The Paint Line Operator performs all tasks involved in Paint Line operations at Hitachi Automotive
- Georgia plant. This person follows work instructions and practices safe work habits to ensure production is as efficient and safe as possible.
Chief Duties and/or Responsibilities:
1.Operate paint line equipment according to work instructions precisely to effectively perform operations. Prepare paint solvent mix for the paint line. Load and unload prop shafts to paint line overhead conveyor.
2.Check products and/or component dimensions with use of various indicators and gauges as described in procedures or work instructions.
3.Visually and manually check for defects in product or workmanship. Conduct reports such as In-process inspection, equipment verification standard, and production report etc.
4.Change simple parts and fixtures to facilitate changeover of product types.
5.Where appropriate, input data daily to maintain charts and reports to support manufacturing, engineering, quality, material control, and sales.
6.Maintain clean and orderly work area utilizing the 5S policy in all aspects of processes, procedures and daily activities.
7.In all processes and functions, comply with work instructions and procedures to ensure quality of products, which conform to TS and customer quality standards.
8.Use bar code system to report production.
9.Able to follow precise safety work instructions.
10. Suggest and implement continuous improvement programs.
Qualified Applicants will possess the following:
High School diploma or equivalent required.
Minimum of three (3) years manufacturing experience with preference in paint line operation. Prop shaft experience is required.
Sufficient reading and writing ability to follow work instructions precisely and prepare production reports.
Basic math skills.
Sufficient Manual dexterity to operate machines properly.
Sufficient visual acuity (corrected) to read instructions, operates machines, and visually inspects parts products.
Physical ability to do work requiring frequent stooping and bending.
Physical strength sufficient to lift and carry 25 pounds to shoulder height repeatedly.
Physical ability to handle 55gal drum in and out of designated area.

Fabricator Operator - Paint Line (2Nd Shift)
Eaton located in Fayetteville, NC has an opening for a Fabricator Operator (Paint Line) on 2nd Shift
These positions utilize tools and equipment in preparing surfaces to be painted by sanding or rubbing as required. Move and stage parts in and out of the work area, load and unload parts to paint, identify and label parts correctly, and paint parts correctly. They will also operate the paint line conveyor system, Paint booths, spray guns, related treatment tanks, burn off ovens, curing ovens, and other related equipment under the direction of the supervisor or Team Lead.
Set up and operate spray booth. Receive written and/or verbal directions from Supervisor or Paint Line Attendant.
Load and Unload parts to paint. Label all parts correctly and give to the material handler
Assist in the maintenance of the spray booth and its related equipment. Maintain inventory of paint and supplies.
Utilize tools and equipment in preparing surfaces to be painted by sanding or rubbing as required. Paint interior/exterior of parts with avoidance of runs, blemishes, etc..

STATEMENT OF JOB
The Pre-finisher loads and unloads the conveyor lines by hand with correct number of parts or shells following the production orders and schedules. Parts loaded will be items such as brackets, guards, covers, boxes and small parts and shells of various sizes. Receives supervision for and performs other duties as assigned by the department supervisor.

1.Loads and unloads the conveyor line with Sentry and Red Line shells (2-1/2, 5, 10, 20 and 30) by hand.
2.Keeps accurate count of all parts for purposes of timekeeping, scrap, delay, and parts produced.
3.Inspected all parts for fabrication defects, rust and paint quality, details parts when necessary with small brush determines when parts must be recoated.
4.Maintains communications with Finishers on quality of parts.
5.Monitors temperatures on oven.
6.Occasionally drives a fork lift to position or procure material. Also manually moves boxes and pallets to proper position.
7.Strains used powder paint for reuse by using a scoop.
8.Cleans powder paint booth when needed:
Removes and replaces collector bags.
Vacuums powder paint to silo to remove old powder.
Assists Finisher in cleaning powder paint guns. Also assists in general repair of other powder paint equipment.
9.Performs other maintenance duties when needed such as cleaning the conveyor line, baking oven, the shaker, ductwork, and caulking ovens.
- Performs housekeeping and other related duties as may be assigned by the Paint Department Supervisor.
Paint Line Operator (1St Shift)
The Paint Line Operator is responsible to operate and maintain painting equipment in a safe and efficient manner to achieve the quality and production standards of the company. This position includes loading and unloading materials and powder booth spraying duties, as employees with this job title will learn all of these tasks.
DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES OF JOB:
- Proper set-up of painting equipment; i.e. perform titration measurements on wash tanks,
inspect spray guns and replace worn parts, perform color changes – "reclaim" and
"spray to waste", prepare conveyor for parts hanging, perform and fill out daily checklists.
- Prepare parts for proper paint application; includes masking, scotchbrite/DA parts,
- Load and unload parts from the conveyor line using proper methods and checking for
a quality paint finish.
Apply primers, liquid and powder paints to manufacturer specifications.
Follows instructions given by Group Leader and Paint Technicians.
Ability to trouble-shoot spray booths for problems.
Perform "Statistical Process Control" (SPC) in absence of Group Leader.

Paint Line Helper (West Bend) 2Nd Shift
This is a 2nd shift position
Reporting to the Paint Supervisor, the Paint line Helper is primarily responsible for loading and unloading parts from the paint line. This person may perform quality issues and notify supervisor and/or resolve quality issues. Team work, housekeeping and organizing is important for this role.
Confirm job order and material selections. Report any packaging shortages.
Tape and mask parts as required for coating.
Use correct hangers to hang parts correctly on conveyer. Hang parts uniform for cleaning and powder painting.
Assist with deck assembly on line and assemble tread plates, when needed
Remove parts from racks after oven cure.
Inspect coated parts for coating thickness using approved gauges.
Keep paint hooks clean and in good working order; organize the area as needed.
Responsible for filling out and managing all production, and quality documentation as required.
Rack fenders with material handler when unloading line.
Follow instructions to package parts to avoid damage in proper containers and on proper racks.
Follow all company rules, policies and regulations.
Report quality concerns to line leader, manager or QC department.
Ensure compliance with corporate and plant safety standards, using proper PPE and load weight limitations.
Other duties as assigned.
