As a paint prep assembler you would be responsible for the preparation of pumping units and accessory equipment for painting
Other responsibilities include:
For the re-assembly and decaling of the units and/or accessory equipment following completion of the painting process.
Proper preparation will assure paint adhesion and functionality.
Proper re-assembly and decaling will assure a complete product meeting production build and /or customer expectations.
When not engaged in painting, prepping, or assembly responsibilities, the Paint Prep Assembler will assist in the yard or perform other duties as assigned.
Disassemble, remove and store components from equipment (newly fabricated or refurbished)
Power wash, sand, grind and mask equipment being refurbished and repainted
Reassemble and apply vinyl labels in accordance with production and/or customer orders
Move equipment in and out of preparation and paint booth areas using a forklift
Must have a high school diploma
Ability to use and/or operate basic hand tools (manual and power-driven)
General mechanical aptitude
Ability and willingness to follow direction and be a team player
Ability to work independently as needed
Auto body, paint shop or vocational technical center experience preferred
Forklift certification preferred
Standing eight (8) hours per day
Using full range of physical motions associated with general labor work throughout the eight (8) hours to include walking, bending, squatting, kneeling, twisting, carrying/ lifting and climbing (up to 3 feet)
Manual lifting and maneuvering up to 50 pounds

Drives and operates one or more machines such as backhoes, grinders, graders, lowboys, roller, jackhammer, compressors, trucks and pavers. To perform specified activity such as moving material, leveling, grading, and paving by performing the following duties.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Has working knowledge of equipment operation for machines assigned, including driving.
Checks equipment daily for oil, fluid levels, damage and wear areas (teeth, grinder, etc.). Fuels equipment daily.
Ability to determine speed and direction on machine, based on knowledge of compressibility of material under changing temperatures, so that ridges do not form by excessive pressure.
Thorough understanding of all aspects of paving industry prep work, grades, drainage, paving patterns, aggregate size, job specifications, oil consistencies, compaction and other details related to asphalt paving.
Reports all damage or required repairs as needed to the mechanic on duty in a timely manner.
Completes equipment checklist and turns in on a daily basis.
Loads and unloads equipment from trailers. Ensures that equipment is correctly secured on trailers.
Ensures equipment is cleaned at the end of each job, each day.
Operates equipment safely at all times. Does not allow riders on the equipment while operating.
Follows all safety rules and regulations and practices preventive safety measures.
Performs non-operator, general labor work as needed including driving, shoveling, raking, rolling and flagging duties.
Valid Driver's License
Able to pass pre-employment drug screen.
Three to five years related asphalt & construction experience
Must be willing to travel when needed.
Ability to work in a team setting
Ability to work in a variety of weather conditions.

Performs manual labor along a production line making large chain.
Operates and troubleshoots production line machinery. Maintains required documents and records work orders, production reports, and proper parts labeling (route cards).

Perform highly repetitive machine operations to attach bar and pin stock assembly of various chain links. Work from blueprints.
Some setups, adjustments, and minor repairs made by operator. Insert pins in chain links, load bars in cam blocks, trip machine.
Check work for long or even pins. Continuously monitor links of chain to meet blueprint specifications.
Perform highly repetitive machine operations to make component parts. Work from instructions. Set-ups and adjustments made by others.
Load finished work into bin.
First and second stages to make single links. Third and fourth stages to make link sections----2060, 555, 550, 560 and 620 links.
Perform repetitive duties inspecting, aligning, matching, and placing in wire baskets various size and length of chain from staking press operations. Work from blueprint.
Align chain with fixed gauges for correct position of attachments and length. Match right and left hand.
Check link for proper swivel, remove faulty length when necessary and return to chain linking operation. Check for correct sinking and tolerance using go/no-go gauges. Use hand crank to coil chain. Tie and tag.
Rake and fill parts for cam die operator. Keep supply of tails to cam die operator.
Must be able to operate staker machine.
Education and/or Experience: High school diploma or general education degree (GED) required.
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and complete necessary production forms. Ability to speak effectively with fellow employees and/or customers.
Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.
