This is a swing shift position.
To prepare patterns for assembly and to prepare soluble cores for pattern molding; wax welds multiple components using fixtures to maintain dimensional conformity; repairs wax patterns and soluble cores in accordance with quality standards.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
Objective: to assemble pattern components and/or make dimensional alterations to patterns.
A. Reads techcards and engineering instructions.
B. Assembles wax components into visually and dimensionally acceptable patterns; may use specialized fixturing.
C. Modifies patterns or soluble cores using various hand tools and wax materials.
D. Inspects modifications with special gauges and other measuring devises.
E. Occasionally inserts ceramic cores in wax patterns and maintains dimensional integrity (TBO only).
Objective: to fix broken or damaged patterns and soluble cores and restore to dimensionally acceptable condition.
A. Replaces broken features by wax welding fragments or by using other wax supplies to reconstruct missing areas.
B. Fills voids and reforms damaged contours by attaching and shaping stock wax.
Objective: to work patterns and soluable core surfaces to meet visual inspection criteria.
A. Removes flash, mismatch and other surface positives using a variety of hand tools and materials.
B. Fills or patches negatives using paint wax, melted stock wax, hot pencils and other tools and materials.
C. Completes dimensional integrity restoration and plugging of holes per techcards.
D. Inspects work for compliance with quality standards.
Objective: to identify patterns with specified serial pads and numbers.
A. Places sticky wax pads or stamps specified serial numbers directly into patterns, per techcards
Objective: to take responsibility for and demonstrate safe work practices.
A. Adheres to plant and department safety rules.
B. Safely operates all equipment and tools.
C. Identifies and reports safety problems.

1.Demonstrated experience to fully perform the duties of a Wax Cleaner or a Wax Assembler "C" (not at TBO) OR an equivalent combination of experience and training.
2.Working knowledge of cleaning techniques, methods, materials and tools and ability to use simple to moderately complex measuring devises and fixtures.
3.Ability to follow complex written and verbal instructions.
4.Good manual dexterity.
5.Ability to lift and/or maneuver objects weighing thirty to fifty pounds and occasionally up to one hundred twenty five pounds.
6.Ability to work in conditions which may include exposure to noise, fumes, crowding, abrasions, cuts, and chemicals.

Concrete Finisher II
Prepares subgrade set, sets forms, pours and finishes concrete road surfaces, sidewalks, curb, and gutters to provide a pleasing appearance and a sound structure.
Examples of Duties
Assures that concrete has proper slump and consistency during pouring operations.
Pours concrete to specified depth-utilizing techniques, which will prevent the segregation of materials. Finishes by screening, floating, troweling, and brooming to provide a pleasing appearance and a sound structure.
Edges and cuts joint in concrete using appropriate tools. Finishes top surface of curb after forms have been removed using approved methods and tools.
Performs skilled, semiskilled, and unskilled labor duties as required. Performs pick and shovel work on road construction sites, loads and unloads stone, gravel, dirt, timber, heavy mechanical equipment, and warehouse supplies.
Operates a variety of motor vehicles: pickup truck, single and tandem dump trucks, with standard or automatic transmissions. Removes debris due to storms and removes snow and ice from city streets.
Assists Concrete Finisher III in training other staff as required.
Performs related duties as required. Typical Qualifications
Graduation from an accredited high school or successful completion of the GED preferred. A minimum of three (3) years of experience in concrete construction, maintenance, and repair work to include reading and interpreting engineering plans for curb and gutter, sidewalks, and roadways.
A minimum of three (3) years of experience in planning curb and gutter layout from information from survey grade stakes and cut sheets. Ability to understand and follow oral and written instructions. Ability to perform physically demanding work.
Must possess a State of Virginia Commercial Driver's License (CDL) or must possess a Commercial Driver's License instruction permit and obtain a CDL within 90 days of employment. Must have a satisfactory driver's record based on the City of Hampton's criteria. SUMMARY OF POSITION:
The Finishing Operator is responsible for final inspection of finished hose. The Operator will measure and cut hose to length per packaging spec and wind hose onto spool or coil hose and place in a box.
1.Operate all Inspect and Pack lines, and applicable software, according to procedure.
2.Monitor production equipment while in operation to ensure quality of product.
3.Ensure that production equipment is safe, and that while in operation, it is run safely by all personnel.

Understands the 5 levels of finishing and can demonstrate each.
Our search for experience is specific to "Production Finishing" utilizing tools such as: Bazookas, Banjos, Flat and angle boxes, corner rollers, and power sanders.
Experience with all types and ranges of commercial drywall finishing.
Measures and marks surface to finish and level of finish work according to blueprints and drawings.
Inspects drywall surfaces for imperfections (screw heads, misaligned joints, bad hanging etc) then mark drywall surface with pencil prior to starting.
Using the right tools for the job size and need.
Understands the right joint compound (quick-set, lightweight, or standard) to be used at appropriate situations.
Eliminates visible joints, knows how to eliminate air bubbles, tapes are not blistered, switch and receptacle boxes are finished tight
Install cornerbead, trim beads, reveal beads straight, plumb and on tight utilizing string lines, laser, square, or straight edge.
Understands importance of tool maintenance and daily cleanup of production tools are essential.
Ability to work independently on jobsites.
Oversee less experienced installers/laborers.
Coordination with GC and other subcontractors regarding project expectations
Competent to instruct and inspect a quality produced wall or ceiling.
Discipline to check bead alignment with laser or straight edges
Identify/Resolve conflicts in site-specific conditions prior to road blocks in plan
Skill required to patch/repair existing drywall into like-new appearance
