This person will be an integral member of Power Systems Division manufacturing team.
- The successful candidate must be willing to learn and become proficient in multiple facets of stationary and rotating magnetics with an initial focus on the stator production process at PSD South. Understand ITW operating principles and apply them to the manufacturing area.
Cross-training will be necessary in all areas of manufacturing. Candidate needs to be willing to work at any of the 3 PSD plant locations as business needs dictate. Willingness to adjust shift starting/ending times on occasions is required.
- A high school diploma or equivalent is required. This individual must be a self-starter with a positive attitude who has made the choice to be personally accountable and must be able to communicate well in a team environment and contribute to the success of the business unit.
This person must have willingness to cross-train and desire to work in a high volume environment. Good manual dexterity and cross training in all magnetics areas is required. The selected candidate must be able to stand for up to 12 hours per day, lift up to 50 lbs, and learn to read magnetics manufacturing documentation. The selected individual must be willing to work overtime as required (12 hrs/day and/or Fridays/Saturdays).

Coil Winder (2Nd Shift) (Req_Ut_180116)
Under limited supervision, winds coils used as electronic components according to work order, using coil-winding machines and hand tools. May set up and operate automatic or manual production machines and equipment, such as spot welder, pin threader, lathe and coil winder, to wind and pin to coil weld according to work orders and specifications.
Reads and interprets work orders, engineering specifications to determine machine setup, production methods, and sequence of operation.
Positions and clamps stops and guides; sets up and operates variety of machine tools.
Threads end of wire from reel through tension device, guides, and spreader bends wire ends to form lead, and attaches lead to coil core.
Starts machine and manually feed wire over coil core or spreader even and uniform winding and shape of coil; cuts wire to form leads, using wire or bolt cutters; uses magnifying glass for fine gauge wires.
Selects, positions, and secures the pin to coil weld using measuring devices and hand tools.
Welds together metal parts, components, or structures.
Inspects or measures work, using rule, gauges, and templates.
Observes machine operations, material supplies, and position of work pieces to detect malfunctions, needed supplies, or misaligned parts; may operate up to six different machines.
Performs routine preventative maintenance on machines as scheduled and required for TPM.
Works individually and as a team to develop and implement quality and efficiency improvements.
Conducts tests and inspections of products, or processes to evaluate quality or performance; examines products or work to verify conformance to specifications.
May be required to cross train and demonstrate competency on all essential job functions of the department working at different work stations as production needs require.

Maintenance of a clean and orderly work area free of excess materials.

Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, proportions and decimals. Ability and understanding of various measuring devices in meeting drawing dimensions and specifications.
Ability to read and interpret documents such as blueprints, work orders, work instructions, diagrams, safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Good verbal and written communication skills are necessary.
Work requires continual attention to detail in follow through, establishing priorities and meeting deadlines.

Drives and operates one or more machines such as backhoes, grinders, graders, lowboys, roller, jackhammer, compressors, trucks and pavers. To perform specified activity such as moving material, leveling, grading, and paving by performing the following duties.

Has working knowledge of equipment operation for machines assigned, including driving.

Reports all damage or required repairs as needed to the mechanic on duty in a timely manner.
Completes equipment checklist and turns in on a daily basis.

Ensures equipment is cleaned at the end of each job, each day.
Operates equipment safely at all times. Does not allow riders on the equipment while operating.
Follows all safety rules and regulations and practices preventive safety measures.
Performs non-operator, general labor work as needed including driving, shoveling, raking, rolling and flagging duties.
Valid Driver's License
