Responsible for operating an overhead crane to lift, move, position, and reposition loads. Depresses buttons, lifts levers, and ensures load is safely attached to crane before bringing it down.
Overhead Crane Operator Job Duties:
Operate overhead crane to move materials and products throughout plant.
Observes load hookup and determines safety of load.
Manipulates or depresses crane controls, such as pedals, levers, and buttons, to regulate speed and direction of crane and hoist movement according to written, verbal, or signal instructions.

We require professional certification through the National Commission for the Certification of Crane Operators (NCCCO), even if the state in which they operate does not. 18 states require crane operators to hold certification or licenses through NCCCO. NCCCO offers mobile crane operator certification with a specialty in lattice boom crawler cranes.

Description:Operates traveling crane from moving cab on bridge, ground and/or by remote control in response to ground signals to lift, move, lower and position aircraft, large aircraft assemblies, and heavy machinery, dies and jigs. Works in various areas where continuous concentration and skillful operation of controls are required to safely, properly and precisely place and/or mate subject load.
