POSITION DESCRIPTION: Reporting to Sr. Packaging Engineer, this position monitors and maintains packaging, production, and processing equipment and machinery. This individual is responsible for supporting the production team on equipment failures they can’t address, as preventive maintenance and repair work orders.
Maintain, repair, and replace broken or malfunctioning components of machinery and equipment including top sealers, vertical form fill and seal baggers, Ishida Scales, metal detectors, case coders, Adept robots, and sonic welding equipment.
Analyze machine error messages or information from machine operator in order to diagnose equipment failures.
Perform scheduled Preventative Maintenance work orders.
Record daily repairs and maintenance performed using Maintenance Connection, our internal computerized maintenance management system.
Record Parts and materials used on a daily basis in Maintenance Connection.
Work with operations daily to increase up time and reduce un-planned downtime on machinery.
Ensure compliance with all regulatory and company policies and procedures including Good Manufacturing Practices and safety procedures and programs such as lock out/ tag out.
Education and Experience:
High school graduate or General Eductation Degree (GED) required.
5-7 years experience operating and maintaining packaging equipment or 5-7 years in an electrical technician position.
A minimum of one year experience operating Vertical Form Fill System (VFFS). Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Knowledge of Rockwell PLC.
Functional proficiency in MS Office including Word, Outlook, Excel, and PowerPoint.
Ability to troubleshoot electrical, pnuematic, and mechanical repairs required.
Ability to complete assigned tasks under stress.
Ability to read facility and equipment schematics and diagrams.

Our client, a beauty company in San Francisco, is seeking a Senior Packaging Technician for a long-term, onsite temporary position. The Packaging Technician will work closely with the Lab Manager to prepare, perform, and document tests/findings for component testing within the Packaging Testing Lab. The Packaging Technician will also communicate with internal cross-functional teams and external vendors and suppliers regarding testing procedures and results.
