The Machine Operator is expected to:
Loading and unloading of textile dyeing machines
Cut and sew fabric utilized for specific jobs.
Extraction of fabric, fabric drying and cutting samples of recently dyed colors.
Learn all aspects of the dyeing cycle from start to finish.
Weigh dyes and Chemicals for dyeing of colors.
Perform heavy lifting; up to 50 lbs.

Perform daily and weekly preventative maintenance on machines on platform.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Responsible for all activities associated with running a Flexo or Rotary Die Cutter including: setup, operation, cleanup, and recommending improvements to operations.
Sets up and runs the Load Former, feeding the machine
Reviews job tickets, print cards, and quality inspection paperwork with machine Captain
Sets up and operates the pre-feeder.
Reads job order and mounts specified rubber print plate and printing dies on cylinder.
Installs cylinder on shaft, and secures assembly in bed of press.
Fills dye fonts with prescribed inks or dyes.
Moves levers to engage dye rolls, adjusting position of cylinder to print two or more colors without overlapping or smearing previously printed area.
Starts press, adjusting speed, tension, and alignment of printing plate as necessary.
Cuts sample of printed material from end of printed roll and inspects for imperfections, such as blurred or off-center impressions.
Cleans rubber plate, cylinder, and dye fonts, using solvent, and lubricates press as needed, using grease gun.
May mix inks or dyes to produce desired colors.
Sets up rails, print, and die cut section on machinery accurately in accordance with proper setup techniques.
Inspects all dies before and after run to ensure that any necessary repairs are made before the next run.
Ensures all bolts for cutting dies are in place and tightly secured.
Monitor box quality, including, but not limited to, loose liner, warp, correct size, and print.
Checks anilox rolls for damage.
Maximizes the utilization of equipment by operating the machinery at available capacity and speed.
Cross trains and assist Helpers, Stackers, and Bundlers with job duties on the machine.
Cross-train on other machines.
Completes necessary reports in an accurate and timely manner, including but not limited to: Production Data,
Machine Operational Status, Safety Data, Quality Data. Turn in maintenance work orders to supervision for needed repairs.
Must be proactive in the maintenance of equipment.
Switches duties with stacker as necessary.
Complies with all company policies and procedures, including safety and maintaining good housekeeping.
Adheres to production schedule. Makes recommendations for optimizing the schedule to meet cost, quality and service goals.
Reports any issues to Supervisor.

Our team is currently seeking a skilled professional to support Production and Hydraulic Press Operator for our fast-paced refractory brick operation in York, PA. Our successful team members are self-starters who can work independently without direct supervision. This position runs a heavy tonnage hydraulic press and robotic system that supports the brick manufacturing process. The presses are the first step in creating our molded brick products.
$21.00/HR + $1.50 shift/$1.60 weekend differential
Following a probationary period, our team members can test into advanced pay levels where the average pay for a Production position is: $24.36 + differentials = approx. $55,000/yr
2nd shift or 3rd shift positions are available; our schedules require some scheduled work during weekends.
Work safely in a heavy industrial facility when performing brick processing work. Heavy physical labor is required in this department and safety is our first priority.

Description and Responsibilities
The PMO is responsible for the setup, operation, and teardown of assigned packaging machine equipment. Equipment includes but is not limited to: vertical form-fill-and-seal machines, carton packing machines, and case packers. The PMO keeps detailed records and documents changes made to the machine during the shift. PMO also makes minor machine adjustments, refers more difficult adjustments to Maintenance, operates a basic computer system, and runs miscellaneous other equipment. PMO's will also provide limited work direction to General Laborers and temporary workers.
Perform setup activities such as mechanical assembly, tube and film roll placement, and loading of packaging materials.
Assist with detailed cleaning activities in packaging room as well as other areas of plant on a regular basis. This can occasionally mean entire shifts of cleaning duties.
Deliver a clean, well-ordered work area to oncoming replacements.
Complete various paperwork including pre-operational checklist and semi-hourly quality checks.

Minimum 1 year of related machine operating experience required
Thorough understanding of shop practices and procedures
Ability to do basic math (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, common fractions, and decimals)
General knowledge of PCs and Windows programs preferred
Basic understanding of producing and inspecting precision components
Able to read and interpret average to complex blueprints, drawings, diagrams, tolerance information, route sheets, factory work orders, safety guidelines, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals
Able to regularly lift and move up to 25lbs, frequently lift or move 50lbs, and occasionally, with assistance lift up to 100lbs
High School Diploma or GED required.

Responsible for keeping production lines running efficiently to meet production goals.
Assists with additional work duties or responsibilities as evident or required.
Responsible for in-process quality testing of finished product as required.
Responsible for keeping the equipment supplied with packaging materials in order to complete packaging run.

Maintain a professional courteous manner with departments coordinating and understanding daily production goals.
Provide information of ongoing equipment and operational issues to line technicians.
Assist in set up and tool packaging equipment to the correct packaging configuration as specified packaging schedule.
Must complete proper paperwork as assigned, document machine startup and operating settings as required per Nephron specifications.
Must be able to write descriptive reports/explanations in manufacturing maintenance log books, batch records, etc.
Responsible for keeping the equipment supplied with packaging materials in order to complete successful packaging run.
Maintain a clean machine and work area at all times.

Previous line operator experience preferred.

Must be able to drive/have own transport to and from the packaging building as well as to and from other Nephron sites in the area.

Incumbents are required to wear safety glasses, hearing protection, bouffant, and laboratory coats and other non-specified protective equipment as necessary.
