Senior Designer - Color Package Design
Senior Designer should have a proven track record of excellence in implementing Marketing Brand/Product Strategies through Design. They are directly responsible for creation of new Packaging Design – primary and secondary, Brand maintenance, and Brand Design Budgets. They work directly with design consultants and studios to generate comps, create layouts and final art, on as needed/per project basis. The Senior Designer is responsible for conceptualization and design solutions from concept to implementation. Provides overall creative direction aimed at planning, creating, and producing package designs.
Duties & Responsibilities:
Review proposed designs with Design Manager and Director prior to sharing with cross-functional teams to ensure design aesthetics and requirements are met and are within proposed COGs
Design and/or direct creation of packaging within assigned brands - ensure designs are reviewed by Engineering and approved by Marketing as needed
Independently Partner with Engineering and NPED to achieve highest level of quality for each profile – understanding limitations due to timing, costs, etc.
Approve/review SAGs with Designer and studios prior to art release ensuring art specified correctly.
Implement and Supervise retrieval and storage of work in progress. Establish and maintain design files in an organized, accurate, current categorically unified manner – all files must be usable to someone not familiar with the brand
Oversee color standard system for Brands
Review and accurately judge quality of supplier submissions for standards/approval independently. Attend press runs for on site approvals as needed.
Responsible for forecasting and managing Brand Design Budgets / ensure Brand budgets alignment w/ Category Budget with Design Manager and studio administrator
Build and maintain close relationship w/cross functional teams to ensure successful conceptualization, development and execution of package design
Ability to evaluate production samples for aesthetic quality and direction provided and give direction/approvals as necessary
Evaluate and edit design directions presented by Designer to reflect appropriate aesthetic execution based on Marketing direction, Brand needs and cost
Work with Engineering to develop/select appropriate package for Brands

BFA or MFA in Package Design or related field
Strong MAC skills with extensive knowledge of Adobe Illustrator and general knowledge of Adobe Photoshop
