TayCal is seeking temporary Hand Packagers to help process holiday orders. The position is responsible for a variety of quality and performance based activities to help ensure customers get a high quality product. The position will vary between equipment operation support, packaging and other finishing duties related to processing each order.
- 5- 6 days per week and a variety of 1st and 2nd shift hours to help process customer orders. Will discuss in more detail during the interview.

Taycal is a western based, short run, specialty printing operation in Los Angeles, California, focused upon delivering a diverse portfolio of litho, engraved and digital products at an optimized cost and within the service parameters required by its Taylor Company customers.
The Packager is responsible for the packaging of product in both the manual and auto bagging areas of the packaging department.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Uphold neat, clean, and organized work environment, cleaning the equipment daily,
- Prepare work for the auto and manual packaging areas, matching correct products and cards based on priorities,
- Power up the machine and turn on the compressed air for auto bag machines,
- Promote a safe work environment while at the auto bag machines,
- Enter SKU data into Bar Tender software for use by the printer,
- Light maintenance of machines including changing printer ribbon,
- Gathering of components for manual area; foam, plastic capsules, etc.,
- Ensure unit counts and box labels are accurate before sending to Receiving,
- Total SKU and unit summary each day,
- Make boxes for use at the machine and in manual packing area.
Qualifications and Requirements
- High School diploma and 1-2 year relevant experience,
- Basic PC skills in order to use Bar,
- Proven ability to multi task in a mechanical environment,
- Attention to detail,
- Ability to work weekends and holidays based on the needs of the business.

Packager & Assembler
This position is responsible for prioritizing, organizing, assembling, packing, moving, staging, and processing material within the packing department with regard to efficiency, quality, and safety.
SPECIFIC DUTIES & ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Packs outgoing materials, products, or supplies.
Counts items shipped and checks against packing lists, recording any discrepancies.
Assembles and packages various types of materials, finished products (whole or part), and supplies.
Places products, parts, or merchandise into packages, boxes, crates, or other containers.
Makes crates or custom packaging for large or bulk products from various materials using power and pneumatic hand tools.
Uses styro-foam, paper, plastic, or other materials to wrap and pack containers.
Loads product using rolling carts, hand truck, and/or forklift.
Maintains a safe, secure, and healthy environment by adhering to organizational standards and policies, and legal regulations including Occupational Safety and Health Act (OSHA) and Environmental Protection Act (EPA).
Must be able to walk, step, lift (up to 50 pounds), carry, load, stoop, bend, kneel, reach, stand, push (up to 150 pounds), pull, grip, feel, hear, and see (color) while performing all tasks. Good manual dexterity and hand eye coordination are a must as are the ability to stand and walk for extended periods and extend hand(s) and arm(s) in any direction. The ability to judge distance and space relationships and see objects where and as they are.

Work Hours: 8 to 12 hours daily, 5-6 days/week
Packages and inspects brick in a fast-paced production environment.
Performs other duties essential to job, including clean-up in work areas.

This is a contract to direct hire opportunity and is not a short term, or temporary position. This is a long-term position that averages 45-55 hours/week.. This position is expected to fill quickly.
Requirements and qualifications:
- Experienced as a pipefitter within a machine tool environment
