equipment and fixtures according to commercial and government specifications.
Receives instructions and work orders from Process Supervisor, Assistant. Process Supervisor, Lead Person or Self-Directed Work Team.
Checks crane and other lifting equipment such as cables, controls, etc. to assure safe operating conditions.
Receives signals from personnel and lead persons for crane lifts being made.
Observes crane hook-up for proper and safe hooking procedure while operating cab crane.
Operates crane controls for speed, travel and hoist requirements to transport and position lifts as a service requirement in the production department.

When operating floor controlled cranes, performs hooking for lifts according to proper and safe hooking procedures.

Enviva is seeking a Crane Operator who will be responsible for unloading logs from log delivery trucks, storing longs in a stack under the portal cane and feeding logs to the log processing line.
Load and unload bundles from trucks using portal crane.
Inspect and adjust crane mechanisms and lifting accessories in order to prevent malfunctions and damage.
Move levers (with both hands), depress foot petals (with both feet) and turn dials to operate crane, or other moving equipment for lifting, moving and placing loads.

12 months experience in operating material moving, loading or unloading equipment.
Strong verbal communication skills.
At least 1 year of experience inspection material moving equipment.
At least 1 year of experience in crane operation in construction, manufacturing or repair setting.
At least 1 year of experience performing safety inspections in manufacturing or industrial setting.
OSHA 10 General Industry Certification and ability to pass Enviva-generated hazard recognition test.
Skills and Abilities
Ability to detect visually and to possibly remove or eject in-feed logs for embedded rocks or other saw damaging debris.
Log grading ability.
Stay in seated position at approximate 30 degree angle for long periods of time without a break (up to four hours at a time).
Ability to be bounced around by the vibration of crane.
Skilled in crane operations or comparable heavy machinery operations experience.
Must be able to climb ladders and work from high elevations.
Work in all types of weather conditions.
Occasionally walk on slippery or uneven surfaces.
Climb ladders and work off elevated surfaces at or above 50 feet on an occasional basis during each shift.
Noise level in the work environment is frequently loud.
